I stumbled upon this video yesterday and was immediately intrigued by The Flatshare. This isn’t a book that would typically interest me, but got the book immediately and couldn’t put it down. I didn’t go to sleep last night and read the whole thing!! Such a cute story. I’ve already pre-ordered the author’s new release, The Switchup, for March. Great recommendations in this video. Of course, I subscribed!!
Couple of your fav books are on my tbr list this year in 2020 and I cant wait to read them. You are one people I watch and everytime I watch your videos I just want to read because of your passion about books. Hopefully I will feel the same way about these book like you do
Oh, I loved Evvie Drake Starts Over! It's one of my favorites of the year. I like how you described it as a quiet book. That really sums it up. It's just wonderful.
My favorites are: 3. Girls of paper and fire by Natasha Ngan 2. A little life by Hanya Yanagihara 1. And every morning the way home gets longer and longer by Fredrik Backman
Yay! I’m so glad you are back. Missed your videos so much. Happy New Year! My Top 5 Reads of 2019 are: 1. Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker 2. A Place In The Sun by R.S. Grey 3. Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan 4. Josh and Hazel’s Guide To Not Dating by Christina Lauren 5. The Diviners by Libba Bray (Honourable mention: If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio) I would love to see a video recommending “quiet, character development” books! I really like that kind of book as well and would love to read some more.
I totally agree with you about Things You Save in a Fire. It is not talked about, but it is very good. I got as a book of the month pick, and I am so glad I did. Also, I read The Flatshare after watching you talk about it and I loved it. Great recommendation!
I missed your videos! So glad you are back. I also loved Evvie Drake, but not more than Red, White, and Royal Blue! Just read My True Love Gave To Me over the holidays and loved it. Anybody have similar short stories to recommend? I spent a good part of the year in ac reading slump that finally seems to be ending.
I'll have to check out that Deb Caletti book. I've read a few of hers, and I loved them. She's a good writer who isn't afraid to delve into heavy issues and topics. And Daisy Jones and the Six! My favorite of the year as well. One of my favorites of all time I"d say. Can't wait for the tv show!
Well Met was also one of my favorite books of the year! It isnt even the genre that is my favorite I normally read fantasy but it was a cute little read!
I am obsessed with the book red, white, and royal blue. It's one of my very favorite books. I also loved carry on too and wayard son!! Both I loved so much!
Hey Heather!! Sorry it wasn't the best reading year for you. I hope 2020 is better reading wise. Some of these I'd be interested in reading. Daisy Jones and The Six definitely!! Also like you I like adult contemporary romance. Flatswap, the one with the widow, and the one with the female firefighter are all ones I think I'd like. Happy Reading and God Bless
Evvie Drake was on my best of list too! I just read it in December and loved it....laughed....cried ❤️ So happy to see someone talking about it! I bought it based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's recommendation. I just discovered her this year so totally relate to how you felt when you found her last year. I gobbled up almost all of her books in 2019 🙏🏻
My top ten 2019 reads were (in alphabetical order): •All American Boys by Brendan Kiely and Jason Reynolds •Dear Ally, How Do You Write a Book? by Ally Carter •Geekerella by Ashley Poston •The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood •The Legend series by Marie Lu •LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff •Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds •Loved from A to Z by S.K. Ali •A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi •What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Happy New Year! I hope 2020 beings you and your family many blessings! Evvie Drake looms really good! I had so many favorites in 2019. But the one that has stuck in my mind the most since reading it is White Rose by Kip Wilson. It is a WWII story based on true events written in prose. Another favorite was Petey by Ben Mikaelson. It was my fourth time reading it! It is so good and beautiful. It's about a boy with cerebal palsey in the 1920s but he was diagnosed as an idiot and it follows his life.
I like your top 👌 ten! I am surprised that people don't talk about Things You Save in a 🔥. It was such a nice story. And I'm not usually a fan of romance because sometimes they're so cheesy. But this was just a really nice story. And I definitely think it was more relatable than most romance books. More realistic and the pragnostist is a woman in a primarily male dominated field. Definitely a favorite of mine. my reading year was low cuz I went through a lot this year but I really enjoyed that book and Sycthe!! Sycthe my 1#. Amazing 👌 I'm eager to get to A heart in a body in the world. Definitely have a feeling that will be a book that will stay with me for years to come. Currently reading the Diviners now. I'm going to try to read all the books before the fourth book comes out in February. And I'm so glad to have you back you're my number one favorite booktuber! 👍😊
I needed this video! 2019 was a bad reading year for me. I DNF a lot of books. I love most of the books u read! I’m obsessed with adult contemporary ❤️
I love Red, White and Royal Blue!! I read it in a day (I loved the audiobook) I am so happy to see you back on BookTube ! Do you have a TBR planned for January 2020? Another amazing video as usual!!! Can’t wait to see your next video!!
I understand!! I have a few books I would love to read this month! (I’m on my 5th book for the month.) but my first half of my TBR is coming in the mail tomorrow! I can’t wait 😊
The Folk of the Air series as a whole was my favorite of 2019 but I didn’t have a lot of GREAT reads, just a lot of meh ones. It is what it is, let’s hope for a good 2020!
Things you save in a fire was so good! it's one of the few books that have made me cry, right along with a heart in the body in the world. I also loved, red white & royal blue and well met! There were both so cute.
Good morning, Heather! Hands up for "Things You Save In A Fire"... Loved, loved, loved it! Great female protagonist. Great story. Great romance... Good fortune to you!... ✨😎✨
I'm the odd one out --- I hated Daisy Jones. I wanted to love it, because I was a teen in the late 60's early 70's. It should have been right up my alley.
Your video sounds exactly like my video. 2019 I read a lot but didn’t LOVE most of them. Most were just fine. Looking forward to a much more captivating 2020.
I love adult romance! The only book on this list I have read was Daisy Jones and it was a disappointment for me personally but Evelyn Hugo was my favorite. I am adding basically every other book on your list to my TBR. ❤️
Ren Fairs are so much fun!! I live near the big one mentioned in Well Met so I get all that was involved in this book. I LOVED Things You Save in a Fire! I got to meet Katherine as well and she is so sweet. Hated RWRB bc it was overwhelmed by the politics (unpopular opinion here). Great to hear your thoughts on books from 2019.
