I just got a 2018 G90 5.0 Ultimate AWD this past Monday. It is an AMAZING car. $37,000 cheaper than a comparably equipped BMW 7 Series. The Lexicon stereo is out of this world good. So enveloping, rich, robust, and 3D. V8 has lots of power, too. Everyone I’ve shown it to is blown away that parent company Hyundai can make such an exquisite car. I love it.

If you had to sell your new G90 right now, what would be it's value?
I just checked KBB. $57K. However, Lexus LS fully loaded private party value is $76K. So, you got screwed.

Of course, Mercedes-Bens is nicer and the benchmark of luxury cars but I will take this because it is more reliable, longer warranty and cheaper.

I will take this over a S-Class or a BMW 7 series, and a Lexus LS, the S class out of warranty is a nightmare and the BMW 7 Series when it comes to reliability, the lexus LS is the only one that competes in the reliability category but it has a V6 in the LS 500 for close to 100k fully equipped. While the Genesis G90 5.0 fully equipped is 75k the reliability is a 10.
I picked up a 2018 G90 5.0 Ultimate RWD last week. The best interior I have ever been in. I’ve crossed shopped it against the new Lexus LS 500. The rear seating space in the LS 500 is a joke. It felt very cramped. I’m about 6-ft tall, and the top of my head grazed the ceiling when seating upright. My knees felt much closer to the back of the front seat than I remember feeling in the LS 460. This was a deal breaker for me. It did not feel premium at all.
The G90, in contrast, felt cavernous in the rear-seat area. With the reclinable rear seats and a dual-screen, entertainment system, I’m sure my family will jockey over each other to sit in the back than to ride with me up in the front.
The G90 has a German-car feel from the way the door shuts to the way it rides. It reminds me of previous generations of Mercedes S500. I have driven the S550, BMW 750iL and Lexus 460. The G90 feels more premium and drives better in my opinion.
I look forward to what the next 3-years of ownership will bring. If the sum of the Genesis experience adds up to what it has promised, I can’t see myself going back to Lexus, BMW and Mercedes Benz.

Just started shopping for a Genesis, so I came to Chris for the best review as usual. Seriously, this channel should have a million subs, the best content and doesn’t take 30 minutes to get the information out.
On the car, I’m torn between the G90 now or waiting for the refresh. I saw some renderings that show the updated G90 might be a looker.
As always, thanks for your support, Dan Elliott. Now on to the cars. The 2020 G90 is supposed to be a refresh, so while some things may look different, the basic car will be the same. That being said, it will look a bit different, so if that's important to you, you should take that into consideration. Some cars start to look old once a newer design comes out, but only time will tell. Besides some cosmetics (and possibly a higher price tag), the rest of the car should be very similar. Hope this helps!
This is what Ford should have done with the Continintal , rwd & with the Coyote 5.0 V8
We understand why Ford used a twin turbo V6 setup in the Continental, Jermaine Singletary (i.e. - to save fuel), but that Coyote V8 would have been nuts. We appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!

I own a g90 ultimate and it has really impressed with it. Shifter to some getting used to with the park button. But if you want your passengers to enjoy the ride in comfort, this is your car.

My coworker owns one, and I got to say I was surprised how well it drives. Also they did a really good job with the interior. I wonder how the 2019 CT Cadillac will do.

This car is a great buy. However if you are sold on the advanced technology of the German cars..it falls short. My thought is that it will be a phenomenal used car value when the first leased ones start rolling back in the summer of 2019. Based on 2017s models going for $45K now I bet you can buy one this time next year for $35K

This or a benz? I think this, but I would take Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, Cadillac, or jaguar over this. My 2008 Lexus LS460 has 90% of all these features, if not more, and it cost me 14 grand. Not to mention, my Lexus dealer, Lexus of Santa Barbara, comes to my house as well and picks up my car to take it in for service, and gives me a complimentary loaner. Lexus customer service is unparalleled. Nice video btw!

Cadillac is trash
As an owner of two Infiniti. I would definitely take Genesis g90 over any current Infinti, Acura or Lexus. This car should be the full size saloon that Inifiniti and Acura be making. They are falling behind the luxury market fast and can’t just relied on their SUV to make money.
Genesis also comes to Pickup the vehicle for service with a loaner too

Yeah it is always going to be a Hyundai. I'm the same way about Kia. The K900 is fire but uhhh I'll settle for the Accord if those were my two choices.
I think reason why these cars feel so solid is because their steel. They use gigasteel which is supposedly strongest pound per pound steel industry has and only Korean cars uses them right now. Right now Genesis has better structure rigidity than S class they say.
I think if they change the facelift and rear design this will make a big step among Competitors... Waiting for g80 design changes next year.

German cars are really NICE but just wayyyyyy to costly when bought brand new and wayyyyyy to costly for repairs when bought used,so one day I will own a GENESIS G90,in my opinion it's the BEST luxury car for the money,oh yeah that 10 year warranty ain't to bad either....That G90 will just get better and better over the years..... But will it cruise CA State route 58 at 150 MPH between Mojave and Boron? The equivalent Benz will; right past the Hyundai California Proving Grounds access road. Be sure you've paid your 11-99 Foundation gold enrollment as you'll probably need it somewhere near that Mojave City bypass during your attempt :-)
Those cars depreciate like a rocket, these cars from this year can be had for only 40k
I have that same car. It's a V6 twin Turbo I love it, however my only drawback.
Is that it makes to be about 600 horses, 600 pound-feet of frog by highway cruising. Edit, and it definitely needs a bigger gas type for distance. Say about thirty five gallons
Like it. Just doesn't have the road presence of the CT6. It has the best swag in that category to me.
We've only been able to see the CT6 from afar, freeman Geiger, but hopefully Caddy will send us one sometime.
I've compared them both side by side in and out and the genesis wins by a mile
The CT6 is nice espescially the coca dune interior but i feel the G90 feels like a big luxury buff with a stronger road presence
I notice people that drive Lexus think Lexus are prestigious. I go to a upscale resturaant that Vallet parks cars. I noticed never once have they ever parked a Lexus even a LS in front of the resturaant. Usually the front of the place has Benz, Jaguar, Audi hell I even seen a Equus sitting in front. They usually park the Lexus and Cadillac's cars on the back row. Those to brands have pedigree but know more prestige than a K900 or Equus.

So, if you were to buy this right now, fully loaded, you would pay about $80K, including taxes. However, if you were to sell it immediately, you would sell it at about $57K, according to KBB. That's pretty shitty.

Bmw and Mercedes maintenance doesn't fit in my vision lol I've watched over 20 videos about this car and all have said the same thing that this vehicle is a steal when it comes to fully loaded luxury vehicle.

This car does not match well against a Mercedes S Class or even a Lexus LS 460/500. I own a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 (G80) and I am not interested in this vehicle. I would definitely purchase the S Class all day.
