@TeamDebead Ok thanks alot for the help. The design of the crawler looked very interesting and new to me and i was very interested in buying one when they came out.

For being a pre-production rig that's still being researched, and the guys driving them had only a few hours runtime on them, I'd say they are a very good crawler. 2 of the three rigs finished in the top 10. The 3rd rig finished twentieth after a pinion issue, but it was still able to finish the course it broke on. The Axial crew is still actively working on getting the kinks out of the new rig and learning how to drive it with a setup they are comfortable with.

@djbis They run either a dig unit, which will lock the front or rear motors with the flick of a switch, or they run a radio that allows them to run two speed controllers, so they can control each motor individually.

@Kyxis Brandon, the 1st XR10 was using 2 Tekin 55ts, now he uses 2 Tekin 45ts. I'm not sure what Scott and Brad were using at the time, but both are now using 2 Tekin 45ts as well. If you go to the Axial website, search for their XR10 setup sheets. It tells you everything on how they set their trucks up.

Most people will use a lipo battery, so the power will cut off fairly abruptly. A lot of the true competitor guys will use as small a lipo as possible to cut down on weight during a competition, so the battery will last a course or two. For example, I use a 750mah lipo and can squeeze two courses out for sure. If you're just playing, use a bigger lipo pack, depending how much your on full throttle you can get about 30 min on a 1300mah

@troymteal I'm pretty sure Brad is running dual Tekin FXRs, so he can use that setup to lock the front and rears. Not sure what the other guys are running, may be the same thing, may be something like a VP dig, not sure.

@TeamDebead I gotta look into it, sounds involved. But its a whole different setup than a normal 4X4 RC.

Brad Dumont, Brandon Coonce, and Scott Hughes. They will probably do a write up on the axial racing website in a few days.

I have a question: What is involved (electronics and radio gear) in order to lock the wheels for downhill and turning like they do? Considering getting into crawling and don't have any experience. Any advice/responses are appreciated.
