  • Almeda mall opened in 1968 and was a nearly
identical mall to the northwest mall. the mall
was a hotspot for shopping until 1978 when
aybrook Mall opened. by the 2000s, the mall
nad a major decline in shopping due to major
retailers. in 2017 the mall received major
renovations for a new modern appearance to it.
Ignore the commentary, it was just me talking with my friend.

Back in the day before internet, malls were popular shopping destinations. These days you don't see as many around. They demolished the San Jacinto Mall which was over in Baytown, TX two years ago. I remember my mom took me to the San Jacinto Mall back on the day it first opened & I was a little kid at the time. It was the place & had many fun memories visiting it. Later in about 2004 or so, it slowly began to downsize. It was on Garth Rd & I-10 on the southwest side of the intersection.

@chillythefox8548 now all thaz left are the sign, the palm trees over by where Macy's rear entrance use to be, & some of the parking lot light poles. That whole property is fenced off.

I used to go to this mall here and there. Now I just avoid it in general. I really don’t like going to Almeda Mall. The mall probably won’t improve because of the side of town that it’s in, not the best in my opinion.
