This guy is interesting. His shield is just good enough that he doesn't need a super form despite his low speed, but he's still utterly screwed against any robot master that can attack vertically, like most of the Wily numbers from Megaman 2.
Yeah most of the MM 2 crowd jump and fire down with great accuracy which is the bain of Knightman's existence. Crashman walked on him so hard he should change his name to Floorman.
Fire Man in these videos fights like Rocky Balboa from the first movie. Doesn't seem to give a **** if he's getting hit or not and just keeps attacking.
I still hope Knightman (and the other current "weak/F and D Tier" robot masters) gets new upgrades/buffs. It's been a while since I don't see any new "super form" characters.
Knight Man has a shield yeah but his only attack is WAY too slow for it to be any good unless he’s close up, and unlike Cut Man, he can’t even run around to avoid hits until the mace comes back (plus a lot of robot masters are too quick or campy for him to take advantage of his potentially good close up game) And then sometimes his shield doesn’t even work like with Elec Man’s large Thunder Beams, Guts Man’s blocks, and Crash Man’s bombs that go through his shield Fire Man and Metal Man also basically had Knight set up from the start
If he had some kind of stun with the shield or a dashing crush. I can see some potential but he would need some serious modifications. He'd make a decent tanking character for the few that technically exist in the roster of MM bosses.
I popped pretty hard when Knight Man won against Fake Air Man that one time! I was also surprised he could get a few wins on Ice Man. But yeah, we have a fairly weak robot master joining the Flash Mans and Guts Mans of this world. Incidentally, I'd like to comment on the occasional team bouts and how interesting they are when they take two robot masters with a similar theme. (Fire Man + Heat Man for instance.) I could totally see Knight Man and Sword Man together, that would be cool! Or Top Man and Spring Man for a kiddy toys theme. :p
The CD data to Knight Man from Mega Man And Bass states that he Defeated 1000 Robots in duals, but looking at this video, now I know that the CD Data is now a bunch of LIES!
Waiting for the MM3 bosses to come in and either start sweeping or getting their asses kicked. Imagine Topman just whooping ass due to s, homing projectiles and contact spin. Or Shadowman slide dash murdering bots. Lots of potential that I look forward to.
I see the MM 3 crew being a tough batch overall that likely will get the fake treatment to offset their potentially crushing nature. Further thoughts on the megaman 3 robot masters(edit) - Shadowman, Mid to high tier Mobile and highly aggressive. This could make for some really fun battles. Shield users might be rough since he likely slide into foes(unless they trade hits or something.), but his speed and aggressive fighting style I think could do reasonably well. - Topman, Mid Tier, his spinning and contact damage definitely is going make certain matches tough for his foes. He probably will land most of his top spins as they home in and fire in a trio. Can his foes deal enough damage while he's standing still to win? We shall see. He doesn't ever jump, and this might greatly hinder him in some matches. (Like Crashman whom likely will be a blow out.) - Snakeman, Mid to low tier will probably be a weaker fighter. He runs back and forth regardless of what his opponent does, which could go really badly for him. His snakes fall to the ground and likely will miss enemies who jump alot. (Crash man would be a super one sided battle against Snakeman.) Shield users likely will stomp him he will constantly be running into them. - Magnetman, High tier another potential ace. I imagine there will need be a faux ceiling added for whatever arena he is in so he doesn't jump off screen. The fact he removes himself from majority of enemy attacks by going to the ceiling and dropping to put up a force field with contact damage is going make him a top tier character. If I was a betting man, this guy would be the horse I'd put it all on. - Gemini man, Mid tier, he rabidly attacks from multiple directions till he gets below half life. I think his double team mode will tear up some foes quickly. Even if his solo mode is much weaker, and has a slower rate of fire, he will probably have a big enough lead to win many fights. He probably will go down like a ton of bricks against fire, air and ice man due to have more targets to hit and making little effort to dodge their barrages. He likely will struggle against shield masters for same reason, as he will collide with their shields and quickly give up his main advantage. He likely will perform better in flat arenas over ones with higher and lower ground. -Needleman- High tier. I envision also being tough for AI to handle Needle man fires while jumping with great accuracy then comes in for his head strike. Since his headstrike isn't point blank, he won't always run into shields even if he doesn't land the hit. Given he spends much of his time in the air, which seems to be a highly effective strategy in this, I like his odds. - Hardman- Mid tier. body drop does massive damage and hits potentially twice, and most AI don't move around enough to avoid it.(If this attack is nerf in terms of damage then he will do much worse.) Between hardknuckles homing in too, he going likely put up a bunch of Ws. Shield chaarcters might be an issue but most robot masters will get hit by his attacks more often than not. -Sparkman- Probably a middle tier to low tier. He moves around in a pattern around the room regardless of what his opponent does, meaning might take tons of damage if this runs him into a bunch of attacks. The stage might change up how badly he gets hit. He doesn't fire alot, and relies on contact damage to be a threat to megaman. There's a decent pause between shots, so he likely
