Great video. I can’t get my gpx file to show up on the right side when trying to sync. It’s just a blank white screen. It’s the file from Strava. Does it need to be from a garmin gps?
Too bad Garmin Virb cameras were so unreliable - I had 1 of each version they made and they showed so much promise giving raw footage with the overlay already on there... you just couldn't get the things to film at all reliably. This seems like a level of editing sophistication I don't have but someday I'll have to watch this again and try. Great Content! Thanks.
This is excellent, but wait ... did you use your GoPro camera to log your GPS data? Or did you use some external device (Garmin?) to upload your GPS data to a Garmin server? When you joined your GoPro video segments together ... did they include GPS data in the video? Sorry for the naive questions, I've never touched any GPS tracking before. Thanks!
Works perfect, but one issue. With vertical format video with overlays in image, once output is saved the overlays appear off the the left in a black border vs where they were on the video?
Thanks for your video, the prod quality is top notch :)! I have a question; I used my gopro h9's gps today, for the first time, doing some mtb-ing, and i'm not impressed by the accuracy. The speedometer is way off. For example, it shows me going 30km/h while standing completely still. The speed also lags, like i'm stuck at 4km/h for some time, and suddenly it jumps to 20km/h. Do you suppose opting for a garmin bike computer and synch that with the recording of my gopro(like you do) would yield better results? In other words, ditch the gps data frorm the gopro and instead "merge" the gps data from garmin into Virb or Telemetry Overlay?
Good question. Im not sure that’s doable in garmin Virb. I would export the whole ride with GPS, bring it back into your video editor, then edit out the parts I don’t want to show.
@@ShredYard i tried it today. It actually worked quite well. I did 4 different gopro clips, and synced at the start of the ride. And whenever I moved to the next clip I just added the GPx file again and synced again Worked great :) its on my channel if your interested.
gopro has a lot of things pending in software, it doesn't even use all the camera's hardware. gps is unreliable, or an extra step must be done to get the data file. Editing in quik is not easy, neither on the phone nor on the pc.
Im having problems with the Virb edit. Been searching on the web and no solutions. Hoping you could shed some light. Getting error mentioning graphics card update. Maybe something to do with the video quality. Im recording at 4k resolution with GoPro 9. I couldn’t continue to edit the video which is really disappointing.
Wow dude, watched your video and thought you have like 250k subs+ and then I saw you only have 900 and I was shocked. Great content buddy. I have a question. Can you import the gps data from gopro without using another gps record device?
hi thanks for the video! i have a question. Can we show the data overlay if the video is built from rendered photos? for example: i have 1000 gopro photos that showing my trips that taken continously every 5 seconds. then i want to make them into a video that contain the data overlay such as speed, tracking, coordinates etc. is it possible? thank you
@@user-dogmeat yes i already set it. the camera will take a photo every 5 seconds.. how do we export the photos as to sequenced video without losing the meta data? i once try to build the video from the photos i have but turns out no data about tracking/speed etc in it.. do you have any video reference/tutorial of it? thank youu.
@@extremesportsandmore5799 the Gopro app for using gps is decent and for most people it has the basic metrics. It’s quick and simple. But I hate editing on my phone. The garmin virb software is so much more advanced and if I’m already capturing those metrics on my garmin gps why not use that
Technically yes, but you would have to re sync and match the garmin telemetry every time you stop and start, which would be a pain in the butt. I wouldn’t recommend that
Why isn't your subcount raising faster? Dudes got:
- Content
- Quality and skill

I hope I'll be here the day you get big, love ur work :)
It’s all good. Plus this means you’re in the sub 1000 club

I thought you were going to show a way to get the GPS data from the PoPro--which you can with other software.
Thanks for the tutorial! What settings would you recommend for night time road cycling on the go pro 9?
Try 24 FPS / 4k / Wide and ISO 1600

Awesome video! Do you know if this is the same software that SAFA Brian uses for his video overlays?

Why are't many cycling templates in the latest version of VIRB ? just one or two .... Mine is not like yours
Not sure but maybe you can download an earlier version. I’m on 5.4.3
