Thanks for watching guys and sorry for being a little late with this one... SAABSCRIBE!
Ola ive been searching for hours, what is the song that you played in the "all amps sound the same" test? or is there a tab anywhere?
"Saabscribe"? I think you're drakken the joke just a bit too far!
Dear Ola,
Thank you for showing me this for until now I was a blind man looking for the almighty-ear-obliterating-shred-fest of an album that would cause such pleasures I'd never even dare to dream about in my wildest nightmares. Holy shit Dead Heart in a Dead World is fcking good.
Thanks man!
redan prenumererade! Hope GTranslate got it ok, sounds totally diferente to other languages.
When you were doing the solo at the end. You did great but you made it so funny I was crying. Thank you for being the best and getting me to start playing agian. How do I become a "member" and get access to the lessons and such.
This Godless Endeavor is one of the best metal records ever made
100% Agree!
@@JoelTenor ditto :)
Absolutely 🤘
Yeah
YES
We can say we all waited for this no?
Hell yeah
Yup!
Yup
God I feel old... Everyone is talking about how this was the first time they'd heard Nevermore and I remember Sanctuary from being in high school...
Nevermore were the band that got me into 7 Strings as well, heard enemies of reality and it changed a lot about my playing and gear.
You guys do know the story, that Jeff Loomis auditioned for Megadeth, back in 1988.He didn't obviously got the job,but not because he wasn't good enough,on the contrary Mustaine was impressed, but because he was only 16 at the time and Dave thought,he was too young,to go on tour with them.
david was got shocked by jeff playing when he was 16 and he was too young to touring with megadeth and to be honest he kick soo join in arch enemy i hope nevermore can.being reunion if is impossible or possible. and hopefully still wait for his lastest single.
Sorry, but I don't care what Mustaine "says", he wanted someone who would just be a lead guitarist and not upstage him on rhythm and writing too. Dave was barely over 16 when he joined Metallica. If you wanna be real about maturity and even actual age in years, Dave was barely over 16 in 1988 still, lols. Love Daves music btw, but yea. When you get right down to it, it's probably the same reason Ammot doesn't want Loomis writing stuff for Arch Enemy.
@@aylbdrmadison1051 Dave's an ass, but if that was the true reason then he wouldn't have hired Friedman. Marty ran circles around Mustaine too, and i doubt from the audition that he could tell Marty wouldnt push to be a writer and Jeff would.
With all the drinking, sex and drugs that Megadeth indulged in back in the late 80s, I think bringing a 16 year old into the mix wouldve been a problem lol
He composed Miles of Machines before that :D awesome, isn't it?
@@jesus4pincho Really? Source?
Most legendary metal guitar sound ever. Got so many of us into this freaking world of 7-string, high-gain crazy stuff. Thanks so much Ola!
I can't even explain how happy this video made me. Awesome tone. Legendary Album. Ola playing all my favorite riffs. 🤘👽
My friend showed me ur vids recently and now im part of ur notification squad. Good friends tell their friends about Ola. Love ur vids. Keep being a super cool dude.
The early Nevermore records (along with Sanctuary) were very important to me. Loomis is the reason I play 7 strings as well. Do not overlook Dreaming neon black. RIP Warrel, you were truly a tortured soul, and one of the best metal singers that ever existed.
I checked this album out when you first uploaded this and I have to say thank you, Ola. It's definitely one of my favorite albums now!
Absolutely love this album, the riffs and solos bij Jeff are just perfect and Ola is doing a great job again with recreating the tone and music!!
Jeffs riffs are juicy. There's a riff in My Acid Words that makes me want to punch mountains
Just one? (I kid.)
Siiiiiick! Dreaming Neon Black was the first Nevermore album I heard but Dead heart was absolutely amazing! Loved all their later work too. Thanks for this vid!
Dude, when you launched into the "River Dragon" intro, I got chills. I'm a massive fan of the tones on that record.
