Credit to Gregory Mann, the voice of Pinocchio, he's REALLY good for a child actor. Child actors are pretty hit or miss, but this kid is consistently fantastic. Well done.
He's got such a golden voice. Hope his talents bring him far!
Well said! I was thinking that the entire film!!
😊😊😊
@@whoareyoutoaccuseme6588 And real musicality. Those numbers were not straightforward; lots of strange key changes.
💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋OK
Gregory Mann was incredible. Really they all were but he did phenomenal voice acting for his age.
What an impressive voice!
Super impressive
Agreed!!! 🥰
I fell in love with his voice instantly
Ciao papa had me crying... Gregory Mann has an angelic voice!

The voice of Gepetto when he started singing made me cry. He looks so sweet and kind. Like a grandpa I wish I had...
Crazy that he played a crotchety squib like filch right?
@@hstrangemusic Right?? That and Walder Frey in Game of Thrones if you've seen it. A very, very evil character in case you haven't. lol
@@VanessaLeavitt but the absolute sweetest guy in real life I gotta say :D Met him twice and he was super lovely! Loved his performance in this one :)
Yes, seeing the actor sing the song made me choke up too, so heartfelt, like he tapped into that place in his heart where he has felt loss, and yes like a sweet sweet grandpa you wish you had
@F i T ikr!? He's so precious! He makes me want to hug him and tell him everything will be okay. He also looks like a great amazing grandpa. I never really had a grandpa for 15 years of my life because all he never really knew how to be a grandpa to me and my cousins. All he does is show up and eat all our food. While my grandpa on my dad's side passed before I was born. I'm currently 17. And I have a grandpa who loves me and knows how to interact with me and my brothers.
Finn Wolfhard was unrecognizable, fantastic work to the voice cast
I was really surprised to see Finn's name in the credits. I thought back to whoever it is that used this voice, but there's really only one candidate.
I really wish we got to see Candlewick in the ending.

the entire Cast is wonderful and I loved that their voices are very well perfect in all the characters in Pinocchio.
Agreed ❤
I could have done without Ewan. Pinocc was annoying early on but it became clear why they chose him in the last few musical numbers. Everyone else was perfect.
@@vgold4286 then who would you cast as Sebastian? Can’t really say I’ve got any alternates besides maybe Diego Luna.
Except pinocchio, his voice was irritating
Blanchest is a f monkey
Ewan McGregor as Cricket is pure perfection.
I love how his song was always interrupted until the end.
Neither old age or darth vader can kill him
Cricket: hello there

I was never a fan of Pinocchio but I love this version. The cast, the story, the music. Loved it all.

Oh yes agree!!!
I Never liked Pinochio at all. But this version for sure is a masterpiece. Now I want Guilhermo to make his version of every fairy taile. 🤣🤣🤣
Nah this looks horrible the style is creepy and gives off horror movie vibes
Seeing David Bradley singing made me want to cry

Geppetto sings that song “My Son” like he means every song word with all his heart & soul, to a wonderful kid who had his whole life ahead of him. ❤
This voice cast was stellar! Cate Blanchett as Spazzatura was hilarious and I also was pleasantly surprised to hear Christoph Waltz as Count Volpe.
Well of course he’d be a great villain. I mean, have you seen him in Inglorious Basterds?
Or in the Water for Elephants. He makes a great villain
Christoph Waltz a villain? The devil you say!
Ya I didnt rmr the name of the character so I just put _villian_ but I can see this will be a problem. dX
@@Blitzo8390 all that’s missing is for Christoph Waltz to play an ally of the Empire of Japan in another, then he would’ve been an ally of all 3 Axis powers during World War II.
Props to the voice actor of Pinocchio. Hes hat that prime age where he can hit those high notes flowlessly
Had the pleasure of meeting and working with David Bradley recently and he's such a lovely person! Del Toro strikes gold with another masterpiece of a film and this is arguable my favourite Pinnochio adaptation!
Wow I love this ❤

I don't know too many of David Bradley's roles besides Harry Potter and Game of Thrones but it makes me so happy to see him as a main character in Pinocchio. His voice is so distinct and he made Gepetto more than a sweet, old man like how they depicted him in the orignal Disney cartoon. He made Gepetto more rough around the edges
Whenever they need an actor to play the original Doctor, William Hartnell (1908-1975), in a "Doctor Who" special, they use David Bradley. He looks and sounds the part.
0:19 I'm surprised that this Finn Wolfhard and his voice is perfect in character candlewick. ❤️ 🎙️👏
I LOVE how much effort and enthusiasm Ewan McGregor puts into his performance!
I like how Finn Wolfhard put on an English accent for Candlewick
This Pinocchio really brings me back to when James and the Giant Peach came out when i was a kid. Love stop animation
Especially all the sea scenes were bringing me back to my childhood, James and the giant peach was always my go to.
Yes!! I wonder why it seemed familiar somehow yet so original. Did Guillermo direct James and the Giant Peach?
@@vvelvettearss No connection. James was by stop motion master Henry Sellick (also known for Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline). Though it does definitely feel like Del Toro's team took notes from Sellick's work when doing this project. Makes sense, learning from the greats is never a bad choice, and it works quite well for Del Toro's smililarly creepy sensibilities.
Gregory Mann was absolutely fantastic! His singing was wonderful, loved every second of this movie!
I wonder if he had fun singing “Big Baby Il Duce March” (the song Pinocchio sings to Mussolini about poop).

Hats off to Finn Wolfhard, I had no idea it was him voicing Candlewick.

