The bulbs and garlic were planted a few weeks ago, so hopefully they had time to get established. I just forgot to share those clips before now :) How much snow did you get Meg?

I so enjoyed this peaceful day that you shared with us. I read somewhere that Elephant garlic is not really garlic its a member of the leek family. But if it looks and tastes like garlic its garlic to me:). I didn't realize you have livestock on your property. That is amazing. Cannot wait to see the lambs in the spring. I have read that before too, I always just call it garlic though haha. I use it just like I use other garlic and it is planted and stored the same way :) I am really excited for all the baby animals this spring too!! -Cara

I am really curious to see how it turns out this year :) Is it going to be spicier or mild? I should start and excel spreadsheet and record my findings over the years. Although I would really get nerdy and set up controls and probably take it way past what I have time to do haha -Cara

Great to see your flock of goats and gardens you are still actively working. Up here in zone 6a, even though it has been mild, we get sudden bouts of 24 degree weather. Essentially I pull everything out of my containers in October. It is promising to see folks still planting in other areas, and even with the little one joining you all cozy on your back. burrr 24 degrees sounds cold. Thankfully our winters are fairly mild for the most part. We do get down in the negatives at night sometimes. -Cara

Hi Cara what was that black thing before you went into where the chicken is? With chicken in vegetable garden do they mess with vegetables and not just the scraps?
I think you may be talking about the color panel charger for the electric fence. We have a perimeter fence up when we let the chicken “free range” 😊
Probably a stupid question but doesn’t keeping a rooster with the hens make the eggs nasty?
Nope 😊 There is no stupid question either. A rooster actually helps to keep our hens safe. He will crow and alert the hens if there is a hawk or predator and tell them all to go up in the coop. 😊The eggs taste the same. -Cara
What do you do for all these bulbs for watering through the winter/spring?
I’ve always just left them to do their own thing along with nature during the winter. Our winters are typically pretty wet though. -Cara
