      No, he's trying to make something out of nothing. The poor baby players who are paid the moon, at least the top ones, have been treated with respect by the Aussie media. Athletes today tend to be way too sensitives. There can be no jokes made and definitely no criticisms. As a matter of fact, some of the players this year and in the past have been disrespectful to the media and the fans. Players should shut up, collect their way over-deserved prize money, and chill.

    Ben is referring to Tony Jones who mocked Novak, John Fitzgerald who told Learner Tien 19 year olds are not supposed to win and James Sherry who said the crowd would be against him. All these interviews were extremely cringeworthy.

    Great statement from Ben at the end. As an Australian who has a bit more exposure to Channel Nine, their AO coverage is such lowest-common-denominator stuff. Always looking for a cheap headline. I understand they’re trying to get the most out of a tennis player’s personality, but they go about it in the wrong way. Jim Courier’s always been good, he’d be the exception

    With politicians, athletes, coaches -- I always wish I could know what they REALLY think, what they say when the cameras are off & the STOP button is pressed on the recorder. Thank you, Ben, for being open & sharing what's really on your mind.     Ben is a well rounded impressive person. His father deserves a great deal of the credit for raising such a wonderful human being and a super talented athlete. Ben's father was also a professional athlete. And as we know that can be a MAJOR advantage producing proteges.

    I agree with Ben regarding the post match broadcaster's comments/interview. The broadcasters should be respectful to the players and allow the player, who just won the match, (sometimes three-set tight sets or five-sets), to enjoy their win and not make negative comments but instead be supportive. Yes, this must change.

    Interviewers are being too personal it’s so true-The other one was touching Sabalenka about her tattoo and also Madison Keys asking about marriage everytime also asking too many personal questions.Its unfair someone was asking Sinner about Alcaraz and Djokovic it’s unfair questions.

    I love the way this guy plays tennis. Left Handed Nick Kyrgios...not as talented but works much harder at same age so will get some big results and do massive damage, like he has at this AO. He wont be Afraid of Alcaraz. Hell have a good crack at Sinner and will have a great Season. I think Wimbledon and US Open could be his best and he is in a SF at the AO which says alot. JMac will be in his ear that is for sure as the last great Left Handed American.

    And I've been saying it since the beginning, these AO broadcasters have been absolute 🗑 🚮 TRASH and so incredibly disrespectful. You hear it when they're commentating on the games too 🙄🫠 the micro aggressive comments they think are "funny."

    Bravo, kid!!! Way to put those tactless talking heads in their place! This is not limited to tennis "post" interviews, either. More times than not, interviewers totally disregard the heaviness of a particular moment by asking totally insensitive, tactless things like "how do you feel after striking out to end tonight's game?" or "are you going to concentrate more after missing that pass?" or "How do respond to being referred to as selfish?"...mostly to get a sound byte which can be taken out of context and re-run that way forever just to make a name for themselves.

    I don’t know about the Monfils comment being a “black joke” but it was disrespectful to Monfils, suggesting he’s some ancient guy that anyone should be beating. Monfils had just had one of his most memorable tournaments ever. Shelton clearly thinks the world of Monfils judging by his reaction after the match and he didn’t deserve “old enough to be your dad” jibes.

    10:25. Glad more players are speaking out! Those broadcasters need to understand that mocking players does not entertain the audience but turns everyone off after a great game. It generates no profit but hurts the audienceship.

    I'm so glad channel 9 are getting slammed by the players this year. Ever since theyve taken over the coverage from ch 7 it's been subpar. Form the commentary to even small things like the camera angles.
    The disrespect to the players has been getting worse. Blaming it on "Aussie banter" isn't good enough

    I didnt particularly like Ben in the past, but he was spot on here, and I am beginning to appreciate him. Improving as a player and standing up to the idiotic interviewer. Not only were his comments disrepectful to Ben, but also to Gael Monfils. Not everyone can appreciate Australian humor, which translates in simple language to rudeness and brashness. The bunch of morons should be fired. Absolutely no class. Well done Ben for standing up. Sometimes one second guesses such events. Here you are 100% spot on.
