Awesome very informative! I looked this up on a whim after watching a salt mine video. Really cool to see how what's in two small shakers in your house come from such vastly different areas.
Fun Historical Facts: Pepper was so popular in the Roman Empire that they spend about 556 million sesterce and one Roman sesterce is equal to USD $2.25 making this transaction up almost 1.4 billion dollars.
Very interesting. And for those stating that the involvement of feet in the process is dirty clearly have no idea how almost all food was prepared and processed. There will be worse bacteria on the phone you're reading this on than the pepper once it's processed.
Lmaoooo😂 and wym once it’s processed? It’s done, it’s been processed, they’re gonna take all that dirt and pepper they swept up and throw that shit in a shaker and sell it
All these comments talking about the feet and I'm just sitting here astounded that they used a reed pipe cover of Kiss from a Rose by Seal as the background music lol. (btw people complaining about the feet, the vast majority of dried spices are heated before packaging to pasteurized them and remove bacteria, obviously they aren't going directly from their feet to your plate, stop being babies)
These comments don’t pass the vibe check; this is their livelihood. No one is forcing you to eat the pepper they produce, but damn have some compassion for other cultures and their practices.
I find it funny that "kiss from a rose" is played at the beginning. Someone was like, "we need old peaceful music for tye video" and the sound guy was like "i bet he won't notice if I use kiss from a rose"
My Piper Nigrum is 40 CM tall. The bottom 3 leaves have dropped, and for the past few months I do not see new leaves appearing there (only new growth occuring at the top). Do the leaves regrow during spring?
Most of your expensive port wine was smashed with feet among others. Yet u pretentiously drink it thinking you're classy. The pepper is clean. Get over yourselves..
Some cultures have no concept of cleanliness and hygiene. Their systems become immune from poisoning because they are used to eating like animals. I wouldn't even want to sniff food produced in such primitive and filthy environments.
What you eat every thing like this process. I meen almost everything. I hope this is much better that chemical coloring and processing. I don't need to eat your hygienic product to get Cancer .👍
People confuse peppers and chilies. Jalapenos, habaneros, and such like that are NOT peppers, they are chilies. The plant you see in the video is a pepper plant.
not bad my friend (well, whoever made this video). two comments: please do not use European medieval music (intro), Dravidian musical heritage should stay proud. this is more a facetious joke, .... I hope the feet of the harvesters are clean 🙂 Greetings from the other side of the planet. Enjoying white pepper right now on my tomatoes. PS: you should market pepper better! look at all the food items (idiotic salt is now a bog deal....), if you need help please contact me.
pretty sure that was an AWESOME cover of "kiss from a rose" at the beginning; AWESOME video!
YES!! kiss from a rose jump scare
Perfect narration, this video is informative and calming.

Nice, informative and intresting.
I loved this beautiful video and I loved the narrator!
Thanks, now whenever I put pepper on my food I'll be thinking about people stepping all over it and smearing it all over the ground lol
Awesome video 🙌

@@raphaeloliveira4987 Probably not but you can eat their feet according to that guy^

So it includes road dust?

I am more worried that there could be an adverse allergic reaction to their feet. I am worried about the well being of the workers.
I only searched for this when I bit into a peppercorn and was overwhelmed by the taste.

Nice to know black pepper we eat had been spread on the ground in dust and shit, and stepped on by human feet. >_
Trying to decide if the peppercorns that get stepped on are the premium ones or the great value ones....
They have vitamin F 😂
Not sure of how I feel about knowing my black pepper was crushed up by somebody’s feet. 😂
Same lol
That's from where we get the aroma 😂

Thats better than them having to insert them vaginally

Had a joint before dinner. Served pasta with whole black pepper corn on the side in a dispenser. Literally UA-cam’d the origin of this stuff.
Aah,,ya,ll, let get some of those seeds,,and turn on some rock ,n, roll music..and dance the night away...lol...🤗
And do the peppermint twist...😊
Omg... the feet..

I didn't know my pepper had dirty bare feet stomping on it on the bare ground... That's disgusting, I guess one less spice for this guy.

Mute the voice, use subtitles and the video is bearable.
Are you racist or am I crazy? 😚

So black pepper doesnt comes from peppers?
As you have seen, it grow to the vines.. just like grape vines but very different environment.
