I made this blueberry cake last week! It tastes really good. As you have written to put the blueberry compote generously, so did I, and you're right, the compote is not sweet :) everything is just nice. The only thing is the Genoise... I personally find your tutorial on the Genoise unclear, some "hints" seem to be missing.. just insufficient info in general. I ended up failing my Genoise (but still edible thanks to the compote and cream). If anyone is planning on making this, I suggest you to look for some more descriptive and informative tutorials on making Genoise cake sheets on UA-cam. I mean, these types of video (from Jaconde, Hidamari, CookingTree.. etc) they are very aesthetically pleasing to watch but they are not for beginners and they lack a lot of information, which is usually done by explaining verbally by a more professional or beginner-friendly bakers on UA-cam. Baking could be simple but it's not easy.

honestly, a blueberry puree would incorporate the taste from the skin along with the flesh of the berries, so it might be just a little bit more bitter than the sauce on its own. however, the addition of the lemon juice will mostly cover that up

How to make the decoration flower?
