(MAJOR spoilers but I’d assume if you’re already here you don’t mind reading) Oh my god Bills backstory makes me feel something I can’t even describe every single time I think about it, when I stayed up till 1am reading tbob I expected to get nightmares not sob uncontrollably about a triangle who can see the third dimension 😭😭😭 ALSO the complexity of Ford and Bill’s relationship???? I’ve seen so many “OMG BILLFORD CANON” posts that don’t even appreciate just how significant the development was. Some of Ford’s lines in tbob and journal 3 are EERILY similar to Bill’s childhood mentality, specifically how he treated McGucket and THAT ONE LINE (paraphrasing here) “I hate Christmas music, especially Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, if he’d been ridiculed for a facial deformity his whole life he should’ve just used his red nose to burn everything” Anyway book of bill brainrot is consuming me thank you for coming to my Ted talk
The reason I love billford is because of how WELL WRITTEN it is! Up till that point, all of Bill's partners had broken off the deal with him in some way. He needed someone who COULDN'T give up on him, no matter how much they wanted to. Someone who actually NEEDED him the way he needed them. He literally says this in the Love section of The Book of Bill. Something like “you are a product and you have to convince people that they need you”. Ford was a perfect candidate, since all he needed was some validation. Think about it, who ACTUALLY understood him in his life? His parents were just in it for the money and at least in his eyes, Stan was just jealous of him. So when a sentient dorito came up to him, complimented his genius, AND offered to help him with his research, how could he say no? Bill did so many things for him that no one had done before, like take him for drinks on his birthday, but then he would disappear for weeks on end, leaving Ford to wonder what the nature of their relationship really was, only for all doubts to be erased once Bill showed up and lovebombed the hell out of him again. He got so desperate for Bill's attention that he barely paid attention to McGucket (who was probably actually in love with him, he spent weeks designing a six-fingered glove for him for Christmas and told Ford that being by his side was enough of a present for him) As for how Bill caught feelings, I imagine he was closer to Ford than anyone else in a long time, on an emotional level. In order to gain Ford's trust, he told him his Sad Backstory™, unknowingly making himself vulnerable to a person for the first time since he blew up his universe, I think. Saying that "a monster" destroyed his universe (we stan a self aware king) and then saying that said monster would "eat Ford alive" shows that he knew they would never work, except he expected it to end on his own terms. He expected to throw Ford away, only for Ford to end up being the one to throw HIM away, which explains the “one sixer please” scene (I loved that one XD) To quote Shrek, this book is like an onion. "Why? because it makes people cry?" "No, because it has LAYERSSSS" this was a lot longer than I expected omg
@@MaryamFaisal-qi2ro tbh I honestly think Bill catching feelings goes deeper than that. I think to some extent FORD also provided BILL that validation and understanding. I mean think about it, they both were born with a rare birth defect and a compulsive desire for knowledge because of it and were ridiculed their whole life to the point of everything going horribly wrong (obviously at this point “horribly wrong” for Ford is not NEARLY as drastic as what happened to Bill but still). Tbh I think Bill could genuinely relate to Ford to some extent even though he kept that feeling hidden away. The Rudolph quote I mentioned supports this a LOT, they are shockingly similar characters and I think the same way that Ford liked to be understood by Bill, Bill also liked to see Ford’s life and relate to it to create that same feeling of understanding

I’ve never heard anyone call Bill “Billy” before but my young nephew and I were playing Gravity Falls today and he kept mistakenly calling him Billy for some reason :0 Reality is an illusion, indeed
Personally, I like both the glitchy blood and the fleshy blood artists use in their art since nothing is really consistent with bill's anatomy (if that also applies to his species) :] (Ex. When Ford missed Bill and shoots his hat instead, he seems "fleshy" but when his eye is pulled out he seems "glitchy" Ver interesting!)
In the newest website someone found a code and it's revealed that Bill's eye was actually a birth defect, and his mom would sing him a lullaby about it after people bullied him to make him feel better
do you mean his ability to see the third dimension or the fact that he only has one eye? bc i feel like some of y'all are just taking it literally when it was intended to mean his ability not his actual eye
Hi I watched this video a few days ago and it has actually WRECKED my brain. I can’t stop thinking about it. Every time I see bill angst this song pops into my head. What have you done to me
*[SPOILERS]* One thing I'd like to mention that no one seems to realize, is that in The Book of Bill, Bill states that he's 1,000,000,000,012 years old. In Weirdmageddon Part 1, Bill says, "For one trillion years, I've been trapped in my own dimension, waiting for a new universe to call my own!" This would imply that Bill was at most twelve years old when he eviscerated his dimension and bailed for Nightmare Realm. Dark stuff.
Bill Cipher is definitely embodiment of "Little Jack Horner didn't have any magic. He was a pathetic, buttered baker's boy. Little Jack's dead! I'm Big Jack Horner!"
I’m tired of this comparison. Bill could see a third dimension, something impossible for his universe. They tried to BLIND him so he would stop speaking about it. They’re not the same (I’m not saying that Bill isn’t a monster or that anything that he has done is excusable but he definetly didn’t have this perfect childhood Jack Horner had)
If I had a nickel for every PMV of this song that was created by a very underrated person I’d have two nickels, but it’s w… you get the joke. But seriously, you need more attention!
This made me cry because it's so cute😭 Another thing that must surely hurt Bill a lot are the good times he spent in his dimension, his mother's song to comfort him... Because even if it is, and even if it doesn't seem like it, it is his home, they are his parents, and he misses them, whether bad or not, he misses them 🎩💔😢
