    I rely on these types of videos to help me with my 65 restoration project. I appreciate all the info as I find them very useful. I'm in the process of reinstalling the windows in the doors now and this helps a lot.

    I wish I would have seen this before I replaced my door hinges. Because now I have to keep adjusting the window. It binds at the top corner.
    This video is great. Very detailed but short. Thanks a lot!

    I have been driving my 66 for 27 years now and it has always had a problem with the windows interfering with each other if rolled all the way up. I never even considered the fact that they were adjustable. I now know what I am doing on my next day off!

    Very interesting. Mine had the bumper for the bottom that you are asking NPD to reproduce AND the rubber wheel. I had no issues bringing the window all the way down.

    I like when these guys get down to business with none of their quirky humor involved.

      Hate to say if bub, but that quirky humor is us. We don't script, we don't act, and if you don't like our sense of humor, you wouldn't enjoy an afternoon in our shop.

      I'm referring to your scripted (or staged) humor. Your partner's opening session in this video here (1:00 min) is an example of a staged attempt to infuse humor into this video. Here is some constructive criticism: Your ratings and views might increase by getting to the point to reduce the video time from 20 min to 10 min. You do have a lot of great information but I prefer mustangplus's videos because he is much more succinct and pithy. That's just some feedback. :)

      From Jeff: Last time. We. Don't. Script. That exchange is us talking. That is honestly how Vince and I engage. Not scripted. If you don't like the style, feel free to go watch the other guy. We have fun. We are quirky. I don't think that changing that will do anything to help our numbers. More over, I don't want to sit in the editing bay for two days cutting something that is as dry as Melba toast.
      As to views: Mustangs Plus CJs West Coast Classic Cougar all have a HUGE mailing list to work from. We have grown organically, no buying of views, no mailing lists from suppliers, no ads bought on UA-cam to advance our brand.
      The flip side of this is that we are also not beholding to anyone like CJs, Mustangs Plus and WCCC are. These are all in house video productions. Ours is done independently.
      Simply put we produce this on a shoestring with high school kids (literally). I have no time to write a script. I set up the studio, get the cameras ready. come up with show ideas, answer questions from viewers, edit the show, clean up, shoot manic mechanic, Autorestomod tech tips, and try to keep two households afloat after my dad passed in November. I'm too busy to script.
      We realize there are lots of people out there like you that hate our comedy. I get it. I would rather enjoy what I do, impart the info the way I want to. While I truly do appreciate your efforts to change our mode, I won't.

    How do I slide the window forward and tighten it? It's moving freely and touching rear quarter window at the top.

    I have an interesting question for you. I decided to remove all the door glass from my 66 Coupe restore (wasn't going to originally) and I knew how to remove and I know how to replace. The question comes up on alignment. NOT "how to" but just wondering about the factory. They put these in all day long and had to do so quickly. Is there a way to know how they did it? Was there a gauge or a process for example on the wing window for depth of the adjustments? I would really like to find a source for "how did they do it". Any suggestions?

    Ed Bert, I'm having the same issue with the window being low in front. Were you able to get yours adjusted? If so, what was the issue and how did you fix it?

    Do you have a more thorough adjustment video? I'm having some serious struggles with alignment and binding. Windows rolled up, won't roll back down without unbolting the vent window. And drivers door glass isn't rolling up even (high in rear). I have new guides, regulators, rollers, weatherstrip.

    I'm working on the quarter windows on my '65 conv. Mine has the same type round rubber stopper at the lower end of the run like the one you showed in the video. The stopper on mine was in the rear track rather than the forward track like in the video. As far as I know these stoppers were original to the car and had never been replaced.

      @@AutoRestoMod Hello fellas I love your videos they are so interesting and very helpful, I have a 66 Mustang Coupe hardtop, and I’m having trouble finding the roof moulding that holds the weatherstripping where the windows roll up to. I think it’s called the “roof rail channel moulding” I have the passenger side but need the drivers side. I don’t think they remake this moulding….any ideas or suggestions I’ve been looking for a while can’t seem to find any used either….thanks again
      UPDATE…..found a used one on Craigslist

    I have a 1966 buick skylark convertible, the quarter windows are similar to your setup. But, the quarter windows are sagging foward making me have to push the window back into place if they fall foward, both windows have this issue, and when their rolled up and down they move back and forth making it difficult to use them. Do the windows need adjusted to stop this issue?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  7 років тому

      It may be that they need new rollers. You may have a roller on both sides that are missing. Pull the seat, and the door panels and check them out.

    Question, I know this video is 6 years old but I hope you can help. Two questions, my vent window is very loose when I open it. I have tried to adjust bottom tension screw but doesn't work. Also, my driver window tilts slightly towards the vent window so its crooked. What can I do? Thanks

  • @EdBert
    @EdBert 6 років тому

    In my understanding the adjustments are only for distance of up/down travel and an in/out at the top, not a fore/aft tilt if that makes sense.
    So if my main window is riding too low in the front and/or too high in the rear...what have I done wrong?
    Note, it is not the hinge/latch/striker adjustments, my new Dynacorn doors are lining up perfectly.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  6 років тому

      It could be the rear channel or rollers. You can try kicking it out at the bottom a bit.

    How did they adjust this stuff quickly on the assembly line?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  8 років тому +1

      Well, lets say they built 330 a day. That would make you run pretty fast after say 100. =} I will say that depending on who did it on the line you could end up with some that were...less than perfect. The weatherstrip channels on the '71-'73 Mustangs are a perfect example. Many of the channels were not seated in the upper corner of the rear window and thus they tend to leak there.

    when I have the window all the way up and I try to lower it the back of the window falls a bit. Do you know why this is?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  4 роки тому +1

      Most probably a rear window track issue. Possibly too far toward the rear of the car at the top.
