Pretty good, lots of coverage. However despite its stats, Articuno is the worst of the Legendary Birds (4x rock weakness plus Steel, Electric and Fire). It depends on how you distribute the moves and their types, but you really can't go wrong in these games (with a logical team at least). I give it a 🅱️/10.
You have to trade to get Gengar. Trade evolutions are already annoying, but since you have to pay for the Switch's online functions, trade evolutions are out of the question for a lot of people.
I played L-Go Pikachu and used: Pikachu, Venusaur, Arcanine, Alakazam, Lapras, and Rhydon (which I eventually switched for Dragonite which I transferred from PoGo)
I have Let's go Eevee and my starters so far are: Eevee(of course, and he's pretty powerful from the start), Pikachu, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Ivysaur, and Kadabra. I think I'm going to switch Kadabra out with Nidoran, since Nidoking is that powerful. Other than that I like all of my other 4 starters. Thanks for the tip MysticUmbreon.
For Lets Go Pikachu! Almost the same except... 1. Pikachu- Thunderbolt, Splishy Splash, Brick break, Facade/ Floaty fall. 2. NidoKing- Poison jab, Earthquake, Thunder punch, (Atk stat use), Mega horn/ Ice beam/punch (again, Atk stat plus psychic coverage... careful though). 3. Venusaur- Same as video! Great moves. 4. Arcanine- (mirror of Ninetails) Flamethrower/Flareblitz, Willo-wisp, Crunch (Ninetails uses, dark pulse which is special, Arcanine is more physical) Dragon pulse. 5. Snorlax - (Pinser had better moveset than Scyther and a couple better stats) Rest, Body Slam, Toxic, Rock slide/Reflect (cover Snorlax weaker Def and bulk it; also Pinsir has Rock slide for team coverage) 6. Starmie - Psychic, Ice beam, Scald, Dazzling Gleam/ T-bolt. (Dazzling Gleam replaces what Eevee would have had and we already have two Pokemon who know electric coverage moves although starmie can take down other waters with T-bolt plus anything weak to electricity.) Give Pikachu some love!
Hey, Mystic, I've been experimenting with different Pokemon for my team, since the possibilities are surprisingly vast for a relatively small game. In specifics, I've decided to try using Kingler, Hitmonlee and Venomoth for the three remaining party members (Of course, I stuck to getting Nidoking and Venusaur since both are big juggernauts in Kanto). Do you have any suggestions for a moveset involving any of the three additions?
My biggest complaint with Let's Go is the lack of Water-type Pokémon available fairly early on. Your only options are the Magikarp line, Psyduck line, and Squirtle line until you get Sea Skim. The earliest you can get a Water-type is the Magikarp you can buy just before Mt. Moon, but you have to grind it to get a Gyarados that can actually use Water-type moves. I think the grinding is worth it, though, especially given how powerful Gyarados is. Yes, you will be stuck with Scald for STAB until you learn Waterfall at Level 31, but Gyarados' base 60 special attack is comparable to Wartortle's base 65 (the other decent Water type that is accessible at that point in the game), and being a fully-evolved Pokémon, its defenses are definitely superior to Wartortle. Once you get Waterfall, you will be hitting harder than Blastoise, at an earlier level (as Wartortle does not evolve until Level 36). Gyarados also gets strong physical Dark coverage (Crunch) that lets it dominate Sabrina's gym (Blastoise does get Dark coverage too with Bite, but its strongest Dark coverage is the special Dark Pulse). The only downsides are that Gyarados' mega is not available until the post-game (unlike Blastoise's mega which is available just before Giovanni's gym), and Gyarados has a slightly slower experience rate. Psyduck does not evolve until level 33 so you will be stuck with a subpar Pokémon for quite some time if you go with that. Moveset wise, Gyarados can use the following: - Scald (TM29 upon evolution) -> Waterfall (level 31) - Bite (learned at time of evolution) -> Crunch (level 36) - Headbutt (TM01 upon evolution) -> Earthquake (TM41, available after defeating Giovanni's gym) - Tackle (filler slot at time of evolution) -> Dragon Tail (level 26) -> Outrage (Level 41) Keep in mind that Water/Normal coverage is unresisted in this game. Unfortunately Gyarados cannot learn Thrash until getting access to the Move Reminder at Indigo Plateau, so Headbutt will have to suffice. You