Eugene Wang has great control, placement, tactics and spin. He is too slow to keep up with the very best players in the world but still a fantastic player.
He makes it look so easy to play at a high level for someone who is kind of chonky that it gives me hope that one day I'll be able to play well too :>.

Ma's backhand is relatively weak, lack of serious power. Eugene can loop to Ma's backhand all day long till Ma blocked out of the table. Ma tried to use his forehand loop more. However, his forehand is steady but not powerful enough to give Eugene much threat. The only thing going for Ma was his youth. If Ma had won the 6th game, he would have had good chance winning the match as Eugene showed more fatigue as the match went to the length. The exact scenario happened in this year's US Open when Ma came back from 0-3 down in games for a thrilling 4-3 win. Playing a steady player like Ma, Eugene's physical conditioning has a negative impact on his play as the match went to the deciding game.
what a poor tournament organizers!! they didn't even provide a chair for each players to use when they taking break after each game. Eugene had to sit on the floor after each game, its shameful.