Nevermore rule, Jeff Loomis rips it on guitar. Rip Warrel Dane.
Hes absaloutly incredible. Nicest and most humble guy ever. Hes the reason why I play 7 string sometimes.
The Ola video we've all been waiting for! Talk to your buddy Loomis into doing a tribute tour!
This is one of your best videos yet. Keep up the amazing work!
Also realised just how many times I've listened to Nevermore because I recognised EVERY riff in there xD
One of the best guitar sounds I have heard you make. Love it!
"Eeeeeeeenergize MEEEE" oh damn, gotta listen to the whole thing now. What a masterpiece... Great video Ola, thanks for putting it up!
That was great......one of my all-time favourite albums, and you did a great job. Just found your channel, and haven't stopped binge watching in for days.....great stuff!
This video is a godsend. Got my first 7 string and want to learn some nevermore riffs now. Thank you Ola you are beautiful.
I love how he looks so amazed every single time he plays Loomis' riffs.
Oh man, that longsleeve really brings me back. Great times for Nevermore between In Memory and Enemies of Reality...
was just listening to nevermore yesterday after not listening to them for ages. Jeff loomis awesomeness made me buy my very first 7 string guitar back in the day, and it was obviously a hellraiser c7. One of the OG ones from 2005. Also rip warrel dane.
"Oh you noise gate, taking away all my pride..." sounds like a country song.
First Nevermore song I heard was what tomorrow knows on a radio metal show back in 1995.
I still remember it like it was this morning that riff and Warrel`s voice entering "Dreams lie smashed again..." it became my favorite band right then and there and it still is.
Nevermore was the best metal band I've heard in the last 20 years
I do enjoy Nevermore myself ..
Also check out Extol, Fleshkiller, and Living Sacrifice ..
I randomly stumbled upon them in '97 from the "Love Bites" cover they did on a Judas Priest album of all things. When I first heard that track, I was completely blown away and had to find out more. Ended up getting PoE and thought it was an amazing album that combined some of my favorite things about metal, and they had not even hit their stride yet.
@ cappy from boston : Absolutely, for one thing Nevermore had a singer, a rare thing in metal after the 90's. Unless you actually like emo singers in metal. I even like emo singing in emo music, but that's not metal.
Only CD's I ever bought, have all their albums, but my first was Politics Of Ecstasy, at this time I listened to hardcore techno and wore baggies with skater shoes, I was new-metal long time before it was born ;) I didn't understand one word in english but the emotions of that music transported enough information so I think it influenced me and my view on the world and society even if I didn't understand what they was singing.
If I had to pic just one band to listen to forevermore, I'd pic Nevermore without a second thought.
Totally true what you said about Nevermore and Jeff. Loomis is the Yngwie of metal with awsome rythm guitar too, inspired me to pick up learning guitar again.
Ola, big fan love your content! You save me hours of time researching gear with these videos & you're hilarious. Watching you has inspired me to play as much as I possibly can. Badarse tone! Keep doing you man.
Dreaming Neon Black is the one that blew me away. It still blows me away how absolutely crushing the riffs and tone are on that album, and only in Eb. Its probably one of the biggest reasons why I dont detune that much. D standard is as low as I usually go. That album made me work on my technique like you wouldn't believe. I always figured if he could make Eb sound that brutal, then I'd have to too.
Ola, I want to thank you for the awesome content of yours! It is so refreshing and genuine to see you do what you love to do. Greetings from Black Forest Germany \m/
Very nice work, thank you Ola. Seeing you playing with a different but still great tone is pleasant.
Long time extreme fan of nevermore, this playing and the tone are so on point!!!!
I used to listen a lot to the track Seed Awakening because it was the first track I discovered on a sample with a magazine and I felt in love with this majestic dark voice and guitar sounds just amazing here too !
IMO this is the best tone i've ever heard on your channel. Brilliant! Thanks!
