@@11Bryght999 I believe that Aaliyah had some dissension with her mother because mom seemed to live vicariously through Aaliyah and didn’t always have her best interest at hand like with the R Kelly marriage
Well, I remember reading on Vibe magazine before her passing, that her Father stopped managing her due to health problems. She may have been sad and worried about this. They asked her in the vibe article to elaborate more, but she wouldn’t discuss it further.
Funny you say that, I don’t see it in her interviews but I see it in some of her pictures especially towards the end 99-01 there was definitely an undertone of melancholy.
I’m so glad that Aaliyah is gaining new fans but my goodness, Youngsters will never understand how truly different the world was when this angel walked among us. It’s like the innocence of that time died right along with her. So happy I had the chance to meet her, make her laugh and get that feeling you get when you walked into a record store and held her new album in your hands. Rip Aaliyah. Thank you for being a part of my childhood ❤️❤️
I agree! I'm a 97 baby but I grew up on so much Aaliyah's music! The fact that she achieved so much in her 7 year career says a lot about her hardwork and dedication! All of her albums went multi platinum! She was only 15 or 16 when Stevie Wonder wanted to met her which he did. The legendary Whitney Houston complimented her voice and was going to work with her in the movie Sparkle but Aaliyah passed away. The audition track "Giving Up" was for the film. Whitney delayed the movie for years because of that unexpected tragedy. Janet Jackson wanted to collaborate with her as well. Not to mention the fact that Whitney and Janet is the most successful black female artists of the 90s! The Isley Bros gave her both of their tracks. At Your Best and Choosey Lover! Her swag, beauty, artistry, and magnificence will always be missed and was honored while she was here! She will always be my Number 1. Long live and prosper Babygirl 💜💜💜💜💜
Yes I think her death really taught me about the reality that anyone can die at anytime. That was traumatizing. I can still remember turning on the tv after my friend told me on the phone and praying she was wrong. I prayed for days they made a mistake
Wow you worded this perfectly. I was 16 at the time & yes it very much seems that the innocence of the times truly did die with her because our world changed forever after this & a little over 2 wks later, 9/11. Nothing quite like the feeling of the 90s, 2000 walking into a record store and being excited about an album or even buying a single! In my head I’m eternally 15 because I was so traumatized by 2001. 😭 Anyway you are so lucky to have met her & to have made her laugh?? That’s awesome!! I wonder how many ppl can say that! Blessings to you ♥️
JUST WOKE UP!😨 and look like that omg she is the most beautiful natural girl I’ve every seen in my life of living that’s staying with me until man dies

I watch this video and I just want to scream don't get on that plane. I hope wherever she is now she is happy and at peace
This is so special. Thank you MTV. Aaliyah was and is absolutely precious. She was so young yet she had so much wisdom and maturity. I'm 36 as I watch this, and I'm only just now really feeling what she said, about doing what you love. Pampering yourself. Enjoying down time. It took me a good 15 years to match her maturity. I'm just blown away by her. Such a beautiful spirit.
The great thing is that Aaliyah lived life too the fullest and she was grateful for what she had. It would have been great to watch her grow old, but her work here was complete (even though it seems like it wasn't) and her soul was required elsewhere.
She received the original script of Scary Movie & thought it was really funny but turned it down because the character Brenda is a spoof of Brandy’s I Know What You Did Last Summer character & didn’t want anyone to take it as if she was disrespecting her peer. She said by the time it was released it was totally different than the version she read, but seeing that ending I can most definitely see her in character mode for Brenda
Yes! Please MTV release all the Aaliyah rare and never before seen footage! Love Aaliyah. Love the part when she's joking about the wax, the way she laughed lol

I was so obsessed with this MTV Diary of Aaliyah episode. I recorded it on VHS lol, and I watched it all the time. Had it memorized. Aaliyah u were so special. So beautiful, so talented, and humble. U are so missed. 😔🙏🏾❤️
Yessssss I was too! I think I may have recorded it too lol but I know for sure I watched it over & over again whenever they would air it before she passed.
@@TheMatthewRoss Kids today wouldn’t even know what you’re talking about 😂
I recorded it on 📼 too LOL
@@creamycazz1 what did the clown say? Lol.
There was a sense of sadness in Aaliyah’s eyes while talking about her friends and family. She was a beautiful person and she’s at peace now 🙏🏽🕊✨💗🤍 I feel like these last few days have been like a rebirth of Aaliyah because I’m hearing her music more again and feeling her spirit. The music is what made her happy 💗 #keepthemusicalive
Yes I notice that too. Hmmm🤔
Yes she have sadness in her eyes
Funny you say that, I don’t see it in her interviews but I see it in some of her pictures especially towards the end 99-01 there was definitely an undertone of melancholy.
Her talking about being waxed at the end has me screaming lol 😂
She gots to be Pampereddd
Lmao 🤣
Yes lol so funny.