can overwrite Headbutt with TM12 Facade (double base power when paralyzed, burned, or poisoned) as soon as that is available if you are concerned about status afflictions, though the base power is the same as Headbutt without status and you lose out on the flinch chance. Note that by the time you have access to Thrash you will have much better coverage moves like Outrage (AKA Thrash with a superior typing) and Earthquake anyways. Another great Pokémon in Let's Go would have to be Alolan Raichu. The in-game trade for it comes just before Erika and the Rocket Hideout (as soon as you can give Tea to the guard outside Saffron City), both places where a Psychic-type will prove useful. Electric/Psychic is also very useful in Kanto, plus you get the EXP boost for traded Pokémon. A moveset for it would be as follows: - Thunderbolt (TM36) - Psychic (TM40, available from Mr. Psychic's house at the same time you get Alolan Raichu) - Double Team -> Calm Mind (TM33, available after beating Sabrina) - Filler move (the TMs for Brick Break, Seismic Toss, Iron Tail, and Hyper Beam are all possible options here)
Late, but Alakazam can also be obtained through GO Park. I completed the Pokédex before the Elite Four (there was a Mewtwo mystery gift, so no I did not give away a good legendary).
I loved playing with Eevee but they really played favorites here between it and pikachu. I just ran my Eevee as normal instead of using it's new moves since the extra base stats made it pretty decent for a casual playthrough.
How is it playing favorites? Pikachu has been the favorite pokemon across ever game and media for the last 20 years? If anything, i dont think eevee got a big enough jump ahead of pikachu, but that is just my opinion of course
ive gone through a ton of changes, but this is my final team, no more changes hopefully Starmie Eevee Magneton Gengar Flareon Dragonite i have had alot of different team but this is my favourite
i went for a basic nostalgia kanto team: Snorlax: ice punch, brick break, headbutt, and fire punch Venasaur: earthquake, sludge bomb, mega drain, and leech seed Blastoise: waterfall, ice beam, surf, and bite Machamp: strength, brick break, submission, and bulk up Alakazam: psychic, recover, shadow ball, and calm mind Charizard: fly, earthquake, dragon pulse, and flamethrower it might change a little, since i'm still on victory road
Question about Nidoking? Why Ice Beam and Thunderbolt when you can go for Ice Punch and Thuder Punch? Nidoking has higher physical attack than special attack, so the punch moves, with them being physical moves rather special moves, would, in my opinion, be an option that makes more sense. Also... The team seems to lacking some fighting type moves... How about giving Pisnir Brick Brick instead of Earthquake or Rock Slide?
I really don’t see how eevee is the best starter. None of the coverage moves eevee gets are stab while pikachu gets stab electric moves. And even with all the coverage moves eevee has pikachu gets enough to fill its moveset easily. Not to mention there a dozen better normal types in gen 1, why would you wanna take up your normal type slot with an eevee? Sorry boys you made a bad call on this one.
Eevee takes neutral damage from almost every opposing important trainer, its special moves mean it'll be able to have a 90 base power super effective move in basically every major battle (plus they have some pretty good secondary effects like guaranteed paralysis, burn, or setting up screens). Pikachu, on the other hand, doesn't get all of that great coverage and secondary effects, meaning it has an overall worse matchup than Eevee during important battles.
Frénk pikachu gets hit neutrally by most things too, except flying and electric which it resists. Eevee has no resistances just an immunity to ghost, which there are hardly any of in Kanto. Yes pikachu gets less special moves but the ones it does have have effects too.
Rivalrich Pikachu might also have Special moves, but it's nowhere near the excellent coverage Eevee has. Its special effects also aren't as good as Eevee's (chance to paralyse, chance to flinch, priority+crit from 50 BP STAB) as opposed to Eevee's (guaranteed Paralysis or Burn, instant Leech Seed or screens, health recovery). Starter Pikachu is a great pokémon, but Eevee is just better in more situations and can support its team a lot more (and I hate to admit it because I'm a Pikachu fan myself).
