I just wanted to mention that after watching everyone's x100v videos, yours is the only one that spoke to me as a photographer and an artist. Thank you for making this video, and really beautiful images.
That's because Kyle McDougall made it! If you haven't checked out his channel, I would highly recommend it. All his videos are superbly produced and very informative!
This is hands down the best review of this camera. This is a real gem in the current photography-youtube realm. Vistek give the team a raise and let them run free with this format.
You had me with this review the moment I did not hear you say: WHAT’S UP YOU GUYS. Straight to the point, under 10min, and gorgeous shots. Keep up the good work and thanks.
2 years still after the release of this video the X100V is still flying off the shelves thanks to other UA-camrs, Influencers, and Tik Tok trends. I just wanted to cement the fact that *this* is the video that had me dead set on getting the camera. Thank you for such a wonderful showcase of how graceful this camera truly is.
Thanks Alex! Kyle has a great UA-cam channel - I encourage you to seek it out. He’s in the UK now, but definitely wish he was still making these beautiful videos for us.
I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and man, this is quickly evolving into my main camera. I had the F which I really didn't like as much as I was hoping. Well the new lens and viewfinder has changed this. It is exceptional.
I only watched it because of Kyle. He's a top man and know his cameras, love his channel.

This is exactly the type of review on Fujifilm gear releases I long for. A golden ratio of personal impressions/opinion and hard specs also great images and true creativity in choosing scenes. The flow is really nice and from 7:16 it rises to an emotional level, something users of the X100 series will understand only (hands down to the great choice of music as background). I would love to see more content coming from you either on the X100V, other Fujifilm gear or in general.
The best 'non-geek' review. It reminds you that 'ok, this is a great technical piece of equipment' but, much more importantly, it inspires good photography... it demands that you think about what you're shooting from an aesthetical point of view the get the best out of the camera. I've been an art director for 30 years - essentially being a photographers' third eye (when needed). But now I really feel the need to take on being the photographer (as a hobby) and this camera definitely helps inspire me to do that.
I started like "nah man, I will never pay 1400 bucks for this camera" and now I'm "well probably I just need to sell everything to get it". This fujifilm commercials are becoming more and more sofisticated. Great images btw.
That looks like it would be a great walk-around camera. and this video makes me anxious for my next trip to the desert southwest and old 66. This camera seems ideal for abandonment photography.
really liked how you organized this review by walking, explaining and also showing sample pics, this is the last video that I watched before making up my mind to buy a x100v
This was really nice. I love your photographs, even though I normally don't care for this genre. The calmness of your presentation is wonderful. Thanks.
Totally off topic but everything about this video is so well done. The visuals, color, editing and story line are all spot on. It's nice and rare to see videos crafted with so much care. I can see where having a film background has influenced the creator's work. Also it's a very good review of the X100V. Anyone can reel off the list of specs for the X100V but few can speak to its soul which the X100 series truly has. Thanks and yes, I've subscribed with notifications turned on. =)
Awesome video! I'm happy to see others taking the quality of UA-cam up a notch as well! ;) Gotta love those anamorphics, too . Cheers keep up the great work!
I made the switch last year from film to the x100f and i switched back. There is something about going to the lab getting film loading your camera and hoping the shots turn out the way you want them too. It really feels like work to perfect where i took shots from the x100f and they turned out amazing but my job took 5 seconds of framing and i was done. Great camera nonetheless
I never leave comments. This review is fantastic. Big props to the team. Lovely photos, great sound design, amazing cinematography. Really inspiring and entertaining. Thank you!
Wow, what a great review and awesome job overall! I am patiently waiting for my camera to be delivered in the next couple of days. Couldn't be more excited. Actually, I think I can, after this video. So huge thanks for that!)
A superb review, and very beautiful photography to illustrate what this camera can yield from an excellent shooter. Your images are stunning and inspirational!