Thank you man for playing these sic riffs. I have so many great memories listening to nevermore🤔. Much obliged brother!!!
12:15 That riff in Sound of Silence is one of my absolute favorites and a fine example of the genius of Jeff Loomis. Also, the solo to Engines of Hate is possibly my favorite guitar solo OAT as well. Hail Jeff Loomis.
The best part about this is hearing Ola geek out about Nevermore. This band and album changed my life and this tone was MASSIVE.
Awesome! Thank you for pointing out his killer riffs. His leads are incredible, but his riffs are just as fantastic.
Now THIS is how to use a Recto! Love the attention to detail with the string gauge & pick. ❤️
Tellement merci à Ola pour avoir fait cette super vidéo, ça me donne toujours envie d'acheter du nouveau matériel...
Merci aussi au gars qui a fait les sous-titres en français 😉
And add to that Warrel's vocals. What an amazing band! One of a kind. Respect.
Nevermore especially this album is the best metal ive ever heard. Man its just perfect
Crazy to think how long ive been watching your videos. Love all the new content, never fails to give me a laugh and make me want to play my guitar! Also solar guitars looking hot!
Anything Jeff Loomis does just crushes! That midrange growl is the best tone.
This video was awesome riff after awesome riff! Great playing, and that tone! Thanks Ola.
I love how you fanboy-out in this video. You remind me of me getting excited about one of my favorite guitarists, and tying my hardest to emulate. Very non-arrogant-Ola
One of the best tones ever!!
DHIADW - the album that introduced me to Nevermore, and one of my favorite metal albums ever. They combined extreme heaviness with melody, clean singing, and great musicianship. Warrel Dane's voice was in top form on this album.
Definitely one of my favorite albums as well. I would listen to it like crazy. Nevermore was definitely a great metal band for the time especially when metal was almost nonexistent in the 90s.
Holy shit ola, hearing you play all those nevermore riffs was orgasmic. They're easily one of my top 5 favorite bands.
Ola! You just made my iPhone open Siri with “...crank the CD...”😱
That’s amazing! 😂😂😂
Harm Bos totally worth it!
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦🍒😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣
Jordin Sloväk
That was... Graphic, in a way...
I need to revisit that album, Loomis is a big inspiration for me. Thats the Tone
For what it's worth, back in the day, it was a bass 80 which are dual wound and a little bit easier on the hands. This brought back memories of ravaging bass string packs for my seven string.
First video I see of you Ola. I'll dig into your channel for sure! The tone sounds spot on to me.
youre the best dude, keep up the good work and most importantly, loving what you do!!
that channel switch at 9:25min was TOOOOIGHT!!!! :-D keep it up! Nevermore riffs have the most groove of all bands in the 7-string metal universe
One of their best for sure.
One of the best sounding set ups
Nice video Ola, Jeff is one of my favorite guitarists, in regards to both ability and tone!
hey Ola your videos are getting much better recently keep it up
I love it when he says: this is my video and I do what I want!
NEVERMORE, not even watched it yet and i’m excited.
I love your videos Ola you have a great sense of humour
Dead Heart in a Dead World is just a killer album. The production and songwriting is top notch. Such catchy heavy songs!!.!!!!
Inspiring me everyday, thank you Ola
Jeff Loomis One of my favorites , good stuff Ola Thanks and keep it up.........That's what she said.
I’ve watched many of your videos. I’ve been following since back before we really knew what you looked like and you would just see a random amp and some hands with a guitar making nasty sounds. This is probably my favorite guitar sound I’ve heard from you. Makes sense considering Mr.Loomis is indeed one of if not my favorite guitarist. His riffs, his writing, his leads and solos. COMPLETE PACKAGE comes to mind. To hear this sound almost live is DISGUSTING. THE CRUNCH IS SO MOUTH WATERING. Awesome video Ola. You played stoically and did this sound justice. I have a 5150iii 50 watt with matching 2x12 cab and an od808 with a schecter Damien 7(older model). I will try to mimic this with what I have at my disposal.
