Hi Maia. I love seeing your completed pages videos. Your style and choice of mediums really speaks to me and I look forward to seeing your colour interpretations. My favourite this month was the cactus garden in Gullivar's New Travels. I also LOVE seeing anything done in Millie Marotta's books as she is one of my top artists to colour. May I suggest, if you are inclined to try a new set of pencils that aren't overly expensive, I've found Giorgione Classic Colour pencils (72 set in a red tin) utterly amazing in Millie's books. I recently coloured the lobster double page in Secrets of the Sea with them and they were a dream to work with on that paper. Thank you for the shout out, I'm always surprised I'm still remembered as it's been years since I was active here.

Recently i went back and rewatched a lot of your videos to get some inspo. I even found that “where’s Wally ? “ coloring book on ebay !! Here in the US we called him Waldo and i grew up with those 3 books ! I loved them so much as a child so i had to get the coloring book for nostalgia reasons. Thank you so much for the recommendation on the pencils i definitely put them on my wishlist ! I actually mention you a lot but i dont always tag you becasue i dont want to be annoying, but i can tell you , that you would be surpised how much you get mentioned by other channels as well, everytime someone talks about The Magical City or Inktense , usually your name gets mentioned, but i believe they probably dont always tag you. Lovely pictures and some beautiful shiny pictures. When you use Calerio paints, do you colour underneath before applying? I seems to get patchy results with them. Have a super-colour July/August.
Hi Sue !! Yes sometimes they are patchy if i put too much water on my brush, make sure you dont have too much water and sometimes ill do 2 coats where it is patchy just to go over it again makes it much better. Some colors are more patchy or more opaque than others. And No i do not usually color underneath the coliro but you most certainly can experiment with that.

So because of that I am used to using thin washes of watercolour and I guess that means I use a lot more water than most colouring book artists when they use paint. I am used to using proper brushes too, which hold water well. I need to practice with less water and using water brushes in the almost dry state I think. It feels like it goes against the grain.
@@suewilkinson910 ya definitely coloring book paper is not watercolor paper. Coloring is different im sure from watercolor art. You’re right the good brushes hold the water well so im sure the transition to coloring books is a learning curve for you but believe me your skills will be great on coloring book elements !! but witj Mettallic watercolor if ur going for an opaque look then u need less water. Im a huge fan of watercolor art and im sure ur work is fantastic.
The paint is a better quality paint which has less water in it and more pigment so it can cover the page with one coat and not much water, plus i make sure my brush is not too wet with water. It does warp the page a bit but not much. The more expensive craft paints are worth it, dont get like the michaels brand etc…
Gosh, I love the fairies. Also I am a fairy love her and I do fairy gardens every Thursday. Hope you come over and check them out. I do a gardening video every Saturday. And I do coloring on Monday, so thank you so much for sharing all the things that you do on your channel.

You’re right the good brushes hold the water well so im sure the transition to coloring books is a learning curve for you but believe me your skills will be great on coloring book elements !! but witj Mettallic watercolor if ur going for an opaque look then u need less water. Im a huge fan of watercolor art and im sure ur work is fantastic.
How did you get the paint to not warp your pages?
The paint is a better quality paint which has less water in it and more pigment so it can cover the page with one coat and not much water, plus i make sure my brush is not too wet with water. It does warp the page a bit but not much. The more expensive craft paints are worth it, dont get like the michaels brand etc…
