Ooo dude below had a great idea, battle of the 6.5 cartridges, but thats kinda meh because there are only few. Now a battle royal of the .30 cal/7.62mm, that will have quite a few. And we cam fudge some and slip in that .350 Legend.

I already picked the 6.5 Grendel. The AR-15 is lighter weight than an AR-10. Thanks for these videos, sir. And good luck catching the jackwagons who broke into your store and stole your guns. It pisses me off on your behalf.

Love the Grendel for several reasons. For us older people (73 years old) much lighter recoil and lighter overall weight. Able to build an ar15 platform instead of ar10 platform required for the cm. Cheaper to reload (less powder and cheaper brass). Great ballistic performance and high energy retention. What’s not to love.

I have a stripped lower that I can't decide on what caliber. I have a 6.5cm upper for my DB10. Grendel ammo is extremely hard to find or it probably would be my choice, maybe 6ARC, but ammo still isn't easy to find.

Thank you.... Exploding clay makes me smile. The Grendel was designed to be a "drop in" for the AR 15 platform. Only needed to change magazine, bolt, and barrel (of course). This was intended to maximise the AR 15 platform. 6.5 Creedmoor had to be put in the AR 10 platform. So right off the bat we a talking heavier. I do say that it is most definitely a more powerful rifle cartridge with much better ballistics. It all depends on what your intended target is and how far you have to carry the weapon and it's ammo to complete your objective. I prefer the lighter AR 15 with the Grendel. As Grand Pappy would say, "How dead is dead? There are no degrees of dead."

I have a 6.5 Grendel in a cz527 and I love it. Its like carrying a 22 around. I Can put three bullets in a dime at 100yds shooting Hornady 100gr. A-Max bullets. I like using 120 grain GMX for deer and bear. I shot a huge black bear at over 400 yards with one ,and really like how they perform. I shot big 4x4 buck at 120 yards with the 120 gr. GMX in the shoulder and it fell in its tracks. Broke the big bone then a rib on each side and I found the bullet just under the skin , it was 100% weight retention, and mushroomed just right, And the best part was their was no huge shock damage to the surrounding meat. If I would have made that same shot with a 30-06 150 gr. sierra game king bullet, the whole front end of the deer would be waisted. So I am impressed.

Love my creedmoor, I wasn't to sure about the cartridge before I purchased it, but I went ahead and picked one up (ruger american standard chambered in 6.5cm) and WOW, what a fun rifle to shoot, this cartridge shoots so nicely, half moa groups at 100yrds ALL DAY LONG, and boy let me tell you, I've never shot a cartridge that punks the wind as much as the 6.5cm, obviously it's still affected by wind, but not nearly as much as some other cartridges In the same power and size range, haven't tried the Grendel yet, but I have also heard good things about it as well, I may have to get me a Grendel chambered rifle next, I really want AR15 that shoots Grendel, that would be sweet sweet stuff right there

I've been shooting a 6.5 Grendel for a lot of years. I have seen deer drop, but I didn't expect it to do that much damage to the clay block. Great video. Comparing the grendel to the creedmoor is like comparing a creedmoor to a 6.5PRC or a 6.5-06. The 6.5 Grendel has about 30gr of powder, the CM has about 43gr, and the PRC has about 60.

If I take my same barrel lengths and shoot the same bullets between 6.5 Grendel, 6.5CM, and .260 Rem, I get:
175yds more supersonic reach with 6.5CM
200yds more supersonic reach with .260 Rem
All of them are supersonic past 1000yds for me, so the larger cases justify themselves if shooting more ELR or higher wind conditions from 800 on out. In practice for me, that meant that I started shooting the Grendel a lot more than the others. It’s nothing for me to load a batch of 100-200 rounds and not worry about the brass being ruined, whereas I lose primer pockets really fast with .260 Rem, and have to trim every time. There’s a lot more work I have to put into brass prep with .260 Rem, for low case life as a cost for the performance gains.
I just like shooting steel at distance in courses or recreationally, so Grendel is the money for that.

