Before you get a license, you have to apply for it. Which will be an application and you have to put your social security number on it. Your social security number is your identity. So y’all tell me that, they would’ve known her real age before she got married? And it’s a federal law, you have to put your social down. People use your heads. These people would’ve been serving time for false information. They was not married. You can fake a marriage certificate, but not a license. It’s a big difference!!!

I hate that the media and even some of y’all so called fans are making her legacy about R Kelly. Aaliyah is more than that! She was a star that wasn’t even at her peak and we lost a true gem.
That's what happens when her uncle keeps her music locked in a vault. The only album available is the one written and produced by R Kelly. Aaliyah is a part of his predatory history si anytime he's in the news for some sex scandal she is inevitably brought up. She has her own legacy but she is undoubtedly a part of R Kelly's as well which does unfortunately overshadow her own accomplishments.

Whether Aaliyah saw herself as a victim or not his relationship with her is part of his predatory history. She will always be brought up especially when R Kelly is still free racking up victims. Had he stopped messing with teens after Aaliyah she wouldn't always gets dragged back into the conversation. In fact, had her parents prosecuted him he would have been a sex offender and he probably wouldn't have had the chance to ruin many other women's lives. For me, it's hard to say. On one hand, she would have gave her (short) account about her time with R. Kelly on IG (I could see her having social media platforms), or she would have done an interview (Sway or Angie Martinez) and gave a little bit of insight as to why she felt she got villainized about the ordeal. I just recently read that Jim DeRogatis (the journalist that has been investigating R. Kelly since 2000) got the marriage certificate, and he uncovered another bombshell. It was domestic abuse during the seven month period which Aaliyah and R. Kelly were married. I know had she been alive, she would've went in full detail in her own memoir/autobiography (and R. Kelly would've filed an injunction to prevent from happening.) but everything she witnessed or seen, she took to her grave. If we only knew. @candy girlll
