Loooove that you shouted out the horror bandwagon! Their reactions are great for this as well! Cody broke down the Edgar Allen Poe stories that they are based off of. So give them a watch when you get a chance!🖤 can’t wait to see the rest of this wild ride!
I can't wait for this. This replaced Midnight Mass as my 2nd favorite Flanagan series (after Hill House, obvs). It's wild, operatic, and chilling. They literally show you everyone is dead in episode 1 and it's still enthralling watching it all unfold.
This is my absolute favorite Flanagan show. It is so intricate and mesmerizing. Each ep is named after something in an Edgar Allen Poe story /poem etc. Each character is also from Poe. It is all interwoven beautifully! Can’t wait for you to see each episode!
I love this show. The way all the different stories are woven together to make one story is amazing. The boss was played by the actor that played Mr. Dudley/Joe Collie. He looks so different without the beard. The mom was Mrs. Dudley/Sarah, the doctor from Midnight Mass. Teenage Madeline was played by the actress that played young Shirley in Hill House. I think you probably recognized everyone else except Juno and Prospero. They were in the Midnight Club. It's not as popular but still enjoyable.
If you know your Edgar Allen Poe then you will be able to anticipate the outcome of many of the episodes but it really does not spoil anything. If you do not know much Poe then the ride is just as enjoyable :).
I appreciate you episode one calling Freddie out as a douchebag, and saying that Perry is just a dumb kid. Those are solid takes that not all reactors have. (Also, yay! My favourite Flanagan series!)
It's finally here! 😭 This is my fave Flanagan show, and honestly a top 5 Netflix show for me. It's so well crafted. The way it's written and acted is so amazing. They should have thrown all the awards at Carla Gugino for this. Teenage Madeline was played by Lulu Wilson, who was the star of Becky and Wrath of Becky, which I've been trying to get so many reactors to watch, and failed each time. But I'll keep mentioning those movies until I manage to break through to someone lol! Can't wait to take this ride with you guys, it's gonna be a good time!
My 4 favorite Flanagan shows in no particular order : The Fall of the house of Usher, midnight mass, haunting of bly manor, and haunting of hill house. Honestly I think they all are my #1 favorite… each are different but fantastic!❤
So excited you two are reacting to this Cody & Bridget. Here is a bit of Flanaverse info for you. Episode 1 title "A Midnight Dreary" comes from the first line of Poe's poem "The Raven", the name Verna is an anagram of the word Raven. The characters Roderick and Madeleine Usher of course come from The Fall of the House of Usher, where Roderick invites someone to the house and then narrates. The story is only the framework, the individual falls will be other stories. Auguste Dupin was the first detective character, appearing in multiple Poe stories, first in the Rue Morgue, considered the first detective story. The mother character Eliza is named after Poe's real mother, the company head Longfellow after a colleague of Poe. The mother's death is based on the short story "Premature Burial".
I finally got Netflix again after not having it for years and I'm so excited to watch this show, I started it yesterday. I named my daughter Annabel Lee after one of his poems and I'm ecstatic there's a character named Annabel in this.
Recently watched this and I could have sworn I saw that you had reacted to this already - I was surprised that it wasn't your channel I was thinking of. Now you're watching it!!! What a coincidence. Hope you enjoy!
💀💀💀Flanagan's love letter to Edgar Allan Poe, father of the horror/suspense/detective genre, love how he weaves a ton of easter eggs throughout the series.
I love all of Mike Flanagans works. Except for the midnight club. I never bothered with that one. This series is amazing. Being an Edgar Allan Poe Stan, this is incredible ❤
Since Christmas is coming soon, i'm hoping you guys react to Better Watch Out (2016). Pugapillar reacted to it a couple years ago and he would be the first to tell you to go into it knowing absolutely nothing other than that there's a mid credit scene
I literally have been waiting since this show came out for you guys to react to it. I love all of Flanagana shows and films and think everyone should watch them.😭😭😭😭

Yeah I knew some stuff about Poe and this show but Cody was a master informer of Poe.
one of my fav reactions to the show!
Carla Gugino deserves all the awards for her performance as Verna
And Bruce Greewood.

I am so hype you guys are finally watching this! This is my favorite Mike Flanagan show!
One of the best shows I've seen! Carla Gugino (Verna) delivers some of the greatest acting of all time
This series is so underrated, if you are at all a fan of Poe then it’s an even better treat.
I have been waiting on this for a year. Thank you for pushing these out here and on patreon!!! Appreciate all the hard work!

💀💀💀Flanagan's love letter to Edgar Allan Poe, father of the horror/suspense/detective genre, love how he weaves a ton of easter eggs throughout the series.
I was watching this at work. I cracked up laughing when you started playing Dixon Dallas. Got a lot of weird looks 🤣
I love all of Mike Flanagans works. Except for the midnight club. I never bothered with that one.

Be glad they watched the full season. This is a spoiler 🤦🏻♀️
Have you seen Haunting of Hill House and ably Manor?
Are any of you familiar with the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
Is this any good or are the characters as annoying as the trailer suggests?
