easiest way to develop bw film at home. alone.

  • I've been getting some questions on how I develop my black and white images at home and so this video is in response to those questions.
    The film in question is Ilford HP5 and the camera I used was the Holga.

    Given that my local camera store has a 2-3 week backlog on 120 film development, so I’ve shot 8 rolls on my first film camera in decades and I still have no idea whether it works correctly, I’m thinking it’s time to learn how to do it myself.

      It really is incredibly easy if you're shooting b&w. My film shop is the same way, especially when it comes to b&w.

      @@HamiltonWard Any recommendations on cheaper ways to heat the chemicals to 80°

      @@johndaily263 Constant hot running water would do the trick. It ends up being expensive and a pain which is why I went with the sous vide route. I also used a 30$ foot massager and that worked surprisingly well. The trick is maintaining that temp because it takes a bit for the chemicals inside the bottles to reach 80 degrees.
