Our arrangement of "Cavern of Remembrance" makes ample use of the cavernous setting by presenting us with the opportunity to play with echoey choir and woodwinds.
By removing the percussion from the original track, we felt it gave the piece slightly more depth. Quotes from various Organization members make an appearance later on, as well as a statement from one of the members that truly deserved her own data battle in the "Deep Anxiety" portion of the track.

In celebration of KINGDOM HEARTS and the stunning melodies of Yoko Shimomura, Utada Hikaru, Takeharu Ishimoto, and Tsuyoshi Sekito, we present Project Destati’s second volume.
DARKNESS is the highly-anticipated follow-up album to Project Destati’s 2014 Billboard-charting soundtrack album “LIGHT.” The album is a musical amalgamation of fan-favorite themes from the KINGDOM HEARTS series, re-assembled in an all-new fashion like long-forgotten memories.
Featuring a live string orchestra and industry-leading soloists, DARKNESS is a dark, grand, and mysterious musical experience that aims to capture Tetsuya Nomura’s own imagination.

That is where I died way too many times! The cars were nothing compared to that train-wreck of a fight, lmao.
Yeah, that's for sure. I had to rely on Final Form and Thundaga soooooo much to get through that or else I'd get slaughtered. But not even that could top Data Xaldin. That dude gave me the HARDEST time--even the Lingering Will was easier for me to finish.
I have to say, the only issue with the nobody gauntlet was the final bit right before the door, only that one fight out of the nobody battles was tricky

I am in love with the way this piece has been composed.
You can hear various character themes throughout the piece such as naminé, Xion. Later into the piece you have the piano part of Cavern of Remembrance playing with a flute countermelody (which actually starts before the piano) that plays the theme where Terra and Xehanort join hearts.
Later you have a similar 2 melody deal with Dearly Beloved and Vector to the Heavens. You also have a hint of Roxas's theme over Deep Anxiety.
True to the tune, not only des the track include both the themes included within the Cavern of Remembrance, it also plays into its' own name by bringing up significant memories within the games story, that of Xion's death, Xion herself and Naminé, both of whom represent the lack of memories and memories respectively, Roxas who is also known about but generally unremembered. And who particularly exists to remember Terra and Xehanort's clash? No one in universe right now.
The cavern itself brings back all these significant memories which people (generally speaking) do not have. Hats off to you Project Destati, best composition of the album by far in my opinion.
Yes! I had similar thoughts regarding the motif with memories, but you've explained it so well and in more detail than I could hope to!
The only other musical cameo that I noticed was Organization XIII during the violin solo from 4:04-4:09 which obviously references the data battles
And... those data battles are memories in and of themselves! Thanks for adding that, I'd heard it but neglected to mention it.

2:53 , mixing xions theme and dearly beloved into it was a beautiful touch to the song. I would've loved for this to play during the final keyblade war with all the remnants of xehanort vs the keyblade wielders and each of their respective themes play at key moments during the battle ...truly inspiring

It's the Cavern of Rememberance not the Cavern of "I think I'm forgetting something really important" or Cavern of "Ice Cream"
All jokes aside, I think the idea is that if Xemnas' plan with Xion succeeded, she'd be in the Cavern instead of Roxas.

That's just the main theme of Deep Anxiety (heard at 2:13, 2:39, 3:05), but made more prominent by moving the usual accompanying piano to playing bass octaves instead, and given more grandeur

The Cavern of Remembrance is a location introduced in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. The area, located in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, is known for hosting the Organization XIII rematches, as well as having some of the hardest enemies in the game.
13 years later, Kingdom Hearts III's ReMind DLC brought back the Cavern, wherein it serves to rematch each member of Real Organization XIII (a can of worms you can open yourself) with a significant spike in difficulty compared to the base game. Most having new moves, all having new arrangements, and some to experiment combos.
