Great info. Like the time and effort you put into your work. One thing though. I`ve never heard of bedding the 1-1 1/2 " out past the recoil lug ? I thought you stopped right at the recoil lug ? Could that pressure on that part of the barrel cause any issues down the road, especially during extreme climate changes in the day.

I have three Remington 700s. All three are junk. Floorplates fall open when the rifle is fired, It's very difficult to load the magazines, and they all needed triggers and aftermarket stocks just to shoot. Hope to talk to you soon. Great video.
Which is it magazines or fixed floorplates are you handicap my 10 year old son loads my 700 with no problem. Dime size group at 100 yards with walmart ammo. Junk I don't think so bye Felicia
nobody buys a Remington 700 for out of the box performance though. the 700 is the most heavily modified rifle out there with by far the largest aftermarket parts support all your really buying is a serial numbered action and a barrel.

I thought about having my Rifle pillar bedded and glass bedded but when I shot it twice and hit two bullseye's I didn't touch it and Yes it is a 700 Remington and it's laser Accurate ..
If my rem 700 aac is already shooting sub half moa. Consistently Should I even consider truing the action and blue printing it ? Or just leave it alone. It's a custom build. That's just the only thing I didn't do to it.
Is squaring, and truing the same thing? I went to a gunsmith told him I wanted my Remington 700 SPS to get truing they wouldn't do it on lap the bolt they said only if I get a new barrel would they do it
+shiftcon with all the machine work you'd have to do to the old barrel, you'd might as well just use a brand new blank barrel, which would be around the same amount of work.
Villamor78 All depends on the rifle, barrel size etc. With heavy weight barrels it gives support to the heavy barrel, otherwise it could create a tension spot right at the front of the action barrel lug. On a sporter weight barrel, not really necessary.

if you are trueing threads in the receiver, the factory barrel is useless. by the time you clean both threads up, your threads will be too loose.