It was really cool when I was doing my playthrough of eevee i had a coworker who had pikachu and he was really into pokemon go where he had a lot of alolan version pokemon and he was able to transfer some of them over to my game and I ended up having alolan raichu in my hall of fame
Ninetales is the best Pokémon in my opinion (aside from Chesnaught but he was my first Pokémon) and Vulpix is among the cutest Pokémon. I am so happy Ninetales is here.
It's cool but I think using 1 starter is ok 2 starter is kinda of cheating but... *3 STARTERS?!* I'm not telling you how to make a good team But Using 3 starters is really unfair for all the good pokemon in kanto...
@@omar._.2117 who cares when they're available? I like the starters too as I have built up connections with them so they do random buffs in combat like shrug off status effects etc.
5:49 I literally just taught my incoming poison jab an earthquake right when he said this, but I chose ice punch and thunder punch instead of they’re special attack counterparts
Honestly this is a good team for Let’s Go Eevee, and the team you made for Let’s Go Pikachu is good too, but for me I made some improvements. For starters, in Let’s Go Pikachu, I changed the 3rd and 4th moves of Nidoking from Thunderbolt and Ice Beam to Brick Break and Megahorn, and for Let’s Go Eevee, I swapped out Nidoking for Nidoqueen and gave it the moves Sludge Bomb, Drill Run, Brick Break and Thunderbolt. I also swapped Eevee’s Facade/Double-Edge for Gltizy Glow. Secondly, for Let’s Go Pikachu, I swapped around Arcanine and Snorlax, making Arcanine the fourth member and replaced Snorlax, who is now the third member, with Vileplume. I also did the same thing with Venusaur for the Eevee Team, but I replaced it with Victreebel. Thirdly, I replaced Scyther and Pinsir, respectively, with Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, respectively. And finally, I replaced Starmie in the Pikachu Team with Slowbro. Because honestly, even though these teams are good, when I make teams for Main Series Pokemon Games, I use Pokémon I haven’t used before in any other teams and not use Pokémon I have already used before, with only two exceptions being Decidueye and Lycanroc, with Decidueye being my starter for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, while I used Midday Lycanroc for Ultra Sun and Midnight Lycanroc for Ultra Moon.
You're forgetting, Brock, Misty and Giovanni are the only gym leaders fixed to a specific point in the game. After you get Secret Technique sea skim, then you can skip to the silph co part and then you can get flamethrower. In fact, if you skip all the way to when you get Sea Skim and Sky Dash, you can fly back to Pallet Town and surf to Cinnabar Island and get the fossil pokemon which will make it easier to catch Zapdos and Articuno and then you'll have some level 40 pokemon with a mere two gym badges.
Here is a big brain strat for the league, use 5 teams since you can use your boxes anywhere, even the league. Make the first 4 teams to counter the elite 4 then use this to counter trace
My Final Team Rhydon (Rock Slide, Earthquake, Superpower and Megahorn) Blastoise (Flash Cannon, dragon Pulse, Hydro Pump and Scald) Mewtwo (Psychic, Solar Beam, Foul Play and Poison Jab) Moltres (Air Slash, Fire Blast, Solar Beam and Heat Wave) Zapdos (Drill Peck, Thunderbolt, Toxic and Headbutt) Articuno (Blizzard, Ice Beam, Headbutt and Facade)
No. While Bellsprout is much easier to find, it is not better. Victreebel’s movepool is baaaaaad. Full of Grass, Poison, and Normal moves except for Leach Life and Sucker Punch by Level Up and Rest and Reflect by TM. Victreebel even has a Lower BST than Venusaur and lacks a Mega Evolution. Not saying Victreebel is bad, but Venusaur is just better.
My team was: 1: Pikachu 2: Nidoqueen 3: Hitmonchan 4: Dodrio 5: Lapras 6: I forgot to think about because I 'm too uses to leaving the slot open. Also, you got two Poison types on your team. It's best not to include two Pokemon from the same type on your final team.
Idc im going 3 Kanto starters (Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur), Raichu/Gengar, Snorlax, Nidoking. Isnt the main point of the game to have all 3 starters?
