"¡Puta madre, Machete! Where the hell are you living in Mexico? Transformers: The Last Knight sucks! And I'm still watching Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse right now!" -John Flickster.
Hey, Raymond! William Chico here. And so, we always hate Transformers 4 & 5 a lot. But, we always want to watch Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse on Netflix on July 15th, okay?
I took my 16 year old daughter to see this, she turned to me about halfway through, and said, "What is even going on?" I turned to her and said, "I don't know, darling...I don't know...."
Favorite movies w/ robots: *Star Wars *Empire Strikes Back *The Force Awakens *Blade Runner: Final Cut (although, it's debatable whether or not we can call the replicants robots). *Ex Machina
I really hope John will reach 1 million like Chris. To get there just be different and unique and try your best to get your reviews out right when he films come out. You are one of my favourites John keep it up!
Luke Mitchell I literally dedicated an entire section in my review just talking about aspect ratios in general and tried to put in as much detail as I can related to the aspect ratio changes in this "film."
I agree about the first Transformers movie. It was just a entertaining movie. The issue with these Transformers movies is they took it to far, they should have made it a trilogy and thats it. Even if the Transformers movies were all bad, it should have been a trilogy. Love your videos John!
The aspect ratios are headache-inducingly terrible. As soon as I saw the first letter boxing I noticed it every time in the movie and trust me that's a lot. Mixed with the extremely choppy editing, this genuinely gave me a headache and took me out of the movie where I couldn't concentrate, how did they think having 2 aspect ratios was a good idea?!!! Why not shoot the non-IMAX shots with a standard digital camera with the same 1.85:1 aspect ratio
I had an anxiety fit when I seen the first Thor cause 1.I had a cold and just felt awful 2.The movie theater was to full 3.I kept on having to use the bathroom 4.went in the women's bathroom. 5.Then I did like this uncontrollable cry and I never cry 6.The more people laughed at me the more I cried Then I left the theater and almost got hit by a car... anyway I was only 11 then I'm 18 now . I always kick my self in the head every time I think about that.
Very good review and critiques; you nailed the parts about the filming of standard and IMAX. That diet coke story was perfect! I really enjoyed this review.
The movie actually needed to be longer. Apparently, Bay removed 40 minutes of screen time of more plot explanation, action and scenes to smoothen up the film, due to the fear of critical feedback. Well, I guess people thought it was fast due to the overall past passing, but really, the critics are actually the ones who ruined the entire film in the first place. I extremely hope the blu ray has these scenes that were removed because the film really needs it.
When Transformers released 10 years back, it looked to be a promising start for a good franchise. After 4 movies, Micheal bay proves he can make that promise go away.
John, I tried counting the explosions in this movie (it's more engaging than the actual movie) and I got to about 750 before I gave up during the finale
Feeling ripped off was my exact same reaction from Age of Extinction. After watching that, I swore never to watch TF5 unless it miraculously pulls off a 50% on RT. I guess i'll be saving some money this time. Michael Bay is just trolling at this point.
