Guards: Steph, Melton, GP2, Podz, Hield.. Steph Podz and Hield alone warrant over 25 mins per game each so how does GP2 and Melton get any playing time if we don’t trade one of these guys

Warriors would be a 10-13 seed in the western conference even with Lauri Markkanen. Easily a below .500 team. West to strong. Spurs, Grizzlies, Rockets will be better and they will take more games next season.

@@ninerempire3398 Not true. They have other players. This idea that Ainge will stick on that is silly. Stop falling for the media talking points - Ainge wont do this or that.. etc.. SA, Sac and GS are in the mix per reports. All of them can offer the same amount of picks really. However, SA and Sac have weaker assets even without Kuminga. GS has Podz, Trace, Moody, Gui, and Nico Mannion to offer... All of those players are better than Sac or SA can offer. Unless Sac is offering Keegan Murray, which they have said they will not. And the longer Ainge waits the less opportunity he has because GS can move to deal with New Orleans and Lauri can sign with SA or Sac and Ainge gets a weaker package. Ainge wants picks mainly, not a bunch of players unless they are building blocks. IF he could get JK sure, but the warriors didnt trade JK for PG13 (plus Monte Poole said JK is not being offered), no way they trade him for a player that has never even been to the playoffs and cant play more then 60 games consistently. LM is a good player but not worth selling the farm for.
If we can’t get LM why don’t we concentrate on Jarrett Allen? He’d be cheaper in the long run and would be the obvious starter at the 5.
I think TJD can do pretty much the same job as Jarret Allen, he was a rookie and did pretty good with the Warriors system, I would choose to utilize the rookie contract and further develop TJD while allocating the money to a much needed talent to fill in the system.

How do you not factor in defense when considering including Kuminga in a potential trade. JK is a potential 2 way all star with a ceiling of a superstar. Let’s not forget that when you have poor 3 point shooting nights you need someone who can get down hill attack the basket in the half court, get to the free throw line. Also Markkanen not going to be defending the opponents best players. JK does that.

We need to acquire Lauri Markkenan and I know people don’t want to hear this but I’m willing to trade Kuminga for him.
He can do everything Kuminga can do, except he’s bigger and more experienced.
Think about it, If both players were not in our team and we had to bring one of them in, who would you choose? Are you choosing the athletic 7 footer who shoots well and has more experienced, or are you choosing a 6’7 player with potential but is still in his raw phase?
Not only can Lauri shoot well but he can also turn his back and bump his way closer to the basket to get an easy bucket. This fixes the issue we had last season where other teams would go on runs and we couldn’t answer because no one can get an easy bucket because they can’t shoot over bigs.
I think we’re just attached to Kuminga because he’s homegrown but Lauri is a better player.

Not me. I think Kuminga will be good as he already is. But his outside shot hasn't improved and that will always make his game average. His defense can get muxh better which could make him a good 2 way player but he will never be some 25+ ppg all star.
I'd trade him in a heartbeat for LM.

I have a lot of question marks with markannen as well and would be weary of giving them a haul for him. I mean they might but I doubt they would give up all those picks plus a future superstar. More than likely one or the other only. Utah also has to come up with a good offer for a 21 year old 2 way player with that much upside and being groomed by hall of famers. It’s a perfect jumpstart rebuild for Utah.

Hes proved as much as Zach Lavine. Put up numbers on a bad team. GS does not have to give up JK. And Monte Poole said the warriors arent not shopping him in the talks with the Jazz but they are in the drivers seat. They have better assets than SA or Sac outside of JK. So even still they have a better package. People really dont know anything but what they are assuming Ainge has to have and are panicking. Keeping Lauri would be a dumb decision for them because he will do like Paul George and Utah wants to tank so they can be in the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes. Utah fumbled their chance to compete when they didnt get Mikal Bridges. Utah will be better off building via the draft a la OKC, no players want to stay there.

A= Lauri is best 3 point big shooter in league... JK will never shoot 3's like Lauri.. Wiggs was a key piece for ring number 4, but he is not a natural shooter..... his form can get out of whack as he just is not a natural shooter... (great hops, great D).. granted, lots has to be put on table to get Lauri... and even if trade is done, GSW has a long way to go from 10th seed in west in 2023/24 to be serious finals contender for 2024/25... but the clock on Steph is not stopping, so, this trade can get GSW back into consideration to be a contender while Steph has not taken a big drop in performance from his peak years..

If you lose kuminga the trade would not be quite as effective. yes Markannen is a bit better than kuminga but that trade does not make the warriors much better. If you can make the trade without losing kuminga or TrayceJD, the warriors will be a bona-fide contender
That trade ain’t happening. Jazz don’t want Wiggins, and they’re not taking 2 picks and swaps. Look at the trades for Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Thats the baseline for a Markkanen trade.
Dude, stop throwing Kuminga in these trades. Monty Poole has already said he is not being offered in the Lauri trade scenarios. He also said Wiggins in not a part of those discussions either. If they didn't trade him for PG, what in the world makes people think they will for Markenenn? Lauri is over valued and Ainge has to get him off the roster so he can tank. Plus he doesnt want to extend him and pay the contract. LM has never played over 60-70 games, and has never even taken a team into the playoffs. He had his value pumped up on a bad team. The longer Ainge parlays, the less he will get and teams will move on to other targets.. LM is not KD here. Stop.

The Kings will probably sign Markkanen and the Warriors will sign Precious Achuwa and feel better that they signed him rather than having to give up Kuminga in trade.

Trading Wiggins is addition by subtraction. He’s an underperforming, psychologically fragile head case. Plus frees oceans of cap space. If you can get Ainge to go for Wiggins, Moody, GP2, go for it. If it’s gotta be Kuminga, I’m on the fence.
Im a Dubs fan and I also like Markannen for the fit. However, Im trying to be realistic and fair, so as how Jazz made deals before, it is most likely Kuminga and 4 future first. This is why it continuous to be just rumors because the asking is too high, almost kinda like saying, Markannen is not available at all. For me, i think you can get Kuzma instead which is possible for just 2 future first, only 28 urs old and kinda same player and most of all, a former champion. Dubs can even do that deal with a 3rd team, and keep Kuminga because the Wizard would just want out of that contract.

Kuminga will not be some huge star let's get that straight lol dude can't shoot. He will be a solid player who would start on most teams especially when his defense gets better. You really want to rely on Kuminga as your 2nd option scorer? You think he can avg 20+ nightly? Very doubtful. Laurie on the other hand would be much more reliable there as a 2ns option.
