Not gonna lie, when were only you and Mena left, i thought "they didnt had to do Broski like that", but you were actually the only player on the whole tournament that gave Mena a run for his money. Legend stuff. Aki is cool.
I've said it on every video about this match so I feel like a fanboy but your play was absolutely inspiring in this set dude. Amazing stuff and giving us AKI players a goal to strive towards!
Being from the Dominican Republic I'm a big Mena fan and I have to say your sportsmanship is out of this world. I want to see more of you in the future.
I havent watched yet but I was in the crowd that night and literally no one but Mena had the crowd love the way you did. Mena may have been the Champ but you were the peoples hero. Excellent play man.
30:42 Your whole set against Mena has been incredibly impressive as a whole but this actually blew my mind. Confirming a meaty in neutral and properly converting off of it into a committal special??? I knew you were good but goddamn
I said this already on the actual Red Bull post but I'll say it again just for you Broski... This right here was Grand Finals to me. As an A.K.I. main myself, I want you to know I'm extremely proud and inspired. I'm also very appreciative of this breakdown... I really learned a lot!
I dont normally comment on stuff but being from the uk and an Aki main ( started with J.P against the slander ) ive never been more hyped and proud to see you run this set and show people how formidable Aki can be.Ive never been more inspired to get back in the lab and improve. Keep up the fantastic work.
Regarding set length vs double elim, double elim allows for characters with a couple of really bad matchups to make it further through the bracket. I also think it's important with open brackets because otherwise the pot monster who gets matched up against one of the top seeds, that becomes their only match, which often won't be fun. I do agree that for invitationals single elim high game count works well, and better than I would have expected.
This was the best match of the event. You were so close. And I mean, sooooooo close. Congrats to you, you did great against possibly the best SF6 player playing probably the best character in the game
I’m so happy you were at this tournament. I had never heard of you before and I’ve been loving your content ever since. Count me as a new fan and follower 🎉. By far the best match of the tournament.
Mena's offense with Luke is so ... stilted and scramble-y. It would throw me off so much as he does everything a little sooner or little later than I expect like every time. Especially jumps.
Looking back… this is probably one of my fav sf6/fgc videos of all time. Super insightful from a technical standpoint and player mentality during a special longset event. Sprinkled in lotsa personality and some timeless jokes. Jwong def knows who da oral goat be 😼 keep it mah dood
That last hit of the last round was dropped from the combo, there maybe could’ve been one last chance to try a comeback from there but I understand that it was pretty commonly accepted the match was over there and I see why you stopped blocking. All in all, I’m so happy you got to show what a force of nature you are in this game with probably the most expressive character too, glad you attended and enjoyed!
Theres so much reasons why this set was so hype, great work Broski! You almost beat the best player of the world with the best character of the game, keep up the good work Aki is so cool
Special shoutout to Justin Wong and James Chen for the great announcing during the Broski and Mena match… they did an amazing job wit all the great insights of what was going on 🙌🏻❤
The skill you showed during this match was proof of how no matter what people think of a character they can output some crazy stuff in the right hands. Hats off to you for working hard.
Broski, this is my first time watching A.K.I. gameplay. And this was fun. I found out you played her from a video where you and other people gave reason why a person should main your character.
I hope we get to see you at more events/tournaments when you are interested, you would easily be a consistent top performer with that kind of offline practice
Bruhh the simple fact that only Broski took 2+ matches from Mena says a lot. When comparing that Mena went up against gachikun, knuckledu & freaking punk!! & they couldn't clutch even 2. I'm a Mena fan but broski deserves hes flowers here
It wasn’t a wake-up level 3. He read your button behind the slow fireball mix up perfectly. Thanks for showing your perspective of the set. It must of been such a cool experience.