I'll give you a rundown of how I think the transformers movies could have been better: First Movie: Don't change anything really, except have Optimus have the matrix of leadership on him, and not a lost relic like it was portrayed in the 2nd movie. When the autobots are talking at sunset about optimus' plan to sacrifice himself and the allspark, have them also comment on destroying the Matrix of Leadership within Optimus. You'll see why the plot's changed like this. Second Movie: When sam witwicky is going off to college, DON'T have him be like this storage container for the remains of the allspark, rather have him give it to Bumblebee and have the two separate... for real. Like, cut Witwicky out of the movie from that point. No more Shia lebouf or Megan Fox. As Bumblebee is heading out to rejoin the autobots, have the decepticons surprise attack him and take the allspark shard, which will be used to revive Megatron. Megatron heads to The Fallen and have him discuss a Plan A and a Plan B: Plan A was to use the Allspark to generate an infinite army, and Plan B was to use the Matrix of leadership to restart the Sun Harvester. Since Plan A didn't work, the Fallen needs to have Prime die to take back the Matrix, not have him die because of some stupid reason like "Only a prime can kill me". See, you've not only taken the annoying human element out of this movie but also you have a much more cohesive reason as to why they need to kill Optimus. Now, have that amazing forest battle play out, Optimus dies, but the autobots take the matrix before the Fallen gets it and the autobots are on the run. Have them try to discuss their possibilities, which gives them a chance to actually.. .you know, DEVELOP AS CHARACTERS, and have them meetup with Jetfire because shit, these characters are actually lost without Optimus and LET THEIR WEAKNESS AS A COHESIVE AUTOBOT GROUP TEST THEIR LIMITS, FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Jetfire tells them about the sun harvester and they go to Egypt (no humans :D) and duke it out. Jetfire sacrifices himself for Optimus, the whole finale action scene happens, yay. You actually have a transformers movie about the transformers that develop the transformers as transformed characters, without having annoying shia lebouf or clickbait megan fox. Third Movie: The autobots are now a separate faction from the humans, so there's tension between the govs and the autobots. Decepticons intentionally make the autobots find out about the Ark and Sentinel Prime, bring him back and have Optimus and Sentinel form their mentor-student bond. Yay, you actually have development for Optimus, struggling to figure out if his leadership at the moment is good enough when his very own mentor, another older prime, is in their midst. Yay, character dev for Optimus... finally. Have Sentinel, being that wise old senile lovable guy who only wants peace between the decepticons and autobots, reform his alliance with megatron about the whole "bring-cybertron-to-earth" idea and let that all run through. The problem with Sentinel Prime in the actual theatrical movie is that he's "kind of" some tragic character who only wanted to do what's best for the transformers, but he acts like a completely unsympathetic character during his bad-guy shtick, so during this run have him have regrets and stuff, you know, like "crap, I kind of don't want to harm these squishy humans and betray Optimus", which makes him actually a tragic character. Anyways, have Optimus develop as a character finally by having him stand up against his mentor's authority and lead the autobots to victory. Meanwhile, the humans, understandably afraid of everything going on and up-in-arms about the autobots running away from them, try to kill off both autobots and decepticons. Have Sentinel Prime die and Megatron injured and run like a coward, make Optimus question whether if it was even a good idea to come to Earth in the first place. There, now you have a proper setup for why the autobots are on the run from the humans in the 4th movie. Fourth Movie: When ratchet is killed off by the humans and Lockdown, before he dies, remember that convo he has with the head honcho of the attack group about how the honcho's daughter or something died in chicago? Have Ratchet reply that he doesn't have a right to talk back since Ratchet had to constantly lose his brothers and sisters in this century-long war and had to fix his friends up only to see them die when they went back out. I dunno, this makes the autobots a lot more sympathetic and stuff. At least it gives Ratchet's death a whole lot more meaning. And don't just see Ratchet's death; actually show how all the autobots and decepticons are dying off and stuff. Give us something worth sympathizing over, you know? And gives the premise about how the transformers are facing extinction, LIKE THE TITLE SAYS. Also, remove that whole "transformers came and made the dinosaurs extinct" crap; we've already revised history enough. Oh, and remove Lockdown from the equation. He gets the boot here... because he's a 3rd wheel between the love relationship between megatron and optimus and just takes away Megatron's role in the story. Anyways, have the autobots, finally fed up about being hunted and stuff, ACTUALLY RETURN TO CYBERTRON. Make the autobots actually try to restart their civilization, and have decepticons actually join the autobots since without Megatron they're essentially broken as a group. You know, have the transformers DEVELOP AS A COHESIVE IDENTITY... Meanwhile, Megatron forms a rogue faction and uses the humans to create his army and stuff, have him and his new army return to Cybertron, finally killing off the humans like they deserve, give some decepticons some character development about whether they want to rejoin Megatron or not, and have them finally restart their civilization away from the humans and as a united civilization. I dunno, kind of play on the idea that the transformers are nearing extinction LIKE THE TITLE SAYS, MICHAEL BAY YOU DUMBFUCK. Fifth Movie: A prequel movie. About the war on cybertron and what drove them to this war in the first place. Have references to the Allspark, the Fallen, Megatronus' rise to power, the Matrix of Leadership, the Ark, and finally set up everything that's supposed to take place in the first four movies. There, the prequel movie only about transformers, for transformers, no humans at all. Yay!