Well, the great thing about the Grendel is it can be used in both bolt action rifles as well as being designed for use in semi-auto sporting rifles, and suitable bullet weights are available for pretty much any target species being vermin or game animals. They can be loaded subsonic and are excellent suppressed. Pretty much the closest to a “one cartridge to do it all”, if there is such a thing.

I have both, howa 1500 creedmoor and ar grendel. Id take the grendel because semi auto and mag also as you stated they are going about the same velocity, double bullet mass doubles the energy double velocity quadruples energy.... speed is more important than mass when they are already so close in parameters.

I'd like to make a suggestion for a video if that's all right! I'd really love to see a 243 Winchester video with a variety of bullet weights from 55 through 100 grain and possibly even a 6mm creedmoor video someday in the future! The 6 mm caliber is one of my favorite dual use bore sizes

For me, the Creedmoor is about long distance accuracy without as much drop when compared to other rounds. When shooting out to 1,000 yards and more, the Creedmoor has become my go to round. There are other calibers I prefer when hunting, etc.. After I bought my 6.5 Creedmoor I went to the range to work my way out to 1,000 yards. Well, it was almost anti-climactic because we were banging steel at 1,000 yards steadily after only a couple of rounds. For me, that's the main purpose of the Creedmoor. I do like the Grendel though, there just doesn't seem to be a need to have both calibers if you aren't using them for a UA-cam channel or some other way of making a living. Nice shooting brother, always glad to see a new W_T_W video. Stay safe and God bless. Happy Easter.

I have both and .260 Rem. Biggest advantages to 6.5 Grendel are:
      1. Fits inside the AR-15 or micro actions for bolt guns. It makes it very easy to get into in the AR-15 chassis.
      2. I can easily watch my own shot due to minimal muzzle climb, even from lightweight rifles.
      3. Brass life is almost endless with Grendel, not so with Creedmoor and .260 Rem.
      4. Barrel life is better than .308 with 6.5 Grendel due to low chamber pressure and not over-bored.
What I found with the same barrel lengths between .260 Rem and Grendel, shooting the same bullet, was that I get maybe 200yds more supersonic reach with the .260, so the .260 Rem hits the Grendel’s muzzle velocity at when the .260 has reached 200yds. Grendel MV starts at 200yds in the .260 Rem, and maybe 175yds for the 6.5CM.
I never thought it would happen that way, so I ended up shooting Grendel more and more, while .260 Rem got used less and less. .260 Rem absolutely out-performs it, but at pretty significant penalties in brass life, recoil, muzzle climb, bigger/heavier rifle action, more powder consumption, and less barrel life.
      I like all the 6.5s. I still kinda want a .264 Win Mag, 6.5 Rem Mag, 6.5x55, and 6.5x54 M-S.

You know a lot more about it than me, that's for sure. Great job. Personally, I just can't afford to have too many different caliber firearms. I try to stay with the main calibers that are readily and (sometimes) still affordable. It took me a while to get a 6.5 Creedmoor but I'm glad I did. It is just a fantastic long range round. Thanks for the info. Stay safe. 👍

Now you need a 6.5 grendal in a AR 15 platform. In a pinch you can use 556 mags your just limited to about 12 rounds after that they want feed right.

I’m definitely going with the Creedmoor, because I don’t want anymore different calibers to add to my reloading lineup. Cool cartridge though, I like the ballistics better than the 300 bo but after all what can it do that the blackout can’t And whatever it can’t (300bo)the the 6.5 cm or my trusty 308 can. More calibers is not a good thing especially if you’re striving for consistent accuracy. I hope more mention is made about how foolish it is to not stick to one type of ammunition and bullet weight that your rifle likes. I’m amazed that every year at deer season all kinds of my friends and acquaintances go on an ammunition search and then don’t re-zero their rifle. With the new stuff.

IMO they are not close enough to compare. 6.5 Grendel was developed to be the best AR-15 round and that is where it shines. Perfect in the AR for feral hogs, yotes and also whitetails and antelope. I own both also, the 6.5G AR for hogs and deer and bolt action 6.5 CM for longer range targets and bigger game.