I'm gonna wacth this for every single pokemon game I play I'm too self conscious that my team won't be good enough and I've played with your teams before and I always win
My final team: Venusaur: Leech Seed - Helps to regeneration Mega Drain - Regeneration Toxic - Stalling Petal Dance - Whenever you want to 1 shot something Blastoise: Scald - Inflicts Burns Ice Beam - RIP Dragon types Headbutt - Provides flinches and can take out most types water moves struggle against Earthquake - RIP Steel / Electric Charizard: Fly - High damage flying move Flamethrower - Well obviously.. Dragon Pulse - Helpful against dragons, considering Charizard isn't even a Dragon type it's pretty useful. Dig - Helpful against rock and electric types that you can outspeed. Raichu Thunder punch - Does a lot of damage as Raichu has a higher attack stat Thunder / Thunderbolt - Doesn't really matter just useful if the opposing pokemon has a stupidly low special defence. Dig - Takes out fellow electric types and poison types. Thunderwave - Just to be annoying ;) Eevee: Bouncy Bubble - Heals Eevee Baddy Bad - For it's perk Headbutt / Facade - Good STAB moves (Any move, maybe dig?) Pidgeot: Heatwave - Cool fire attack (I didn't actually use Heatwave on my first playthrough) Fly - Powerful flying attack Air slash - High flinch chance (Whatever move you want) Being as this game is quite easy these aren't exactly strategy setups they're just useful damage wise. (Yes my team is like Red's)
I think my team is decent 1. Nimbasa (Eevee) 2. Prince (Nidoking) 3. Trike (Pikachu) 4. Deku (Venusaur) 5. Cannon Boy (Blastoise) 6. Naveen (Charizard)

Pinsir and Ninetails are exclusive to Let’s Go Eevee. They’re pretty good Pokemon.
@@hypurnova couldnt u just get those via pokemon go tho
I actually did this in a play through. Gave me a newfound and strong appreciation for Starmie XD
Is mine okay? My team is:
1. Pikachu
2. Venusaur
3. Blastoise
4. Charizard
5. Articuno
6. Haunter
Why haunter?
You have to trade to get Gengar. Trade evolutions are already annoying, but since you have to pay for the Switch's online functions, trade evolutions are out of the question for a lot of people.

That is the exact same team I have right now except I have clefairy too
It’s not even letting me put thunderbolt on my Alakazam
Devon Vander Zwaag Ask nicely
Try to put it on a Alakazam's preevolution
It can’t learn thunderbolt. But it can learn the elemental punches.
It can learn Thunder Punch but Alakazam has weak attack, so not the best move for it
For Lets Go Pikachu! Almost the same except...
1. Pikachu- Thunderbolt, Splishy Splash, Brick break, Facade/ Floaty fall.
2. NidoKing- Poison jab, Earthquake, Thunder punch, (Atk stat use), Mega horn/ Ice beam/punch (again, Atk stat plus psychic coverage... careful though).
3. Venusaur- Same as video! Great moves.
4. Arcanine- (mirror of Ninetails) Flamethrower/Flareblitz, Willo-wisp, Crunch (Ninetails uses, dark pulse which is special, Arcanine is more physical) Dragon pulse.
5. Snorlax - (Pinser had better moveset than Scyther and a couple better stats) Rest, Body Slam, Toxic, Rock slide/Reflect (cover Snorlax weaker Def and bulk it; also Pinsir has Rock slide for team coverage)
6. Starmie - Psychic, Ice beam, Scald, Dazzling Gleam/ T-bolt. (Dazzling Gleam replaces what Eevee would have had and we already have two Pokemon who know electric coverage moves although starmie can take down other waters with T-bolt plus anything weak to electricity.)
Give Pikachu some love!
I'm gonna use this team, except Gyarados instead of starmie.
What about zippyzap replacing thunderbolt?

Yay, before April when I might get the game and switch!
Am I the only one who used all three Kanto starters? I mean I had the option.... so I did.....
