Man this was a competitive fight, but Canelo dropped his nuts in this fight. He landed a lot of power shots and was just better than GGG in rounds 2-5. In round 6 his endurance issue kicked in, but he didnt let it defeat him mentally. He stuck to the plan, walk him down and hit him with power shots.
GGG showed heart and stayed poised. He kept his jab pumping all night. It was his best punch of the night. He got winded early, but he was conditioned for the 2nd half of the fight. He never hit 5hat second gear the way he did on the first fight (that he won).
I had Canelo by one round and that was the 12th (Sixth round was too close to call).
I'll score it again with no sound and see how things change.

@George Ybarra you're right their styles clash together. For some reason GGG always lets canelo get in the fight the only way to beat him dominate him every round so there can be no robbery or stop him. He didn't go to the body which canelo did and that worked for canelo as Ggg got tired.

Abel showing a lot of class here, respectful, honest and genuine. He knows that there is nothing between GGG and Canelo , two evenly matched fighters at this stage if there careers. He also knows GGG prime has gone and he’s on the slide, he knows his charge couldn’t pull the trigger and make it decisive, Canelo showed heart and came forward all night. A 2015 ggg would have had too much for Canelo, not a 2018 one though!

Because it's either a draw, or GGG won. Canelo didn't win 7 rounds. If you need clarification, see the first fight where it was close but they came up draw. Pretty much all the pros, pundits said draw or GGG win but not a Canelo win. Those saying that are a small minority.

It's sad that we all knew this going in. Canelo even had the champions entrance into the ring. Greedy promoters see 10+ more years in a young buck and would rather taint the undefeateds record with a decision on a title defense. Ggg did enough to defend a title, but it was stated numerous times that the judges would favor cinnamon.
The saddest part is canelo can't even beat a 36 year old, while alvaroids is in the prime of his life, GGG is declining and has been since before the brook fight. GGG deserves to be a hall of famer and deserved to unify the titles, but watch they'll milk clenelo vs Saunders or Andrade to make sure that the cash cow unifies the division. By doing so, they'll earn hundreds of millions, most of which will go to the paid off judges and corrupt suits who run the show

Close fight in the eyes of the public who know next to nothing about boxing. To a former boxer or anyone who knows boxing the fight was 116-112 as Golovkin piled up points with jabs and Canelo missed too many punches he threw. I'll always remember the "rip-off of the century" the first Camacho Haugen fight. The worse decision in the entire history of boxing. A 15 to 0 shutout the first fight for Camacho and Haugen gets the decision.

In all honesty this fight was definitely the draw between the 2 fights. I thought GGG edged him out by 1 round but I’m not mad at the decision because Canelo had the more accurate punches landed and was the aggressor. GGG made the mistake of starting off slow the first 5 rounds which is what cost him. He definitely picked up after the fifth round but he really never showed that fire like he had in his past fights. Can’t really make excuses because it could’ve gone either way. Congrats to Canelo for this victory!

I like that the judges rewarded canelo for being the more aggressive fighter wich was obvious and I like that boxing is going in the direction of rewarding that aggression and deterring fighters from running wich hurts the sport

Hardest one I've scored in a very long time. Anyone who's yelling at anyone for it being a draw is literally retarded. Or new to boxing. It was a close fight, and I have no issue with the outcome, but a draw would have been fine. I personally had GGG by one but thought a draw would be called. You score fights by rounds btw, not totals. You'll learn. Either way great fight and congrats to Canelo

I'm disappointed to read the obvious bias in many of the comments. So many bring a plethora of bias to many events such as I hate this fighter, team or politician or he, or she can do no wrong in my eyes and if anyone disagrees they're a dirty, corrupt and dishonest so and so. This was such an entertaining and close fight with ebbs and flows of momentum. Each fighter had their moments and flashes of boxing brilliance -- Oh yeah what a shot; what a combination! I was surprised Canelo could walk down and continually backup Triple G. That would have never happened five years ago. I'm afraid GGG has passed his peak; it happens to every athlete as well as us.I was surprised in Canelo's near fearlessness and thought for a moment in those later rounds he was going pay a high price for that, but he didn't go down or quit. After the fight GGG looked the worse for all those exchanges as if Canelo sat down on his punches a bit more. Again, five years ago Canelo would have the swollen face, bruised face. Only if we understand our own bias can we see more objectively. Maybe a couple of the judges preferred Canelo's style and in-ring body language to swing just a round or two in his favor; it doesn't take much in a fight this close.

After watching the fight in detail I think the only rounds canelo won were the 6th 7th and 12th apart from those I think he struggled massively to control the way Gennady was pushing forward and being the fight to him

The 2nd fight was closer to a draw than the 1st fight.
This reminded me of Leonard - Hagler. I thought Hagler won but Leonard’s flurries were just taps not doing much damage but looked more crowd pleasing in a sense.
Also, Hagler sort of gave those first few rounds away by “not applying” his usual pressure and trying to outbox Leonard.
But this is Boxing - on to the 3rd fight.