the best part in a vacuum was that match going 4-5 + being pretty neck-and-neck for a majority of it, the quote unquote "worst part" was that the rest of Mena's matches weren't even close as you pointed out lol nah but in all seriousness you put on an amazing performance, having at one point kinda evening out the crowd and getting everyone there and at home so excited was exhilarating, it's more than safe to say you assuaged your initial fear of not wanting to put on a good and proper show, and hopefully the next one will be even more exciting oh and you made me think Aki is hella tight
Broooooskiiiiii! You were so awesome!!!! I totally get that feeling of letting down your character, being a Chun Li main and not a technical prodigy or anything. I admire your hard work and calculating mind.
Honestly you said you felt like you didn’t do Aki justice, but as someone who was kind of an Aki hater, you made her look cool. Definitely changed my opinion of the character.
12:40 That feels like RBK atmosphere for sure. Capcom Pro Tour sows storylines for RBK to reap them. That event is there purely for the show and it's a great contrast to how stiff the presentation for official Capcom events are.
MenaRD is undoubtedly one of the best in the world but everybody saw that you also played as one of the best in the world. I got inspired by you and AKI. Keep it up
0:32 i think so too 1:04 uh huh 1:27 gotcha 1:40 oh really? 2:26 and won. Yeah i get the reasoning behind him doing this then. Gotcha 3:16 oh well refreshing for all. 4:42 loll 5:28 gotcha 6:45 i get that against some players that are hella stressful in the corner, but i assume mena is 6 leagues above anything i played lol 7:03 damn man 7:35 good intel 12:11 oh 12:25 ohh that’s understandable 12:48 for kumite specifically. Right that’s interesting to know 13:10 yeah i gotcha. Give people watching something to think about towards aki 15:09 nice. 15:18 indeed, looked a bit better ye 16:35 yeah, yep 18:01 yep how the tables turn in a hit CA 19:37 yea that gets too dangerous 19:50 kinda true yeah fireball whip is pretty good meterless damage lowkey 20:49 yup a LOT of 5-0/5-1
Hey Broski, regarding the situation talked about around 11:35, do you think that all characters should have a frame 1 anti-air? If so, should there be a universal anti-air? Personally I feel like there every character should have their own AA that is frame 1 (as a suffering Kim main)
What i loved about this set was it made sf6 looked great from a spectator perspective. The game is getting pretty stale but aki is so unique that it really makes it a lil exciting to watch. Everytime mena won it was either from throw loops or shimmy the throw into death
The turnaround of the crowd is just the nature of being a dominant player like Mena.. they want to see you destroy people, but even more than that they want to see you lose to a relatively unknown player playing a low/mid tier
Yeah Sim's LK slide is a lifesaver against deep jump-ins in the corner. Maybe they could change his 4HK to be better in the fireball scenario? That would probably be a safer change than buffing 4MP, since he can't get drive rush combos off of counter hit 4HK.
Any single elim format is heavily dependent on draw. You can get a bad early draw in double elim ft2 or ft3 and still make it to top 3, but in single-elim you know who the best person was that day, and everything else is just random.
27:26 - after the standing heavy kick, when you did the reset you can go into a command grab and if Luke did anything except jump, lvl 2, lvl 3 or ex upper cut you could have grabbed him. If he pressed any other move it would counter hit him and if he did lvl 1 she would low profile it to punish counter. But i doubt he could get the inputs out so fast seeing that he was still airborn and the command grab would be a frame trap. 43:52 - its a semi safe jump I'd call it - they'd have to do a reverse input dp for it to hit her but a regular dp will cause her to go behind the opponent
Yeah, but Broski got pounded trying to do grabs before and Mena is jumping a lot in general due to it being strong against Broski. I don't think the answers are that crystal clear given the match history, even if very strong on paper.
This match was epic, thanks for coming out :D.
Just because these two guys were sweating together on a small stage, wrestling for the win, that does not mean that it wasn't purely platonic!
One of my favorite sets in SF6 game history. You really made Mena have to earn that win in Kumite.
Pls bring him out next kumite!!
Hey redbull. You guys tournaments are the truth. Thanks for being a part of the FGC