Moveset wise, Gyarados can use the following:
- Scald (TM29 upon evolution) -> Waterfall (level 31)
- Bite (learned at time of evolution) -> Crunch (level 36)
- Headbutt (TM01 upon evolution) -> Earthquake (TM41, available after defeating Giovanni's gym)
- Tackle (filler slot at time of evolution) -> Dragon Tail (level 26) -> Outrage (Level 41)
Keep in mind that Water/Normal coverage is unresisted in this game.
A moveset for it would be as follows:
- Thunderbolt (TM36)
- Psychic (TM40, available from Mr. Psychic's house at the same time you get Alolan Raichu)
- Double Team -> Calm Mind (TM33, available after beating Sabrina)
- Filler move (the TMs for Brick Break, Seismic Toss, Iron Tail, and Hyper Beam are all possible options here)
Tbh that is a compliant for all games set in kanto
Late, but Alakazam can also be obtained through GO Park. I completed the Pokédex before the Elite Four (there was a Mewtwo mystery gift, so no I did not give away a good legendary).
I loved playing with Eevee but they really played favorites here between it and pikachu. I just ran my Eevee as normal instead of using it's new moves since the extra base stats made it pretty decent for a casual playthrough.
How is it playing favorites? Pikachu has been the favorite pokemon across ever game and media for the last 20 years? If anything, i dont think eevee got a big enough jump ahead of pikachu, but that is just my opinion of course

i went for a basic nostalgia kanto team:
Snorlax: ice punch, brick break, headbutt, and fire punch
Venasaur: earthquake, sludge bomb, mega drain, and leech seed
Blastoise: waterfall, ice beam, surf, and bite
Machamp: strength, brick break, submission, and bulk up
Alakazam: psychic, recover, shadow ball, and calm mind
Charizard: fly, earthquake, dragon pulse, and flamethrower
it might change a little, since i'm still on victory road
Question about Nidoking? Why Ice Beam and Thunderbolt when you can go for Ice Punch and Thuder Punch? Nidoking has higher physical attack than special attack, so the punch moves, with them being physical moves rather special moves, would, in my opinion, be an option that makes more sense.
Also... The team seems to lacking some fighting type moves... How about giving Pisnir Brick Brick instead of Earthquake or Rock Slide?
U are right
Nidokings physical stats are stronger than its special stats
After reading partner Eevee's moveset, all I can say is "Broken."
@@upgamerFranzo But it really doesnt matter as both starters are shit. Jolteon it is
@@tehSunBro Actually they’re both pretty powerful. They’re much stronger than the regular ones.

With my Nidoqueen I didn’t know where to find the moonstone so I still had a Nidorina after Lieutenant Serge.
Dang old 396Dog you could have just googled it bud
My team:
Mewtwo
Articuno
Moltres
Zaptos
Nidoking
Nidoqueen
And yes, I already completed the main storyline of the game so I have those Pokémon.
Congrats on the most noob team ever built
I can understand mewtwo but why all of the legendaries on your team?
My team was this but nidoqueen instead of nidoking...
Not that much of a difference right?
CorgiCop3000 No not really

Would it be possibly wise for me to swap bulbasaur with bellsprout? Especially since it’s an easy encounter and bigger move pool?

Ice Beam - RIP Dragon types
Headbutt - Provides flinches and can take out most types water moves struggle against
Earthquake - RIP Steel / Electric
Charizard:
Fly - High damage flying move
Flamethrower - Well obviously..
Dragon Pulse - Helpful against dragons, considering Charizard isn't even a Dragon type it's pretty useful.
Dig - Helpful against rock and electric types that you can outspeed.
Raichu
Thunder punch - Does a lot of damage as Raichu has a higher attack stat
Thunder / Thunderbolt - Doesn't really matter just useful if the opposing pokemon has a stupidly low special defence.
Dig - Takes out fellow electric types and poison types.
Thunderwave - Just to be annoying ;)
Eevee:
Bouncy Bubble - Heals Eevee
Baddy Bad - For it's perk
Headbutt / Facade - Good STAB moves

Pidgeot:
Heatwave - Cool fire attack (I didn't actually use Heatwave on my first playthrough)
Fly - Powerful flying attack
Air slash - High flinch chance
