    This show was great. My overall sales numbers were down 25% from 2018. There are a lot of factors that we considered for that. The main thing we were thinking was maybe the name change from Denver Comic Con to Denver PCC messed things up. But regardless, it was a solid show, and I still recommend it.

    I love the quality of this vlog. And how someone else has already said: I like it too how they become more "cinematic". And the music in the beginning is so chill😍

    I think the Mega Man idea works great with your style and would be wonderful for a collage. I'm saying this despite being a huge Street Fighter fan FWIW...

    I love how your vlogs are not just vlogs, they are short films. The cinematography is beautiful. I love the editing and camera work that goes into your videos (especially the intro!)

      Thank you for noticing the extra effort I put in to the actual video-making. I love movies and cinematography, and I believe in using it to set the feel of my videos. I'm still learning, of course.

    Good shit man! I really like how your vlogs are becoming a lot more cinematic, feels like I’m watching a movie haha. Thanks for sharing your numbers too, it really gives us insight on how much we can potentially make at these things before we make those huge investments to travel out of state. I hope you did well in Europe bro! See you at AX!

    Awesome vid as usual brutha cayco! Always something to gleen from.
    Also...I did think it was kind of cool and endearing to see Neal Adams helping in tearing down his booth in the back ground at 30:10 .
    :D

    Please stop saying it was tedious.
    Hi there, long time fan and watcher of your videos.
    I am a salesman and I just wanted to part some advice if I may.
    A lot of people when they buy art they don't just buy it for the piece but also because they like the artist and the artist passion for the piece.
    I have heard you use the word tedious in regards to drawing the collages. It's painful for me to hear an artist explaining his experience like that, it makes me not want to buy it as it seems to cause pain to the artist.
    Please dont take this as a personal attack I love your work and been watching your videos for at least 2 years.
    Glad your arm and shoulder is getting better and hope to see you in person one day.
    Taz

      I appreciate you watching, and I appreciate the input. I used to underplay the way I described these pieces. But the truth is that I did physically and mentally damage myself during these bigger projects, so I just started telling people the truth. It's all subjective, but an artist who is willing to do whatever it takes, in my opinion, shows more passion than someone who is doing it as solely a job.
      But people buy my prints regardless of what I say, to be honest haha. The hard part is making it, not selling it. I've had proxies sell for me, and they still just as well.

    • @taregzamel
      @taregzamel 5 років тому +1

      @@ccayco Thanks for the reply, and I can only imagine the hard work you put into those pieces, and more importantly, I would say be very selective on whos advice you accept, and probably never a stranger online :).
      but honestly ask your network of artist how your sales pitch sounds, be honest to your fans and buyers, tell them the hours and the nights you put in to those pieces how you got sick because of it, but just leave out tedious and say how much you love those characters instead, don't lie to them but maybe don't tell them the full story.
      Otherwise Someone who just met you might then think you just did it to sell a poster.
      By the way your style and skill has had a huge jump from when I first came across your vids, well done on the development, I wish my art would advance as quickly as you have.
      Keep up the amazing work.
      Taz

    Did you swtich cameras? I noticed most of the shots were out of focus and color science seems different than your usual vlog videos.

    • @ccayco
      @ccayco  5 років тому

      I am trying out a new lens. It's full manual, so it's hard to frame and focus on myself in a lot of them without a standin. It's a process. But the coloring is just because I tried a different color palette in post this time. I got bored of my usual color set, so I'm trying new things. I can always go back.

    • @fredrm6023

      @@ccayco I appreciate the response dude, I hope I didn't come across as picky but I binge watch your vlogs every month or so to get inspiration. I respect the experiment in different color and lens so I know with you style it will be another great vid.

    Word, selling original art is hard, I think I stopped that in 2016.

    You always have such good music in your videos. Do you find them on any specific site, or all random?

    • @ccayco
      @ccayco  5 років тому +2

      I honestly just use music that I'm feeling at the time I was actually at the con. It helps me edit the video more honestly when the music is literallt what I was listening to at the time. But it's all copyright music, so I actually don't make any money off the vlogs due to that.

    QUESTION:
    This isnt about the video, but I was going to work on line weight and vaguely remember an exercise where you draw filling a page with lines, circles, etc. and try to go over them without thickening the lines at all. I'm kinda thinking it was something you showed once maybe during a livestream, but if it wasnt, do you have any suggestions or exercises that would help?
