The only thing he's focused on are cheap shots , a typical full back tackles and drives up into the solar plexus to put the opponent into the ground , not try to elbow heads .
demitriou will lose his job over protecting him, one day he will realise that trell is not a good fullback and have regrets about not changing his position. Hope it’s all worth his job on the line
What a word salad! Complete BS! As a lifelong Rabbitohs fan who grew up behind Redfern oval and followed the Rabbitohs through thick and thin for almost 55 years, I can't remember a fullback with so much talent yet so little involvement and interest in the game than Latrell Mitchell. Fullback is an effort up on effort position. It isn't a position to wait for opportune moments to make big plays and coast through games. Latrell should be playing at left centre and Jye Gray should be given an opportunity.
Demetriou hides behind Jye Gray's age. He claims he is 19-years-old. Gray is actually just over 20-years-old. Cameron Murray was 19-years-old when he made his NRL debut for Souths in 2017. Campbell Graham was 18-years-old when he made his NRL debut for Souths at the end of 2017, and Souths had to seek and were granted an exemption by the NRL to include him after a late injury to Robert Jennings. Admittedly, Jye Gray is small at 170 cm and 78 Kgs, but he is still bigger than Alan Langer, Geoff Toovey and Preston Campbell and just smaller than Matt Bowen. Given Gray's speed, acceleration, elusive footwork and skill with the ball, his size might actually make it harder for the defence to contain him. At the very least, Latrell needs to have a warning shot across the bow to wake him up, and moving him to left centre and promoting Jye Gray to Fullback could give Latrell a lesson on energy and enthusiasm in the position.
At the end of the day, I think Sam Burgess was right. Latrell has too much of a say in the running of the team, and both Latrell and Cody are too focused on issues external to football and shown preferential treatment. This only encourages them to slacken off when there are no consequences when they fall well short of team standards. Standards... is there such a word at the Rabbitohs under Demetriou? I doubt it.

Grays not the answer but Lattrel is only at fullback for the cash and is that putting team first ?Alex Johnson is more then capable at fullback and the game is just to fast for Lattrel at FB ,he's struggling,cowboys had same issue with Holmes . everyone can see it apart from JD .it mite cost him he's job .

before rabbitos can deal with Mitchell and Cody they need to sack Demetrious. No hurry i lve to see the Rabbitos in the basement. Maybe Russell Crowe is the problem. With Sam Burgess as a head coach last year they would be contenders this year. Anyone who didn't perform would be gone including Mitchell and hot headed Cody
If you put a little 4 half foot full back with no experience in fullback or nrl, what's going happen when high kick comes he's up against taller wingers or forwards.the kid will have no chance what so ever.

Blake Taafe was a better fullback than Mitchell ever has been, 100% better. What did the hierarchy decide there? We will let him go (Taafe) and keep persevering with the Laziest sloth in the team(Mitchell)

The teams pathetic in 2024, well not all of them but a fair % (Cook, Walker, Mitchell, Johnson, Taas, Keon) all well and truly below par and then some, but you know who's performing worse again.....the front office and decision makers. They are letting us fans down with every woeful decision and outcome they have made for a while now.
They have very little faith or shown very little faith in their ,members, wonder how that will work for them when we loose faith completely in them and they have to come up with the $6-$7 million we contribute each year elsewhere.

Why would anybody listen to this guy, he has taken the Rabbitohs from grand finalists to potential wooden spooners, this is the worst coach in the NRL putting his support behind the most overrated player in the NRL, look at todays game, latrell couldnt stop a much smaller man scoring in a 1 on 1 tackle

Latrell honestly is frustrating to watch hes jogging half the game slow and over rated. Hes a gun player years ago definitely but lets be honest sucks now .