"Piece of shit" probably says it all. I haven't seen it yet and my expectations are really hitting rock-bottom. Ah, I really used to love this franchise. Maybe Marvel can be an answer?? :)
Me and my wife just watched it. The segment after UK onward, she said she nearly cried, just being lost. Also, by the time bumble bee spoke with his true voice to Optimus, my wife took off her 3d glasses, was closed to breaking them, looked at the rest of the audience and did a wave as if to say, what...?!?! I myself am lost for words and never looked at my sweetheart the whole time because I really didn't know how to explain any of this to her.
"I have to return some video tapes" That T-shirt is fucking amazing, where did you get it dude? Im a huge American Psycho fan, one of my favorite movies.
I agree with John, the first movie was good,it wasn't a great movie but entertaining, had a plot you could follow, the CGI-fest was on a tolerable level and even the humour wasn't totally cringe all the time. And there's a reason for this:Steven Spielberg was heavily involved in the movie,as Exec.Producer, the scenes with Sam and Bumblebee have clearly his signature. Then,Paramount gave M.Bay free reign over this franchise and he turned it completely to shit.At this point, the studio knows it's crap, the actors involved like Mark Wahlberg & Sir Anthony Hopkins know it's crap, hell even M.Bay knows it's crap. But as long they make money, they will continue to make them. What this franchise needs,is a fresh, clean start and a total reboot, made by somebody with talent and fresh ideas.Basically, they need to find somebody to do with Transformers, what Nolan did for Batman, because Transformers has potential for a good franchise.
I hope you get hired by a tv station or blog or something you have the most charisma of any UA-cam movie critic. You and Stuckmann should become the next Siskel and Ebert duo
People forget that the best storyline in transformers had no humans and was a war on cybertron. Why can't we just have that?? Or have a bunch of slaves (humans, aliens, whatever) rebuilding cybertron and the autobots fuck it up. 10/10 review man, keep it up!
The beginning was good, the middle was meh, the end was terrible. I literally wanted to leave so badly at the end. I didn't even wait for the after credit scenes, I was fucking OUT. The only good part of the WHOLE MOVIE was Anthony Hopkins and Cogman
CinemaStone Hey Batman please save my kryptonian mom, him saying Martha let Batman know he was talking about a HUMAN woman, it just so happens that name also means the world to Batman. It was''hey lets be best friends", its holy shit I'm no better than Joe Cool, the man who killed my mother. ''Martha" was a trigger word for Batman's obvious ptsd. Him having a problem with killing and seeing the error in his ways fulfills his redemption arc. That's great writing btw ''save my mom please!" Superman wanted to let him know with as little words as possible to save my human mother, "save Martha'' was the most efficient way. The "Listen Bruce.." maybe he was going to converse with Batman, but Batman attacked probably because he didn't want Supes to have a chance at killing him. Superman then wanted to knock sense into the hardheaded Batman, not knowing he had kryptonite grenades. I mean did you want them to fight or not? They had to fight a little before they teamed up, & it worked out.
CinemaStone Because if Superman said "save my mom", Batman would've thought "oh yeah, his equally dangerous alien mom, I don't give a shit" but Martha? That's a human name. Batman didn't spare Superman because his mother had the same name, that was just a spark. He did it because he realized that Superman is very much a human being. Lois coming in just confirms that he's just a normal man with superpowers. Clark Kent also investigated on Batman and he knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Safe to assume that he knows enough about his life to trigger something. Pretty clever, actually. Oh and... even if Batman was willing to save his unknown mom, how the hell would he find her? At least with Martha, he has a name. Makes it easier to find someone. Why this scene is so controversial is beyond my fucking comprehension. It really isn't that hard to turn your brain on when you watch a movie.
You loved the first one so much more because it's the only one Spielberg gave a damn about. He was the most directly involved in the production so he could save it from Bay. So we get awesome Spielberg scenes like Bumblebee approaching the window in the yard. Bay doesn't know how to pull that off alone and just makes noise.