Went total giddy school girl (I’m a guy btw) watching this. My favorite guitar tone from my favorite album by my favorite band by my favorite youtuber. I’ve been listening to Dead Heart in a Dead World since I was a teen when I first discovered it. Still get goosebumps listening to it cranked...ok I’ll stop now...lol.
Yea, stop now. You didn't leave anything for me to say, that pretty much summed it up already, lols.
Awww, Ola was channeling his inner fanboy again:) Jeff is working his ass off at the moment to write new songs, but I am sure he would feel your love from the other side of the pond. I remembered that the very first NM song he wanted me to listen was Sentient 6... and then I just got hooked ever since. This Godless Endeavor becomes my fav NM album.
That tone is fucking AWESOME. So brutal. One of your best videos!
Hearing Ola bust out that ‘Ambivalent’ riff brought me so much joy
The amp sounds incredible with gallop picking at 5:38
This setup actually sounds just like the record, great job nailing the tone!
Enemies of Reality was my first Nevermore album, and that was ace, but Dead Heart absolutely smashed my face in.
Jeff Loomis is of hell refined guitar monster I've ever seen ... Also nice personality as well...
And oh Ola you're humming nicely hahaha I love you funny vocals right there
And that is why the rectifier is a classic amp from that era...
Damn them tones are nice!
12:48 sick tone man
OMG that tone is amazing
Great job OLA! I think you matched Jeff's sound very well! And not mention paying him great ommage with your own playing! I love Nevermore and miss them greatly! Stay Heavy! \m/
Love this guitar tone !!
You should create more content on Nevermore because there’s so much more to take inspiration from their pieces of work than any of the bands out there!
MORE NEVERMORE MORE LOOMIS!
This is the first record of their's that I heard too and was instantly hooked! They influenced me to the point that I have their name tattooed on my forearm!
holy shiiit! that tone is sick! Love rectifiers! thanks Ola, this video is awesome!
For those of y'all that started on Nevermore at the Dead Heart album, I recommend going back at least one album further into the band's archives. Dreaming Neon Black is superb too, with ridiculously heavy riffs and just as great songwriting. For me Dreaming Neon Black was the biggest turning point for the band, I think Jeff became more committed to absolute bone crushing riffs starting with that album going forward. Dead Heart was more of a standout partly because of improved production plus I think Nevermore hit the right mix of heavy riffs to go with almost ballad like songs. All I'm saying is: Dreaming Neon Black is not one for Nevermore fans to overlook!
You always nailed it!!
Good Playing.. and yes Nevermore where a great band .. still love their albums
This video is everything
First time watcher,.....think I like you for your great human qualities !............and humour !
I've been into never more since mid 90 s seemed like no one knew them then. Amazing band.
I think I just bought my first guitar to complement my basses. Hearing you riff the fuck out to some of my favorite stuff just made me helluva moist.
And yes, it'll be a Solar.
Dude you are and allways will be the man Mr. England!
One of my favorite all time riffs is the main riff in The River Dragon has Come, that shit is awesome. I love Loomis.
Awesome playing Ola👌🤘
I got his first signature guitar jl7 with the Floyd rose in vampire red. Bought it 10 years ago, played it for a couple months and it's been sitting ever since.
Loomis is a freak of nature, nice video Ola!
Amazing stuff Ola. I agree that Jeff'd riffs are sometimes overlooked as I too am a rhythm guitarist and have always been astounded by his riffage apart from his amazing leads. BTW, Hope the new office is going great for you.
Cheers from Sydney Australia
I'm not sure which I like more: the tone, that SICK shirt, or the fact you opened with Ambivalent!
I think it's my favorite episode so far. This is an immortal album and I'll be listening to it for years to come.
Just got an Ola Englund ad in front of an Ola Englund vid...great!
