He’d be so proud of his descendants. Saw a short doc interview of them, they have his intellect & they look like he’s they’re dad instead of a 3 times great grandfather too.

How bad were things for a best selling black author in 1845 that he had to go to Ireland at the height of the Famine? What an incredible history.
Frederick went to Great Britain to escape being arrested as he was a fugitive slave. He escaped slavert in 1838 but he was not free.

He was not African American.. that term did not exist during Frederick Douglass's time.
That is the term he is considered today, which is why they called him an “African American”.