My interpretation: Opening scene We are dumb kids, we have cliches and dumb comments but its ok because we wont be in the rest of the film... right? Teenager Girl: Wrong. Anthony Hopkins was the best part of this movie, and the whole Witwiccan thing was cool, but man the Simmons thing... it just wasn't funny. I half expected a Shia cameo but his ladiesman217 pic was a callback was cool, i guess? 2 hrs in? Wheres Prime? Wasn't he supposed to be evil or something Prime shows up. "Im taking this shit, dont try to stop me" *Bumblebee tries to stop him* "I am evil" *Bumblebee speaks* Bitch no you aint "I am good again" Total fight = 3 mins. Final battle? Bunch of shit happens, I honestly didnt know if we were on Earth or Cybertron or New Zealand Outcast girl tells her little robot friend that hes small and ugly and nobody will notice him (POINTS FOR AMAZING BULLYISH REALISM MICHAEL BAY! you jackass) Megatron gets kicked out of a window instead of killed because SEQUELS!!!! Post credits scene to show that we are getting a sequel , yet Bay and Wahlberg aren't returning?
Favourite movies with robots in it? So many! Heres some of mine where robots play the most interesting part (rather than simply just being a robot in a movie): Terminator 1&2 I robot Bladerunner Alien(s) Does Robocop count as a robot? (The original) Ex Machina Ghost in the shell Just a few of my favs, add others as you see fit :)
Ima come out and say this and I'm being 100% honest I enjoy this what people are calling a piece of shit movie more than I enjoy Wonder Woman there said it I was bored while watching Wonder Woman but somehow it's opposite with this film so you people got no right to be angry with me for my opinion
People online love to trash both Megan Fox and Shia Labeouff, but if you really look at this franchise, these movies turned to shit after Megan and Shia were fired from the cast. There's a reason for that. They helped make the first movie what it is. These dreadful sequels are a testament to that fact. Shia brought humor to the first film and Megan brought sex appeal, as well as a little humor. The second TRANSFORMERS movie wasn't great, but it was definitely better than the rest of these sequels.
I mean the only reason I enjoy watching these movies is for the long, over-the-top, extreme, violent, epic fights involving Transformers. I went in expecting to see that, and I left happy because I got what I wanted. The visual effects are top notch and that's why I had to see it in a real IMAX. Despite the confusing and messy story and some unnecessary human scenes, you can't deny these movies are good for one thing and one thing only: epic action. The humor was pretty good too.
"The best thing about this movie?"...no. Mark was one of the main reasons I complained about this movie. Why we felt the need to focus on him dodging drones for what felt like a good 40 minutes is beyond me. This is a TRANSFORMERS movie, we could've seen at least several scenes of intense autobot vs. decepticon action...but no...we just seem to love that camera on good ol' Marky. Bull.
I actually really liked Anthony Hopkins in the movie. I mean, it was soo cool to see him having fun, throwing jokes. At least he had fun. What I'm trying to say is, Anthony Hopkins, is the only thing that I enjoyed about The Last Knight...
John's skit probably has a higher rotten tomatoes score than Transformers 5...
ricky99la definitely has more fun action than Transformers 5!!!
10/10 IGN. That banana is already nominated for best actor at the oscars
The Weiner League I won't be surprised if it is nominated for some technical awards because revenge of the fallen and dark of the moon were
osskeet thank you for analyzing my joke, however I wasn't talking about the actual transformers movie I was sarcastically talking about the one he made
The Weiner League You may joke, but considering how shitty the Oscars really are...
*Cough* Oscar winning Suicide Squad *Cough*
yeah transformer will probably get a effect or sound mixing nomination at the very least if not wins it.

I'm impressed you actually spent the money to buy the toys just for the skit.
Still more effort put in and more entertaining than anything Micheal Bay has done though...
I think he already had them...
Seb Vidéos Nah, those are new toys that were just released for the new movie. I've seen them on shelves.
Him buying the toys is bad, the movie company will think he enjoyed the movie and people went out to purchase the toys lol

that woman's restroom story was pretty damn funny
funny now, but can you imagine the fear they felt....
theFLICKpick you should've looked them in the eyes and said "don't get scared now"
"Now's not the time for fear.. That comes later"
Just stare them down and say "ladies...". Works 100% of the time.