You did the UK proud man
Uk has some good players rn, Broski, Problem X and EndingWalker.
@@winstonpeanutbutterproblem x the bison player?
@@manzana_2001 yup
This event was way more fun than Capcom Cup and with the Aki representarion i was so hipe
Win or lose, I've got mad respect for your AKI play. There's so much value in seeing lesser used characters get places in tournaments
Being from the Dominican Republic I'm a big Mena fan and I have to say your sportsmanship is out of this world. I want to see more of you in the future.
as a mexican i hate when ppl think im dominican harhar, u get it
Broski with the Zangief mentality, putting on a good show!!!!
anything for us loyal fans
Zangief arc when??
Rare footage of Broski actually angry.
I havent watched yet but I was in the crowd that night and literally no one but Mena had the crowd love the way you did. Mena may have been the Champ but you were the peoples hero. Excellent play man.

you were the only one that scared Mena for a while. only for that it was totally worth it! amazing gameplay! you rock! 👏👏👏
I was unfamiliar with Broski prior to Kumite, but I'm now fan. That set VS Mena was the highlight of the whole weekend!!
I said this already on the actual Red Bull post but I'll say it again just for you Broski... This right here was Grand Finals to me.

You’re quickly becoming my new favorite fgc tuber. Not only is your knowledge deep, but you explain yourself so well. Subscribed.
Your set with Mena and the Dual Kevin / Chris Wong sets were the best of the whole thing.

This is truly the best SF6 set to date. And absolute fucking barn burner that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Good shit broski
Kumite is supposed to be a show, so I think that's a great way to look at it
I've only just started watching the video but I saw the video length and just wanna say thanks for the big breakdown, I'm gonna enjoy this with a beer

Easily the best set at this Kumite. Thanks for everything you do. AKI is cool
I was watching live on jmcrofts and he put out a vote for favorite to win and it was 50/50. There's a lot of love for you broski!

Incredibly entertaining set and your breakdowns always help me learn so much about SF6/ AKI! Ggs Broski, made us proud 👏👏👏
I just caught up with these finals and had to come find if you did a breakdown. Amazing match and great to see such high level A.K.I rep
The skill you showed during this match was proof of how no matter what people think of a character they can output some crazy stuff in the right hands. Hats off to you for working hard.
Why does Luke hit like Marisa? His damage output is crazy 😪
Easily the best match of the event. Capcom needs to make a „A.K.I. is cool“ title card with a silhouette of you to celebrate this.
That was my favorite match of the event, what a level, you did it awesome.
Aki is cool, definitely.
Broski, this is my first time watching A.K.I. gameplay. And this was fun. I found out you played her from a video where you and other people gave reason why a person should main your character.
Broski, you won a fan for life with your channel and this set!
It’s good to hear you say you wanted to put on a show for the Kumite and AKI bc that set was one of the most hype. Ggs Bro.
I hope we get to see you at more events/tournaments when you are interested, you would easily be a consistent top performer with that kind of offline practice

mena had a good day the others had a bad day its pretty simple
@@ΚρανίΩ😂😂😂😂😂😂
This was honestly one of the most hype matches to ever happen in this Red Bull Kumite.
Mena uses a sports psychologist, so makes a lot of sense his mental is so strong.
My boy was basically the only person who pressed Mena, and looked absolutely raw in that jacket
It wasn’t a wake-up level 3. He read your button behind the slow fireball mix up perfectly. Thanks for showing your perspective of the set. It must of been such a cool experience.

AKI is so freaking cool
You're cool to wanpokke
Thanks for doing this. Fascinating insight
One of my favorite sets in SF6 game history. You really made Mena have to earn that win.
Bro you seriously put on a show! Even with a close disheartening loss you gotta be proud. It was amazing to see Aki gameplay at that stage
You're an inspiration man. Oral GOAT indeed ggs
Hey Broski, regarding the situation talked about around 11:35, do you think that all characters should have a frame 1 anti-air? If so, should there be a universal anti-air? Personally I feel like there every character should have their own AA that is frame 1 (as a suffering Kim main)

The turnaround of the crowd is just the nature of being a dominant player like Mena.. they want to see you destroy people, but even more than that they want to see you lose to a relatively unknown player playing a low/mid tier
i love how the commentators are always Broski reals adversaries in matches
It was a really good match! You lost but you put up a HELL of a fight against one of the best in the world.

you had the best set at Kumite, Broski. Great show, bud!

This was the most hype set in the tournament, you showed them the beauty of AKI, it was epic!
thank you for gifting us such an amazing match!
The Oral Goat himself
Justin is too funny, that oro goat bit had to be intentional
You were the only one to make menaRD sweat, good on you broski
The best set of the tournament IMO. Also you got closer to beating the champ than anyone lol.
I’ve been fuckless about Aki but your set was inspiring man! GGs! You were the MVP to me for that event
This set was, for me, the best part of the entire Red Bull Kumite New York.
16:43 Sim has a similar problem. Although for deep jump ins/cross ups he can slide which is pretty good.
24:26 based
Yeah Sim's LK slide is a lifesaver against deep jump-ins in the corner. Maybe they could change his 4HK to be better in the fireball scenario? That would probably be a safer change than buffing 4MP, since he can't get drive rush combos off of counter hit 4HK.
After this duel, Broski became my favorite European player
Do you think that same person also messaged Brian_F about the Oro GOAT misunderstanding? And if not, what was the mentality there
You should be proud of your performance. True Oral Goat!
Any single elim format is heavily dependent on draw. You can get a bad early draw in double elim ft2 or ft3 and still make it to top 3, but in single-elim you know who the best person was that day, and everything else is just random.
