Yes I love that idea! I would love to see more indie brands featured as well as their backstory. I am always interested and curious about these types of brands and what they offer to consumers. It's a great way to support smaller brand owners, black owned brands, eco-friendly and cruelty free brands etc., since we are voting with our purchase decisions. I'm sure many have some great hidden gems!

I had an idea for one of your foundation Fridays... I recall you recently asked for ideas that don't involve a full days wear test. As someone who is constantly mixing foundations, I thought you could do a video about foundations that mix great together. I'm currently mixing Wander nude illusion with Catrice HD and loving it.

Hey Taylor! l I'm a film and television MUA and fellow brush gal myself. A lot of people don't know that the vision cover cream itself is not meant to be a standalone product, especially in places like the undereye. It is what we call a concentrate, which means a small amount of it it needs to be "cut" with a moisturizing agent (I recommend oil, even for my super oily skin girls!) I recommended that you both prime your skin, as well as mixing vision cover cream upon application with the Danessa Myricks Beauty Oil! This might help you with the creasing, and the overproduction of oil that you experienced. I didn't get to see your powder application, but with this one you want to dust off as much excess powder from your brush as possible before applying because layering an excess of different textures of makeup (like too much matte powder over a dewy base) is one of THE main causes of creasing throughout the day, and it's one that a lot of people don't think about! It seems extra, but i promise you I swear by these techniques for an all day on-set application for HD film and i would love to see you try! This was so pretty on you when it was freshly applied and you did great on the match! So I think if you give it another chance used just a teeny bit differently, it will give you an even more beautiful result that will stand the test of time! I loved this video, and I hope you are recovering swiftly ❤️
What powder would you recommend with this foundation?
@@katehorne9653 you can be more flexible with your choice of formula in powder, but I recommend using a translucent one that contains no coverage/color since the Vision Cover Cream is so high pigment!!❤️ let me know if there’s anything else you need answered
@Abla910 thanks so much! I continued to work with the product with oils/tints/moisturizers/other lightweight foundations etc. With a light powder dusting of my dermablend loose powder on top but sadly couldn't get this to work for me. Or perhaps I prefer a more natural finish. (this seemed pretty radiant). I would look super oily throughout the day with all the ways I tried it and wasn't getting all day wear. It's a shame because it feels super lightweight on the skin and felt hydrating on my dry skin. If you have any of tips for making this work I would love to know. I need a simple go to and this seemed like a lot of work sadly.
Texture minimizing?!?! Sign me up! It's so hard to wear foundation under a mask, I tried I keep breaking out from it . But I'm all for trying new brands at home! Don't forget to update us!

I’ve loved Danessa Myricks forever and I have a ton of stuff from her brand. Don’t sleep on it!!! Ps you can also use the foundation as a full coverage concealer under the eyes. Her beauty oil is stunning (I have the lightest and darkest) and her highlighter palette is out of this world. You need it.

I love thse sorts of foundations with the Nikkia joy powder. it makes it so velvety and matte and can rescue any shiny foundations
Danessa’s foundation is definitely more for photos and fashion imo, and for building her signature glossy skin look. I’d suggest (based on when I tried it) powdering thoroughly, using the intense highlighter powder, then applying a thin layer of the balm on the cheeks. I’ve seen people replicate her amazing glowy base with the products, which I think is super cool.

I freaking love your makeup in the video. I think your blush is a little closer to your under eyes and it looks so youthful and beautiful. I also just browsed this brands website and a full face of their products would be awesome! I’m intrigued by so many of them!

tip: the Dew Wet Balm is great to get rid of the powder finish/look on your cheeks from using a powder highlighter or blush🙂 just use the tiniest amount. or make your own cream blush or highlighter with it by mixing

U should get the beauty oil it doesn’t have sparkle but u can use before makeup and it gives u a great glow. If u add some to ur foundation omg it will go into the skin like butter and feels so great. still has coverage but it’s glowy

I just discovered Danessa Myrick's line a few months ago and the foundation is BOMB. Gorgeous, full coverage and creamy. It can be sheared out with an oil and looks so, so pretty. It's great for dry skin. The undertones run very warm. Like you said, it's really hard to choose the correct shade online. I ended up with N3 and N6 and I mix the two to get pretty close to my shade (NC40). I was so excited to see you do this review for Foundation Friday. I hope when you try it again with a powder it works for you better. Thanks Taylor! Your videos never disappoint.

I've heard it's one of those high/pure pigment base products that is really good mixed with an oil, moisturizer or primer! Similar to the no7 ones you like and the cover fx. Shelbey Wilson on UA-cam mixed it with an oil and it looked stunning on her.

Danessa uses a three step process with all of her products. I’ll see if I can find the video where she talks about it. She usually starts with a facial oil, then her highlight then foundation over top. I’ve used that process with her foundations and it turned out amazing.