That story had a better plot twist than anything I experienced during this movie.
He playin with those toys like Sid from Toy Story though😂
exactly what I was thinking
Brandon May 😂😂

Lol
Compared to the actual movie yours was... LIT!
Brandon Howard I liked the special effects and action
Right?! Can't wait for the 4k release
Brandon Howard yeah I'm preordering it on bluray lol
Gotta use that Best Buy credit card...
Brandon Howard it comes with a steelbook that has deleted scenes and special features
Make a Cybertron origins prequel and take out all of the shit human characters. That's the only way they'll make a decent transformers film.
JustTooLit Too bad that will never happen. Micheal Bay won't make a Transformers movie about the Transformers, thats just silly :/
JustTooLit That would be an animation, not a live action movie, honestly. xD
it'd be like the upcoming lions king live action film lol. All CG but looks real.
Highly unlikely.... That's a helluva lot of money needed to make.
Never seen a review so accurate. Especially about the IMAX/Standard cropping stuff, that got so annoying.
Luke Mitchell I literally dedicated an entire section in my review just talking about aspect ratios in general and tried to put in as much detail as I can related to the aspect ratio changes in this "film."
Literally the best mark wahlberg impression ever
People:Can someone make the worst movie of 2017?°
Michael Bay:HOLD MY BEER
T5: The Last *_Shitte_* coming soon in cinemas near you!

That movie will not be as bad as those movies. At least The My Little Pony movie has some talent people on it.
Not Terminator 5 right ? (That fucking sucked too)
I feel like we're getting old school flickpick back and I love it 🤙
The whole video should have just been John playing with his Transformers toys and a banana in his backyard.
I know right! This is the best we can expect from the Transformers series now.
I agree about the first Transformers movie. It was just a entertaining movie. The issue with these Transformers movies is they took it to far, they should have made it a trilogy and thats it. Even if the Transformers movies were all bad, it should have been a trilogy. Love your videos John!
They were not all bad the first one was good

Wait so there's a big buff guy named john the flicking pick in the background holding Optimus prime and bumblebee?
Seriously this is why I subscribed to your channel. This is the type of videos I want to see here!
I clicked on this so fast!
god damn the intro, you really outdone yourself this time John! :D
Wow, that short in the beginning was way more fun than the actual movie.
I'm so sorry this movie caused you to walk into the women's restroom
LMAO 😂😂 John ur Insane!!Opening with the toys was EPIC!!
i can;t believe i slept better in the theater than in my own room during this movie
"It is the external wombs which heal the quickest"....... BOOM 💥😂😂😂😂
transformer the last Knight movie is not totally a bad movie though,I really enjoyed this movie though
"I have to return some video tapes"
That T-shirt is fucking amazing, where did you get it dude?
Im a huge American Psycho fan, one of my favorite movies.
Imagine if Michael Bay sees this review while John is working with him on Ambulance 2022 🤣
that skit in the beginning is a billion times better than the movie
so happy to see you back John!!! finally the world can feel magical and mystical again!
This is the second worst movie I've seen this year
Okay I'll bite. What's the 1st?
Pelcogo Fifty Shades Darker
MegaSoulHero
Did you watch them in cinema? Why the fuck do you support that shit with your money?
laertesdd I actually watched the Last Knight and Fifty Shades Darker online
MegaSoulHero
Thank G*d. I'm relieved...
You impression of the movie deserves an A+.
If that banana was in the movie, the movie would be 10x better.
Favorite Robot movies?
- Robocop 1 & 2
- Terminator 1 & 2
- Robot Jocks
- The Matrix & M:Reloaded
I really appreciate how John was Able to explain the plot visually in this review, which leads to a much more believable world overall.
Best live action Movie Review even.
TRANSFORMERS The Last Knight is really called Unicorn awaking because they took that from TRANSFORMERS prime.
Yeah and they fucked it up.
Lmao that opening skit was epic
3:20 😂 lol bro.
