- Feel free to ask in the comments about our team or robot - we will happily respond. Thanks to our sponsors for supporting us throughout the season. If enough people are interested we might make a video explaining our robot.
Our team (FTC team 12993) is a school team from a public school on the sunshine-coast in Queensland, Australia. This years team consisted of 9 members, and was a predominantly rookie team. 3 of our members (Tinzen, Lotus and Riley) are in grade 12, and are studying for their final year to get into university. We have one German exchange student in our team (Mika). Our team is structured as follows, however everyone tries to learn and help where they can.
Tinzen - Team captain, Programming, CAD designer, Primary driver
Tinko - Outreach lead, Hardware, Wiring, secondary driver
Lotus(goatus) - Hardware, wiring, Strategist
Mika - Outreach, App-design, Scouting lead (secondary driver at nationals)
Elliot - Human Player, hardware, outreach/marketing/posters
Riley - Hardware, marketing/posters, expert sleeper
Mathew - Battery manager, programming
Zoe - Scouting, Marketing, hardware
Marley - Hardware
We hope this video will help others in the future, and show people that even a team with limited resources, experience and time pressure can still succeed.
Our team’s philosophy is to leave no stone unturned throughout our season - this season we really gave it our all, and tried to be the best we could be. This season was not without challenges - finding sponsors, learning new skills, hardware issues, access to parts/equipment and raising money for worlds. We love the environment that FTC creates (and what we can learn) and try to encourage robotics and STEM in our community. We are currently unsure what the future team of 12993 will look like, however our seniors can still do FTC at the end of the school year through to university.
man i wish the rest of my robotics team was this dedicated 7-10 days may have been dreadful but those are some of the greatest memories. love the energy love the vid great work
Those 7-10 hour days really showed, absolutely incredible robot and even more amazing rebuild. The perseverance really payed off!
Dune has gotta be one of the best bot names of the season. Great job ya'll!
Ya'll definitely have spirit--I've never seen a more drastic worlds rebuild work out this well. Really love both designs too.
👑
Great work. It was great meeting you! What an impressive set of rebuilds.
Thanks! you too
Great video, great robot, great team! Thank you for sharing your whole season experience.
hey tinzen. its navam. thats about it.
If RKA has a million fans, then I am one of them. If RKA has ten fans, then I am one of them. If RKA has only one fan then that is me. If RKA has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against RKA then I am against the world.
hey guys, amazing robot! I was at worlds for powerplay with my team, Techno Phoenix 14010. I remember you guys, and I have a question. What slides did you guys use for your worlds bot and what motor did you use to power them. Also, besides the motor, did you guys use anything else to power the extension of the horizontal slides? Our season is finished for Centerstage but we are working on an offseason project for Centerstage that is quite honestly similar to your guys' worlds bot from Powerplay (with 2 pairs of slides, one pair vertical and other horizontal). Thanks!
We used misumi sar 230s for both horizontal and vertical extension. The motor was a rev motor with an ultraplanetary gearbox (5:1) for both extensions. For the horizontal extension it was just a standard stringing setup.
@@RoboKings12993 okay, thanks. do you guys have any reason to not use gobuilda linear slides, and what are the specific benefits of the misumi slides? my team has been using dobuilda slides a lot and for our offseason project this year we're also planning on using them
What are you guys using for your v1 vertical slide
misumi sar 230
Hey guys.
I'm the technician at #21036 Justice FTC Tem from Goiânia, Brazil. Unfortunately we couldn't meet in the same division at the World Championship, but I was really happy to see how much you guys grew throughout the season as I saw in the video. Congratulations on the great work and I wish we can meet in a next opportunity.
thanks!
My favorite bots this year 🦘
