Yes, I agree to, although it was a simple backflip, he moved way way too fast for a simple travel to the cannon, it makes everything better too because then this meant Rhino couldn't have done anything about the cannon as Shen was too fast to activate it.
I find it kinda neat that Shen was actually relatively civil unless provoked. He only fought back after the guards and later Ox and Croc started attacking him. He started with introductions and even said “please.” Good character consistency. He was never looking to kill someone for no reason. If you weren’t in his way, he’d leave you be. Even the attack on the pandas was done due to believing they would defeat him otherwise. As long as you weren’t a threat and did what he asked, he didn’t care about you.

Knowing that information Shen from his point of view had the option of waiting till the pandas killed him (because defeat never ends well for a royal), or take action against the bad people (Because why would they be attacking you otherwise?) Theres also the whole thing of Shen not only being familiar but friendly with the Soothsayer suggesting he knows her well, and if thats the case i think its pretty likely her services where used often by Shens parents further adding to her reliability.

to be honest, Rhino is stronger than Shifu ! And he is the only one left after Oogway that can fight fairly with Kai ! Without the Chi power, Kai is just as the same strength level as him ! He's really strong
Without chi Kai can level the entire jade palace quite casually by pulling up a large boulder or statue from the ground and swinging it. Rhino definitely isn’t on Kai’s level
Shen lacks physical strength so he uses surprise, agility, speed and concealment. He's a bit of an assassin, fighter, warlord and engineering genius in one.
