  • Here is a clip from the British Broad Cast called. "Queens Of Disco" which highlights a few of the Disco Queens careers from the 70's, I don't really know why Madonna made into to that show as she wasn't Disco. Never the less I took this video clip from that show because I know that there a few people out there who really like Sylvester.

The worth and dignity of a soul is measured by what it delights in!
And delight/happiness is our highest desire. Men have killed to have it. Kings have gone mad trying to find it. Wars have served it. Affairs have worshiped it. We all seek it.
Sadly, billions have died without discovering its secret... namely, that joy is not an it, but a He.
The Gospel is the good news that sinners can delight in a Holy God. It's the good news that all of our deepest desires are satisfied in the ONE who sent His Son to bring us to Him.
God is so valuable and so satisfying that the most loving thing he could do for us is to make Himself gloriously indispensable. He is the only being in the universe for whom self-exaltation is the highest virtue.
Therefore, God's commitment to be glorified and our goal to be satisfied are not at odds but come to simultaneous consumation in the worship of His Son... who took upon Himself the Wrath that God had towards us in our sinful disregard of Him. A wrath that could never be appeased through man-made religion.
Jesus didn't die to turn the world into a paradise, he died so that we could stop seeking paradise in the world...
Temporal things such as beauty, popularity, money, sex, racial identity, gender reassignment... can never truly satisfy. BECAUSE WE WERE MADE FOR SO MUCH MORE!
We were made to gaze intently into the Eternal Beauty of a majestic King, Father, and God... meet Jesus the Christ.
Life is hard, God is good, Glory is coming
      God Bless!

The error in this statement is that you SHOULD care about who and what he was. Although, I understand what you mean to say, the problem with humanity is that by saying you’re colorblind or a person’s sexuality doesn’t matter to you is that you, inadvertently, undervalue the wholeness of who that person is. You show you care by SEEING them, by considering all the things you profess not to want to see. It’s a paradox that we’re not especially aware of.

@@marilynwillett804 Hell is not until judgement day and the saints will be judged first, so lets not be so quick to decide beforehand who is going where... The bible says search out your own soul salvation with fear and trembling and the fact that the preacher of the church who repeatedly raped him as a child went on to live without consequence sickens me, but even though Sylvester was rejected for his flamboyance and feminine ways which were obviously a side effect of the terrible sexual and physical trauma he suffered he became something amazing in spite of it all.... Even after being forced out of the church and his home town. No one ever confronted the predator who they knew stole his innocence and allowed this evil individual to remain in the church....SMH we could all see how a loving God would punish the grown ups not the victim for what happened... Sylvester showed strength and faith in life when he could have been bitter and rejected God. This shows great character..Sin is Sin. Gods grace is sufficient and it was obvious that he knew where to go for strength peace and forgiveness. Lets all try to carry our own cross like this talented young man did because the bible says that even the elect of God shall scarcely make it in. Hopefully we can prove to be just as vigilant to keep our eyes on the things that are above and not assume that God is functioning according to mans carnal assertions about others...

While I was the light tech at Backstreet Atlanta, Sylvester was booked for 3 songs, I was sent to the dressing room which at the time also was a upstairs kitchen to get the back up tape for his performance from his manager. Sylvester was still getting ready, I told him I would be on the spot light & on the rider we received it and it had no instructions on lighting. He was very soft spoken and tall, he baby you know never use green on Us Back Folk, how about a light pink, white will wash me out, and he told me to keep the spot on him in between songs as he was going to introduce a new song, and then at the end go to black so I can see to get off that small stage, he then pulled up his pants/dress and showed me his platform shoes, I told him not to worry, we will take you down when you are ready. I asked him if he wanted to go to the DJ booth or his Limo after the show, he told that he would like to party a bit, I will let you know, I told him it will be two security guards, you tell them. I said you are welcome to come in the DJ booth we have a small sofa and anything you want. His manager told me 15min. I took the tape ran down to the booth, handed it to Angelo & got to the spot light and waited. What a wonderful moment, he decided to go to his Limo as the Club was packed. I saw him again at another Club a year or so later, After he passed away, The Weather Girls came thru, their husbands waited in the Limo, they were all ready, came in the DJ booth, asked if we were ready did it’s Raining Men & one other song, & made a quick exit to the Limousine, check in Hand.
Good Times. But I will never forget My short encounter with Sylvester. 🙏😀

Now I know that he was a Game Changer, a Trail Blazer and now an Icon. He sings not WITH the Angels now, but AS an Angel. He rests in Peace but that voice lives on forever and ever.

      God Bless!
