You bring up a great point here and in glad you see the differences. There are so many levels to this game that are decided by the littlest of adjustments from the feet to the fingers. I can look at players 1000 points less than these two guys and those 1800 rated players are still doing many many more things right than me.
Koyo has more power and Ma more consistency with spin. At the end, Ma's mental strength gave him the edge. Koyo is definitely underrated, his forehand loop has top level power.
Thank you for recording and uploading! High level match videos in will help many table tennis players in US. I was wondering if I could reuse the video for educating purpose to comment and explain their techniques and strategies?
Hey road to Pro! I actually watched a lot of your videos when I was first learning to play. You could absolutely use this video if you want, I'd appreciate it if you could credit this channel for the. footage and the gameplay.
@roadtopro3038 Would you be willing to encourage your subs and viewers to head over as part of your video introduction? It would be super appreciated here and I'd love to see if it's more effective than a credit in text form in the video description.
Blue is Koyo, Red is Ma Jinbao. Ma Jinbao is currently a coach at 888 table tennis and the 3rd highest rated player in the US. Koyo is rising through the ranks and is on Kou Lei's team here in the US.
I'm sure it varies depending on how much top he wants to put on it. Keep in mind, Ma Jinbao is about the only person that has beaten Kou Lei here in the states, and he has done so on more than one occasion.
He's at the top. But Koyo looked like he has a very interesting style, I would love to see a rematch. And according to the ratings and the last US Open, Kou Lei still sits at the top.

Epic match, Koyo is underrated, more like 2780+ than 2650. Congrats to Ma who was down in the final game but stayed tough and won the match!
Better than most of the WTT matches I've seen lately.
these two players are very high level.
OMG, what an incredible match! And an equally incredible comeback by Ma in the final game!
Right! Check out Ma's match vs Wei Dianren. It's a certified banger!
Thank you so much for taking this semifinal match, I am waiting for final match... Please upload it, 🙂
Good things come to those who wait! It will be up this week though! Posting the other semifinals match soon.
the shots at this level have a different quality

These guys have TT skills! :) It's like watching ML vs FZD but at a club level.

Goodness what mental strength from Ma Jinbao. Lost 2 game points then game 6, then came back to win in 7th. The tension

a match that goes to deuce in the 7th is crazy, and that too 14-12. thats not fair
Can you let me know Koyo's blade and rubbers?
What an incredible match! Which player is in blue and which is in black? I am not familiar with them.

@@LosAngelesTableTennis Ah, thanks!
I wonder how much topspin there are on those reverse pendulum serves. It looks like the player in black t-shirt is pulling the racket up at the end.

Best player in the us

@@LosAngelesTableTennis Was Kou Lei in this tournament?
@@MrCooperscoopers He signed up and was on location, but he didn't play because of an injury.

What setups are they using?
No wonder the Keenan and Xianyao match was so noisy. Literally, Ma Jinbao and Koyo Kanamitsu was playing right next to them.
This is China Vs Japan? 🤪
America claims them for ping pong purposes. We shall baptize them with apple pie.

Majin Buu is strong.
He won the LA Open last year by defeating Kou Lei, though Kou Lei ended up getting revenge at the US Open.
Majin buu 😂
I know it is legal to moan during the rally but personally I find it really annoying
As someone who exerts more energy than probably necessary, the moaning helps control my breathing. Ya, I admit, I’m a pong moaner.
