A Closer Look at the Gen 3 Coyote in the Revology Mustang

- Earlier this year, Revology Cars started deliveries of its new, licensed reproduction 1965-1968 Mustang and Shelby GT models equipped with the latest version of Ford’s 5.0L Ti-VCT DOHC engine, known as the “Gen 3 Coyote”. The all-aluminum Gen 3 Coyote revs to 7500rpm and produces 460hp and 420lb-ft of torque from its 5.0 liters of displacement, while at the same time delivering modern drivability, reliability, and fuel economy. Since then, we have been deluged with requests for more details on how Revology packages the Gen 3 Coyote in the early Mustang architecture. In this video, Revology founder Tom Scarpello and chief engineer Aaron Wright discuss how the team made it happen.

This car from the factory, fully loaded with a V8, weighed 3,000 pounds. I can't speculate whether or not the custom suspension added weight or removed weight. With the Gen 3 Coyote engine, this car most likely weights under 3,500 pounds. If this car will hook off the line, with a 10 speed automatic, this car would probably run high 10's in the quarter mile.

I would recommend painting or silk-screening the battery charging port to find it easier, especially when someone has a dead battery at night.

I thought coyote's didn't have a hydraulic pump and run electric steering. Did you mount an additional hydraulic pump for the hydro boost brakes?

Ford Performance also sucks! I had A Brand New Gen II spin a rod bearing in less then 20 miles and Ford Performance told me to get screwed! Ford Performance Warranty sucks shit and ao does their support!!!
This is a nice show car, race car. But I like options instead of going through all the head ache of putting this beast of an engine into this car. Why not make the car as close as to the original design. And put in a 4 or small 6 cylinder engine. It would make if more affordable and a lot easier to work on. And should be a lot better on gas. A few video's back Tom was complaining about car pollution. I remember a few years back when gas went to $5.00 a gallon. That hurt my feeling as well as my pocket book.
Just curious how your feeling today about the gas prices? They are going to be well over $5 gallon this summer. It’s already past the $5 mark in a good many states now
