Also to be noted probably 70% of Hunters don’t have the funds or ability to be that Committed. That’s a buck of a lifetime for most people. If You’re ever lucky enough to see or have that caliber of deer In the areas that you are able to hunt.

@@AC-hl7pc I'm sure you won't see this 3 years later, but Bill Winke is NOT a spoiled little rich guy. He's worked hard his whole life and has earned everything he has. Nothing was handed to him and he deserves all the success that he's achieved. Besides that, he's one of the best bowhunters in the country.

Im not sure how anyone can see when you light those pins up in low light conditions. It screws my night vision right up.

Thanks Douglas. We think he is still alive. Prucha saw him on his farm in November and that is almost a mile from where I got the photo, so hopefully he isn't roaming too much!
I can certainly relate to that public land challenge. However, it is about a thousand times harder out here on the east coast. I hunted Iowa last year for the first time, public land, and it was covered up in buck. I would see about 20 deer a day and about 10 to 15 different buck a day. Here in PA, you would be lucky to see a buck over 3 in a whole season and you would also be lucky to see more than 10 deer in a whole week of hunting public land. There are many times you can go 10 days without seeing a single deer. I invite any of you to come join me on my Map Reading Challenge if you want to feel an even harder challenge than harvesting a buck on public land in the mid west. Enjoy the woods and God bless you.

Lol, amen to that! That's why many of us wish we could move there! Lol, my wife was actually somewhat open to the idea until we had our first child, and then she wanted to stay closer to family in PA. Booooo.lol

Interesting, I'd never shoot a doe who has a fawn with her, diff ethics huh...
They are weaned by the time the hunting season arrvies, but there is likely a higher mortality rate among fawns that are orphaned versus fawsn with their mother. That rate likely depends a lot on location (how many things are other there capable of killing them).
@@MidwestWhitetailVideos I had a doe and 2 fawns daily browsing my back lawn in mid December, doe disappeared both fawns were toast, both with 2 little neck holes like a vampire attack....set up cams and the bobcat nightly hit the dead deer it killed...actually imthink my thumb nail shows the cat in a snow storm...my best hunting buddy couldn't get his head around the bobcat thing....getting hit by a hundred pound bag of whatever on your back, well !..2 interesting notes..every animal to get near the carcasses kept their distance....bear coydogs..and the leaf piles which they were under is a,cat thing..burried animals are a bear thing and no bones can be something most people don't think exists anywhere... and by the way the doe disappearing...it hooked up with Mr deer

Ignorant comment. Look at a map of any state. 99% of property is private. So land owners and leasers should quit hunting their property and go to public land? If you owned a farm in Iowa you wouldn't consider a blind? No way in hell more people hunt public land than private.
To be honest this is crazy my biggest buck is a spike an I was so hyped saw a 4 point last week I was happy some of these small deer to y’all are giants to me

At first I was like damn how many deer do you need?? Then I realized y’all were managing the heard.
I’ve killed 4 at once for hunting buddies that got skunked and felt like maybe I was a little greedy but that’s just me idk why. I’ve also stopped killing the mothers with fawns even though I know those deer don’t need their mothers at that point.
The more I hunt the more I have a great respect and love for these deer. I’m not saying you all don’t I’ve jus never had any experience with managing property like that. Growing deer is cool but not for me I guess.
Id love to see those heads make it. I bought about 30 from him before he died. I loved those wolverine heads from Rocket also.

Ive hunted since i was 12 (im 20 now) and ive always enjoyed and loved to bow hunt. However this series has truly inspired and excited me to become a better hunter. It helped me appreciate bow hunting so much more. You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!

It was just babbling after the recovery. Shouldn't have said anything. He would not be a high NET scoring deer. Would likely score 140s because of the lack of symmetry between sides.

I suppose that was not the best way to put that - in the moment you say some dumb things. He would not be a high net scoring deer - probably barely making 140, but who cares about net. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Thad DeMoss gross scored him at 180 when he boiled the skull. Nothing wrong with that! But, again, if you care about net score he would be way less. But as some guys say, "Net is for fishermen"! Have a great day.

6 deer in one morning?! Wow. Up here in Ontario, I get 1 tag all season (Oct 1 - Dec 31). If I'm lucky, that tag will be good for any deer. If not, I have no choice but to take an antlered deer.

What a beast lefty is!!! He’s definitely a healthy deer cuz look at that body, pretty big bodied deer. Awesoms rack on him too! And yeah if he broke more off I wouldnt have shot him either, sucks he broke that one tine off. I love the mass on him too, some heavy looking antlers, very cool buck!

How is this a public land hunt? You just said you can get 2 deer tags because your a land owner.
Why is it that every narrator on these videos makes deer hunting sound about as exciting as getting a root canal with a hammer drill. How hard is it to find someone with at least an ounce of emotion lol. I mean, I'm a die hard hunter but some of these guys make me want to slam my head in a car door. That being said, the video itself is awesome.

Good quality videos are ruined by stupid comments like, "he's not a high scoring buck" or that he doesn't have big antlers. Dude...99.9% of the hunting population will never have a chance at a buck like that. Don't rub it in our face that you're spoiled.
I know that was a spur of the moment thing - I wish they had not used it when editing. We sometimes say stupid things. I really meant he would not score well. He has really big antlers but would score nothing because of the mismatch. I never score them anyway so it doesn't really matter. -Bill

Steven, in many counties they issue lots of tags if the population is too high for that area. You can keep buying them for $11 until the quota is filled.

6 does in one morning ? Come on man how many deer do you need ? I once was this ignorant and even though we haven't harvested a doe on any of our farms over 3 states in 5 years we still have a declining deer herd with more bucks than does and fewer deer every year. I don't care how many deer you ''think'' you have slaughtering does like this is a mistake in most every single state in America.

How can you call it public land when it's planted with very specific deer food plots? It's obviously baited down with good tasting foods for the deer.

In the area where y’all hunt what is the shooting age and when do the antler peek in growth? And awesome deer
We try to shoot bucks that are considered moderately old for the area. So in places with high hunting pressure, that might be a 3 year old. In areas with less pressure, that would likely be 5 years old. The age at which they peak is related to specific bucks - their genetics. Some don't peak until 7 or 8 years old! No, but it does have to do with good genetics and lots of ag crops around the area - and age.

How do you guys keep it so you don't ruin any meat for the morning after clips? Or was it cold
You have to get them field dressed right away and then keep them cool overnight. With guts out and the carcass laid open on a cold garage floor you can expect the meat to cool quickly. You see it all the time on backcountry trips - the key is to get them dressed right away and started cooling.

Bill does this work for beans also in terms of waiting till they are picked ??
It probably will but I have not tried it. With corn there is such a dramatic change to the field with the farmer picks it that I think the deer aren't as tuned to what is normal as they might be with beans, but either way, I think they just see it as farm equipment. I know guys that actually build blinds out of old grain wagons and that works great too. -Bill

It is the new season of Chasing November but the series was created with last year's (2016) hunts.

Just watched every episode. The story line is what makes the show amazing. Other shows briefly touch on their history on the deer. What makes this show stand out from the others is stories like Skinny's, and Lockdown's. the season long preparations on specific target deer and the ups and downs all season chasing them. I watch a lot of hunting shows such as The Crush, Whitetail Freaks, etc but they can't compare in the story line. One of the best things about whitetail hunting is the story and you guys are second to none on creating a story! This is my favorite hunting show I have ever watched and I hope a season three is being filmed or produced! Their are plenty of shows killing big deer but without a story it seems kind of empty. That is insane we kill maybe 4 deer in one day with 15 guys and I am in northeast iowa