Hands down, this is one of the best reviews I've seen on UA-cam yet. Such nice camera work, beautiful colors. Everything is on point. Can you give us some hints how and with what gear you've filmed the review?
Hi raiiid. Kyle filmed this with the BMPCC 4K, unless the footage otherwise would suggest it comes from the x100v. The B-roll should all be BMPCC 4K. I would caution you that I don't think the camera or lenses matters at all here. Kyle is a very talented filmmaker who knows how to frame shots and tell stories well. The review would have looked the same no matter what camera he used. You can follow Kyle on his own UA-cam channel. We highly recommend it!
Man. I like the color, editing, and pacing on this. The off-center comp with that golden hour beard glow at 2:30 is so nice. What was the camera and lens setup for filming this video? Was it the Ursa with an anamorphic lens or something?
I like the color of the video. I'm not a video person. Is the correct way to say that is that I like the color grading on the video? I like the muted colors.
Great review, love the location of the shoot. I love my X100F, it is a fantastic camera, I bought a Leica Q a few months ago, that is a next level on IQ but still love and use the Fuji. This new camera is a nice upgrade. Shooting Film is what has improved my digital output, makes you think more. If you get a chance to try a Q, give it a go, it really is something else.
I love the look of your photos. I'm just starting to get into photography, but I was curious what you use to edit and what filters and changes you make to make them look that good
The reason it is not weather sealed is actually because all of the lens barrel moves when focusing inside of the housing. Fuji explains this in QA section of the launch.
With review is outstandingly produced, could not be improved upon . Respect. Oh wait the only improvement is if there could be a link in the description for full res images. Carry on
I'm torn between the Ricoh GR3x and the x100v but after watching this video, I have more than enough reasons to get the x100v. It's really the soul look of the captures i'm missing with the Ricoh.
I owned the original x100. When I would buy new lenses for my other cameras I always would want to go back to my x100 for some reason. It’s just fun, it challenges you. Felt so great on my hand. I unfortunately don’t have it anymore but I am planning to buy the X100v to carry with me all the time and have my XT2 ready for when I really need it. Great review.
Some of your photos just look really nice. Like you said, as if they have a soul. I've been using Sony's A7RIV for 1.5 years now. Even though I love all of its powerful functionalities, it just feels like too much of a tool to me. I carry it every day with a compact lens, but sometimes I don't wanna take it out to shoot. Now seriously considering getting an X100V. Maybe I'm just looking for more excuses to "fuel my creativity" lol.
Wow, what a great video! Where do I start. Great review of a great camera. Beautifully filmed, fantastic location, great light and really beautiful filming / great presentation skills. I bought an X100F in Tokyo and fell in love with Fujifilm. That little camera, which I still use, made me sell all my heavy Canon gear and buy and XT2 which was relaced by an XT3 and several Fujinon lenses. My enjoyment of photography has got up 100%. I think you said something about these cameras having 'soul'. I couldn't agree more. Where will you be posting your images from this trip, I want to see more?
When your camera review is more beautifully crafted than most people's actual films. I'm still super on the fence about this simply because of the dpad removal. Losing so many function buttons in on go seems like a deal breaker, especially on this camera of all cameras.
D. B. Thomas Yeah, I'm pretty bummed about losing my 4 quick-access functions, so I'm trying to convince myself that I don't change WB very often and maybe I can repurpose my wifi button for something more frequently needed, etc. I'm kinda over the moon about the tilt screen, toggle-able ISO dial, updated lens, and af. But also...the X-T4 is around the corner. 💸💸💸

best camera review i’ve ever seen hands down 🙌🏼

The most artful and beautiful review for the X100V so far. While most reviews go very technical this one has soul!
Thank you, John!
I really enjoyed the way you presented information in your video. No BS, no fluff. Excellent commentary and videography.
Your photos are so beautiful , thank you for an emotionally engaging review. Your shots are only matched by the beauty of the X100V design!
That's a ringing endorsement from someone I really respect. That'll do for me 😁

Where are you getting this great music without getting struck by UA-cam? Licensing it from where?
The x100 has always been quite sharp at a medium distance wide open for me, up close it is soft but very dreamy, until about f4.
Great review. If they finally get a decent IBS, i'd grab one in a heartbeat! I do too much video to be without it.
