My father slept well, but when he got up he wasn't in his senses... he' in his late 70s, have a family history of Alzheimer and Dementia. Treatments going on, he s better... but he can not remember and recognize his own home and things... apart that, every thing is almost normal.

@@PsychiatryClinic But mam I have talked to alot of people who took phsychiatric medications , and now suffering through cognitive impairment , sexual dysfunction , memory problems for years and they said they haven't improved , even after passing years , I am also suffering I talked about it to my neurologist be said it's just depression , but I wasn't suffering through depression he prescribed me these meds for insomnia such a liar , then I came to know from other people who suffered the same and we're decived by their doctors its reversible , doctors think this feild will led them to heaven but actually to hell for destroying people , majority of these meds aren't even FADA approved , they don't treat anything but gives you permanent problems
@@PsychiatryClinic and also their various types of dementia ( memory loss) and Alzheimer's is just a part of it , current studies shows that these meds can initiate memory loss and worsen Alzheimer's , as depression and anti phsycotics are anticholinergics , it's very simple neurons needs proper neurotransmitters signals to function properly but , doctors prescribe them cause one study shows that they can promote neurogenesis in hippocampus by increasing BDNF but it's still doesn't make sense cause , those extra neurons will never ever be functional properly unless they have proper neurotransmitters signals , these meds ruins that functionality in some cases permanently hence they are just shits!

Medicines are used when someone thing is already abnormal.
When we talk about side effects we have to calculate the risks and benefits
There are no conclusive studies for permanent memory loss by antidepressants
And you put all psychotropic medicines including Antidepressants and antipsychotics in single category that they are anticholinergic and the cause memory loss.
When we talk about melancholic depression aur Psychosis, some neurotransmitter fuctions are already not normal
And look at cost of untreated psychosis
These people need treatment and we stigmatized every thing including related to mental health including treatment
And antidepressants are not prescribed by Pakistani Psychiatrists only. We dont have own significant studies. We rely on western literature and guidelines