It's absolutely insane that Cate blanchett played spazaturra and I love it
The movie had me in tears. What a wonderful, wonderful heartfelt masterpiece from an artist who’s biggest inspiration in life was the little wooden puppet. His mother who used to gift him Pinocchio dolls unfortunately passed away shortly before the film was released. In a way this was his shining tribute to her.
Watched the movie twice. Cried like a baby. Amazing story telling.
Best Pinocchio ever! ❤️❤️
Fun Fact: David Bradley worked with Guillermo del Toro before in the Tales of Arcadia saga as Merlin
they also worked together on The Strain
I loved this movie so much. David Bradley particularly stood out to me. I’m so used to seeing him play grumpy intimidating men and his performance in this was just absolutely charming and wonderful.
Pinocchio's singing voice is so unfathomably pure and beautiful. A literal once in a life time performance they captured. He'll have many more as he gets older and hits new benchmarks, I'm sure of it. But the fact that we got these performances now is something incredible.
Absolutely loved how the story was adapted to still be bittersweet, but with the contrast of traditional Italian Catholicism and the war's influence on people's mindsets. Of course, also the message that in spite of being a rebel, Pinocchio was the most human and taught Geppetto that. The running gag of Ewan having his musical number interrupted was so fun, and I loved the faerie/biblically-acccurate angel puppets and the entire concept of the underworld/death, Very beautiful, worth watching more than once.
Amazing cast. In one of the best movies this year. My opinion.
Just remembering the scenes, and along with the music and so the voice actors.
Made my tears go down, softly, but never stopped them.
This is the best Pinocchio adaptation I ever watched.
I’m so so impressed with Gregory. He did such a fantastic job playing this excited boy and his singing is so freaking good! Kid is going places for sure lol
The ending had me in tears.
I cried as well 😅🥲
I really lost it when Spazzatura faded out & a 3rd tombstone faded in. 😢
Gregory Mann has a bright future ahead of him.
Being that he can both act and sing beautifully will open a lot of doors for him.
More of David Bradley please, he is a jewel for animated movies

Ladies and gentlemen: PERFECTION!
This movie is absolutely amazing!! A story we all know and love but with so much extra heart and soul! I’ve never cried for a puppet before in my life and this one hit my heart! Just such a beautiful message and such a beautiful piece of art!!
Yes
What an amazing film. So, prior to watching this I was like "Another Pinocchio? Most likely a darker version since Guillermo del Toro is doing it... but what could I possibly not have seen already?" I changed my mind after seeing it. It was such an experience, and easily one of the best films I've seen this year. It was a very mature take on the material, dare I say the closest we have gotten to being true to the source material. The allegories, the metaphors, the fascisms, war, life, death, loss, rebirth, father-son relationship, supernatural = everything rolled into one and done so darn well. I got teary eyed several times during the movie.
The music was also incredibly beautiful. Usually when there were musical numbers in films I tend to skip them, but not this one. David Bradley's voice was an absolute standout and the stop-motion animation (there were times when I was like "Nah.... probably CGI" but no) is quite possibly the best way to tell the story. Well done to Guillermo del Toro and thank you for such a wonderful and unforgettable film. Well done on the Golden Globe nominations (3 I believe). Oscar nomination is guaranteed!
The casting is spot on man this movie made me cry its beautiful masterpiece.
Now I love Spazzatura even more
Never liked Filch in Harry Potter but he made me cry in this film haha! British grandpops voice and young British accent Pinocchio are so heartwarming.
And David Bradley was excellent like the first Doctor too 😊
Ohhh wow what an actor, just started watch the strain and recognized his voice in the movie right away.
Wow, didn't know Finn landed this role😲🤗
They are all so incredibly talented! The young boy who voices Pinocchio is something else!
Gregory's voice acting was superb and his singing was angelic. HUGE cheers!!!
This movie was pure magic. The entire family of 6 people utterly transfixed to the screen
The cast did an AMAZING job. Guillermo del Toro el orgullo mexicano
Man this movie was so good. I was not expecting this at all.
just watched this movie..and rethinking the story and everything that gone through each character just makes me cry again. It’s beautiful, hurt and moving at the same time - i cried a lot literally
Gregory Mann’s voice is just soooo incredible. So pure and clear and sweet. What an amazing vocalist and actor!
David Bradley's voice is amazing here; I prefer his "imperfect" singing to the corrected/autotuned version, I wish it had been kept this way in the final cut. Either way an incredible song for an incredible film.

I have a feeling that English child actor Gregory Mann who did the voice of Pinocchio will be appearing in more films to come after this
This whole time, Ewan McGregor was the cricket?!?! How the hell did I miss that?? I love that man, and (obviously) he did an amazing job.😁
Hand this movie The Oscar!!!! Brilliant work of art!!!
I have to say the voice actor of Geppetto has a beautiful singing voice
Gregory Mann was incredible ❤ Well done, kid
At first I'm skeptical about David Bradley being the warm, gentle and kindhearted Geppetto. I always envisioned him as the treacherous, backstabbing Walder Frey, when I first heard his voice it reminded me of The Red Wedding but I eventually warm up to his version of Geppetto. David Bradley can play a good guy after all.
I was skeptical too, remembering David Bradley mostly for Argus Filch from Harry Potter and Walder Frey who he played exceptionally well as I hated his guts everytime he was onscreen after the red wedding. Just testament to his talent as an actor
When I watched the traler and then the film, I warmed up to his performance of Geppetto. His acting during the scene at Carlo's grave brought me to tears and his song was so heartwarming. 🥺
The acting from everyone was superb
Wow this is an amazing job, the cast is sooooo goood! muy grande Guillermo del Toro, un orgullo mexicano sin duda alguna 🇲🇽🤍

The reason I wanted to watch this movie so bad because of GDT. Patiently wait for this for quite a long while even tho I never like any Pinocchio movie before and also I’m a big fan of Ewan McGregor!
