  • A well-made knife takes time, energy, and precision to make. All that considered, it’s no surprise that their prices can vary greatly. We’ve all heard of Japanese and American knife makers but in today’s video we meet Filipino Sean Alonzo (otherwise known as Balete Blades), who is making a name for himself in this industry.

      Pretty disappointed they're not really forged considering the price. I'd have no issue spending this much for a knife. But it's really not a great skill to grind metal. His skill is in design which he succeeds with.

      It’s still sad what happened with the baseball tournament…
      Without a doubt many talented people come from the Philippines, it’s a small nation with so many different groups & languages. It trains the mind, food place for competition but also communication so there are more minds to solve problems.
      Also because language one of the biggest aspects that dictate how people think, problem solve, amd even impacts values.
      It’s also a nation of so many islands, so many of the populations arrived via boats, which in turn formed DNA. As Maritime travelers needed: Fearlessness, skillful at problem solving, ability to tinker, mindset of independence.
      Recently it was confirmed that DNA changed with experiences including memories/thought.

    • @notsoberoveranalyzer8264
      @notsoberoveranalyzer8264 2 роки тому

      It’s a small place, unlike other island heavy nations. All throughout history it’s had influxes of various groups around the world.
      There being so many cultures, languages and societies communication has been so vital & problem solving( creating ideas, concepts etc)
      I’ve always found it fascinating that astrology ( for maritime traveling) was developed often in regions that weren’t maritime heavy. Specifically looking at Central&South America, Christian & Islamic nations and even central China. All through history, often without any form of communication or record keeping.
      For Island nations I’ve tried speculating as to why not. If it’s due to being forced to coexist with nature more so, so time/energy was focused on that or if it was a factor like, things grow so fast and smaller populations would lessen the chances to have ideas/thoughts continued, or like the lottery if it just is chance to have someone born at the right time, inspired by the right things. ( Philippines continue to dramatically impact the globe with inventions, answers to problems like bamboo replacing plastics, particular plant life that can’t be found else where etc.)
      Sorry a bit of a rant, I’m just throwing out random information to see if any sticks and you have any thoughts/corrections.

    Damascus copper San-mai thats hard and tricky to made. Damascus is easy if the preperation of the steel billets are good clean and some Times oxygen free enviroment. Copper melts in high temperature compared to steel like 52100 and 15n20.