Wow the fight you did in the beginning was just as long as the actual movie fight.
Was anyone else hoping that bumblebee would say "Martha"
Jaxson Shoemaker here have a dislike
CinemaStone Okay lets get into it, why was it retarded?
Jaxson Shoemaker hahahaha YES!!😂😂
CinemaStone
Because if Superman said "save my mom", Batman would've thought "oh yeah, his equally dangerous alien mom, I don't give a shit" but Martha?
It really isn't that hard to turn your brain on when you watch a movie.
that intro was funny. your shirt is cool
Flickpick's story about going to a women's bathroom had better and coherent plot than Transformers: Last Shit.
Where did you get the stunt double for that banana?
3 years ago I called AOE the Transformers' "Darkest hour" ... I was wrong, it was just the prelude
I like ur reviews when they are inundated with you pushing a product. Good review.
My brother thought you smacking the Transformers together was you showering for some fucking reason.
My interpretation:
Opening scene
We are dumb kids, we have cliches and dumb comments but its ok because we wont be in the rest of the film...
Wasn't he supposed to be evil or something
Prime shows up.
"Im taking this shit, dont try to stop me"
*Bumblebee tries to stop him*
"I am evil"
*Bumblebee speaks* Bitch no you aint
"I am good again"
Total fight = 3 mins.
Final battle?
Bunch of shit happens, I honestly didnt know if we were on Earth or Cybertron or New Zealand
Outcast girl tells her little robot friend that hes small and ugly and nobody will notice him (POINTS FOR AMAZING BULLYISH REALISM MICHAEL BAY! you jackass)
Megatron gets kicked out of a window instead of killed because SEQUELS!!!!
Post credits scene to show that we are getting a sequel , yet Bay and Wahlberg aren't returning?
Love the humor/ craziness in this review. You got a new sub here!
Favourite movies with robots in it? So many! Heres some of mine where robots play the most interesting part (rather than simply just being a robot in a movie):
Terminator 1&2
I robot
Bladerunner
Alien(s)
Does Robocop count as a robot? (The original)
Ex Machina
Ghost in the shell
Just a few of my favs, add others as you see fit :)
DID JOHN JUST THROW SHOTS AT JEREMY JAHNS? LMAO
I actually thought it was better than age of extinction , I liked it
Freddy Banuelos I too enjoy getting shit on rather than being shot in the gut....
and you are the reason why these shit movies kept getting made....thanks :(
blackfox1320 lol I loved it ima watch it 4 more times
Ima come out and say this and I'm being 100% honest I enjoy this what people are calling a piece of shit movie more than I enjoy Wonder Woman there said it I was bored while watching Wonder Woman but somehow it's opposite with this film so you people got no right to be angry with me for my opinion
Blaze Blockade So you're admitting you have to follow the crowd and don't have an opinion for yourself?
Is it me or do these new Transformers toys seem way too simplistic as compared to the old school ones?
Wow, that skit was 100x better than any transformers movie I have ever seen. 10/10
I'm sorry to inform you that although I love Hopkins, he was replaced as Hannibal by Mads Mikkelsen.
Towards 75% in of the movie, i think it was very VISUALLY appealing. I really want to know which cameras they used towards the end. I hate imax tho
yes the 5th one is always the turn around point for the series ...
Bull.
I couldn't believe when the aspect ratio was literally changing almost every shot, never known another movie where this happened
It is not michael bay fault but the writters somehow they seem like they're smoking .Bay isnt even involed why are so many people angry
My thoughts:
IMDb:2.3/10
Rotten tomatoes:34%
Review:Plot is complicated,Dialogue is boring & not as good as the 1st one
Im a kid and I was not bored of this movie in my opinion it was awesome 👍🏻
That intro was the best film I've seen allll year
I gave up on the Transformers films, when they have blurr & Hotrod, I'd love to go see another one. Best Robot movie, 'The Iron Giant'.
I actually really liked Anthony Hopkins in the movie. I mean, it was soo cool to see him having fun, throwing jokes. At least he had fun.
What I'm trying to say is, Anthony Hopkins, is the only thing that I enjoyed about The Last Knight...
