Citadel Forged With Fire was simply made at the wrong time. Blue Isle should’ve kept going.

I really wish that citadel had a complete revival, I remember getting into it back when Ser Winter played it like 6 years ago
This is the best game in its genre by far in my opinion. This game never got the respect nor popularity it deserved.

Me and my friends bought it when it first came out. I have tried so hard to get them to try it again and they just refuse. One of them keeps talking about how it's just quidditch because they did that one holiday event or whatever. Then they keep saying it was just nothing to do and I try to tell them there are literally like 5 years of updates since we touched it and they just won't even attempt to look at it. They refuse to play on unmodded non PVE rust servers too stating that they just want to build stuff and be left alone and I'm like "BRO NO ONE PLAYS CITADEL ANYMORE NO ONE CAN GRIEF YOUR BUILDINGS THIS GAME IS FOR YOU" and they just flat refuse.
Sorry to hear that. I hate when people won't even give something a try again. They just instantly dismiss it and act like they know everything about a game. But in reality know nothing, since they won't even try.
Plus people who only rely on mods, kill games. Seen so many people do this. And is also ridiculous imo.

Long time pmayer here. The game is beautiful and its sad that its a dead game. I still play it on a semi daily basis and continue to expand on my base and Im always happy to see new players. Even if they are getting rare.
The game has an amazing building system (although certain things would be nice to have in terms of parts or wol functions) and you can build some truely amazing things there.
If you play it for the first time, be it alone or with a friend or two, youll definitely enjoy the game. Some aspects can be rather grindy. So end of the line stuff in masses can be challenging to get, but thats normal in survival games.
If youre interested in the game, give it a try. Buy it when its at a discount. 15 to 20 euros/us dollars is in my eyes a good price for the game.
I totally agree! It's such a shame that this game never got any recognition, and has always been in the shadow of the bigger survival games that have been on the market. I myself have been playing this game for a long time, and often come back when I feel like relaxing with something all by myself.
I still login to keep my base , this game and Dark and Light still hold a place in my heart ^^
It's not a bad game, in fact it has a lot of potential, but I think it lacks more content, updates, etc... the game could easily have clans against clans, more pve content, raids, also more character customizations, more weapons and buildings...
Bought this back when I was playing Rust day in and day out. It could barely run on my 1080 back then, so had to put it aside and forgot all about it. This looks exactly what I had hoped it would become. Considering just playing it solo and enjoying the PvM and survival by myself with no worries of pvp.

Citadel is basically Ark with Magic lol

I just recently tried it with my gf on a dedicated server... i don't know it feels kind of unpolished. For example you can't even turn stuff when building, graphics is very blurry and strange, gives you a headache, you can't even change it. Mobs bugging around constantly, to many everything feels pushed on a to small space. Not a lot of settings to adjust or tweak but at the same time feels to grindy without tweaking (at least for 2 players). They made flying per default also very slow. Felt kind of boring, no real sense to do the stuff that is there. Go play Conan Exiles it's so good, just they milk it for money..
Citadel it is a fun game until the game delete your character , 60+hours forever loss because the game corrupt your character save file forcing your to start over. At first I thought it was just my bad luck but after reading in forums it is a fairly common problem due to the poor optimization of the servers that the game provides.
This THE best survival game on any platform. People really have no idea what they're missing.

The game really don't lack cheaters and glitchers though, so it has that going for it.
Source: Played several thousand hours, many of those with people who cheated and glitched and showed me how to do it.
I did not play this game that much but it is pretty great. There is also another game that is highly underrated and that is Miscreated such a shame it died out
Thats cool. Had a blast playing it as it released. But at same time ark was kinda newish, so i played that a lot more.

Its actually not exactly the way u described it. Back in the day it was a Blast. It ended like Diablo IV. People were hyped and dev's made promises about what to expect from future Updates which they did not hold on to. Thats why more and more people stopped playin. There Was lack of content which dev's were aware of, promised to fix it and suddenly fixed Things no one asked for and ignored what the community asked for. Anger was spread and the game died, just like diablo IV nowadays
Its 13$ on Microsoft right now. Good price but if there done with the game then there is no point
I personally still enjoy the game regardless. But yes they have been done with the game. It wasn’t abandoned (unfinished). They just decided not to pursue it after full release! Which sucks…

@werbenjagermannjensen3566 if you accept it’s terrible animation from enemies (it’s a pretty great concept with very unique survival system) I thought it was fun for about 50 hours of a gameplay

Not gonna lie, I pirated this mother f!@$%. If they are gonna straight up abandon this amazing game, then I refuse to support them. They are just milking the game at this point. People need to stop hand feeding these garbage indy devs that get people hyped for a great game then shit on everyone and stop updating and responding. Yes the game got a lot of hate early on, but that started changing as they updated and fixed things. If they would have just kept working on it, this game would/could have been amazing. They could have lowered the price to match what most abandon games cost, but nope!!! They kept their original $40 price tag..... Really, thats greed at its finest example. Fuck them I won't give um a dime.