Her has to be pampereddd 💅🏻💀
Then the voice she puts on at the end talking about being pampered
OMY she.. was... STUNNING. Truly effortless beauty. Smh
Thanks so much for this footage MTV Aaliyah deserves to be nominated for the vanguard award hope it’s possible!
🤞 I hope so too. She also deserve to have a 🌟 on the Hollywood walk of Fame.
Yeah hope MTV VMAs will honor her this year.
I agree with this!
Yes, please honor her this year.
she truly deserves it
She’s so beautiful inside and out it hurts…
I agree her death signalled the true death of the 90s. Times have never been the same. RIP Aaliyah ❤️🕊
Anyway you are so lucky to have met her & to have made her laugh?? That’s awesome!! I wonder how many ppl can say that! Blessings to you ♥️
Omg! PLEASE describe the time you met her! 😍
She was one natural beauty !!!! 🥰🥰
JUST WOKE UP!😨 and look like that omg she is the most beautiful natural girl I’ve every seen in my life of living that’s staying with me until man dies
Like imagine waking up looking that good!
I love her personality. Very calm, sweet and down to earth.
it really is tragic that she passed away. seeing her in this footage and seeing the little quirky ways of her personality makes me feel closer to her even though she is no longer on this planet. I watch this video and I just want to scream don't get on that plane. I hope wherever she is now she is happy and at peace
Not only is she Beautiful and Talented but she is very Educated and smart❤
We need the More Than A Woman behind the scenes footage mtv. Thank you for this
We sure do! Maybe they’re saving the release for when they re-release Self-Titled. We can only hope.
I believe E! (NBC) Has that footage
@@soufbayshawty I hope so 🤞🏽
They can’t give it to us all at once lol it’ll probably drop next year or in the future
I want if your girl only knew footage!!! That's extremely rare!!!
The real pop princess. Always remembered.
She was more R&B than pop honestly, but she could make pop records
My stomach turns to see her alive. I grew up to her music and didn't realize her impact on the industry until after her death.
everything this woman did was so pretty. even the way she spoke... damn
She said she just woke up. But she’s still gorgeous. Such a natural beauty overall, inside snd out.
Ugh. Why am I watching these videos and falling in love again? 😭😭😭
Cuz it's Aaliyah!!!! 😎
She was so beautiful. Her aura was everything 😍
Been a fan since 97’ love her, still heartbroken that she is gone but her legacy will on forever RIP the beautiful and talented Aaliyah.
she was so gorgeous
Omg this breaks my heart almost in tears her speaking voice soo pretty just as she is
The great thing is that Aaliyah lived life too the fullest and she was grateful for what she had. It would have been great to watch her grow old, but her work here was complete (even though it seems like it wasn't) and her soul was required elsewhere.
LOVED THIS!!! Especially seeing Aaliyah having fun and being spontaneous 💙
The end of this video is the cutest thing EVER!!!! I can totally see her in comedy movies!
Couldn’t do anything but smile and shed a tear! 😭🤍🤍🤍🤍
you could she was naturally a sweet nice person
Their probably saving lots of these footage so when her birthday or passing day comes they have something new every time for the fans
Yes! Please MTV release all the Aaliyah rare and never before seen footage! Love Aaliyah.
Love the part when she's joking about the wax, the way she laughed lol
I just find her vibe so calming. She's lovely to watch and hear her clear speech, and see her passion and realness shine.
I miss her so much . I still can’t Believe she’s gone even 20 years later 💔 I don’t think I’ll ever accept it 💔💔
Its hard for anyone to accept it.
Same
You do not have to accept it. Aaliyah is now playing this character, Natalie La Rose
I still get sad over her passing. I was 16 when she passed. IT STILL HURTS. R.I.P. BABYGIRL
I was 16 when she passed too!! Still saddens me so much, I had posters of her on my wall & just was so hurt. Worst year of my life, she was a HUGE influence on me since the day Back & Forth came out. 🥺
It's too painful for me, I can't watch till the end... What a tragedy. We miss you Aaliyah. Xx
Please watch til the end .. your heart will be FULL.
She could truly speak very well. ❣️❣️❣️
So eloquently... effortlessly calm, so serene. She was very mature though.
And not like white or blk jargon but just well spoken...per sae...just elegant harmony w/no color lines. Missed🤍🕊️
How many of you miss Aaliyah ?
✋
🖐🏾🖐🏾🖐🏾🖐🏾🖐🏾
Meeeeeeee you're beautiful too
✋
Me
she’s truly one in a million, often imitated but never duplicated 🤍 we miss you baby girl
aaliyah is my favorite female rnb artist of all time!!
They should release the behind the scenes footage of the More Than A Woman video. I don't understand why it's been under lock and key for 20 years.
She was so beautiful. And she loved life. She loved what she did, and the people around her.
I loved her makeup and hair from this era the most!.
She deserved the world. Yes she was stunning but her whole energy (the part of us that lasts) is just light. She’s different.
Nah the world is shitty
