Hydroblast and Pyroblast can target and color spell or permanent. It's super corner case but you can Hydroblast a blue creature like Phantasmal Bear, and while it won't destroy it, it will trigger the Bears effect. It almost never comes up.
It comes up more often if you are playing terror and NEED another instant/sorcery in your yard, and can power up your prowess creatures in a pinch too for mono red (pyroblast ofc)
Their were a few cards I decided to exclude from this list just due to them being paid tribal counter spells like Spell Stutter and such. Didn't Say Please isn't. Tribal counter so I'm not sure why it didn't make the top 35 counters. It may be that it literally isn't played in any decks. I'm gonna take a look, you have me curious because it's not a terrible Counterspells.
Hell yah brother! I try my best to present the most accurate and reasonable rankings and ratings. I like to use both my own experience from playing backed with analytics and data from different sources for pauper! Appreciate it dude!!!
Did I miss Power Sink? I know it hasn't been popular in a long time (for good reason since it's an X spell), but the fact that your opponent doesn't have the option to not try to pay the X gave it some added utility. In the best case it was "Don't do that but also don't do anything else until you untap next time." and that could be back breaking. Even if you didn't have enough mana for the full counter, it could still be used to tap down a bunch of their lands as a tempo play and drastically limit what they were able to do. We used to be gigantic A holes with that card. Lol
I went off of the 35 most played Counterspells. I was literally scraping the bottom of the barrel to reach 35 Counterspells so if power sink wasn't I. Here it means it's less played in registered pauper decks than the rest of these Counterspells!
Gotcha. That seems like a shame considering some of what was actually in the top end. In the right deck it could be a far better option than a pretty big portion of the list in my opinion. Some of those are just awful. Lol
@@jrunestad4508 Agreed some of the are absolutely trash, but for whatever reason they all see more play in decks/sideboards than Power Sink. I actually happen to play Power Sink in my cPdh decks

Thanks for clearing it up, I couldn't remember it off the top of my head while recording so I appreciate the feedback!
Excellent point! Probably why the popularity and copies played % is such drastic difference between the two.
Also relevant vs Standard Bearer when Boggles is doing well
Love the videos. Love pauper.
In vel op. Envelop.
Thanks I appreciate it! I'll keep it up as long as my fans keep Asking for more content!
Didn’t say please? I may have missed it, but I’d be using a play set of it in a Dimir Deck.
Excellent video. S and A tiers are non-arguable

I’d say this is 100% accurate

Would have been awesome to get a closeup of the card while you're talking about it.
I'll keep that in mind when I make the next video!
Is your intro music selfmade or whats the song?