Just like Tomahawk Man, as I suggested last month, Knight Man may require a Super version. Before that though, I'd like to propose a small buff to regular Knight Man -- make his run deal damage as sort of a shield bash. It's a small moveset addition, but it would give him better odds against a few of his nemeses. As for Super Knight Man, exactly like in my Super Tomahawk Man suggestion, I advise making the CPU's decision making take less time (to be fair, it's something all Mega Man 6 Robot Masters can benefit from, but at least some have standing ground without that). Maybe make his flail move faster as well. And if you're REALLY ballsy, if his shield is up, make it reflect projectiles that hit it in the direction they came from. Often it would mean launching the opponent's attacks straight back at the shooter, but then there are some tricksters who could bypass it with an upper hand (literally, look at Crash Man). Just maybe reduce the reflected damage.
My lord Sir Knight Man: Congratulations on your defeat of the not-buffed Guts and the Flashdancing Oaf. However, my lord, thou should never bring a Morningstar to a gun fight unless you are Simon Belmont. You, my lord, cannot compare to Simon Belmont. I saw him go two weeks without sleep just to revive Dracula and kill him again. Could you do that? I think not, Sir Knightman. Cut Man sends his regards and adds that it was an honor and pleasure to be the first to welcome you to the club. You know a lot about clubs too, don't you?
Ngl, I can imagine one day seeing punk vs metal man considering they have similar attack techniques. Only with punk launching forward but metal man jumping to the other side if he's quick enough
this is the thing i don't like about this format. knight man's thing is that he is a heavy hitter with high defense, so he doesn't need to attack as quickly as some other robot masters. but this format only cares about how many hits connect, so it's inherently biased against heavy hitter archetypes. for me i would just base all damage values on whatever the projectile would deal against mega man. i think this would be a much better demonstration of how robot masters from different games deal with each other and lead to closer fights.
I think there's value in this as a separate format. I think it could be a good idea to bring it up in the author's suggestion list. The only downside to the idea I can think of is that certain early robot masters were very poorly balanced. Elec Man and Ice Man would both kill any opponent in three hits. But it otherwise would be cool. I know there's been the occasional video that tweaked with damage values that differ from the usual formula, so using the original damage values to Mega Man could absolutely be done on a regular basis as well.
@@DJ4x That would constitute as a super form. I think he simply wants to implement a few fixes to make him a bit better than he is, not necessarily give him new abilities
We only need wind man to have the tournament PS: Seriously, the Master robots from the sixth game urgently need contact damage because if not they lose almost all their power
So the functional difference for Super Guts Man is that he damages on contact? I didn't even know that until now, probably because none of his previous opponents ever got close enough to him. So what's Fake Air Man's deal?
@@raymoo8504 My phrase didn't included the serious response to it, but i and you know, that Fire Man's AI usually attacks if you're attacking, but i also know, that if you don't attack him some time, then he can fire at you.

My Man Fire accepts the challenge to stand there and shoot at one another face to face :D
Fire Man has a very simple, but very powerful, pattern.
Although Knightman is weak. He is still my favorite robot master. Thank you for finally adding him to the battlefield!!
Glad to hear that Knight, Elec, Tomahawk, and Yamato are getting alts. They underperform.
Underperform implies tomahawk man is performing at all. He gets swept by everyone

Wow. I thought the shield would do WAY more for him. Maybe if he weren't so slow...

Crash Man really put the knight in goodknight.

Is that really Knight Man's AI? He's so slow. They really made the later robot masters easy.
They redeemed with MM7's robots masters tho
If only said robot masters didn't have knockback or ever got stunned
Probably but yeah MM6's RMs are too easy. Cool designs though.
That fireman shootout though 😅😅😅

Fire and Metal both have high attack speed, taking advantage of Knight's vulnerability during his attack.
If only Knight Man attacked more and Knight Crush moved faster.
