Licence to kill is an underrated classic, easily top five Bond films ever. Spectacular action and Dalton playing a darkly charismatic and ruthless Bond.
My personal favorite Bond film. Dalton nails the performance, and the supporting cast is just as good. A whole host of charismatic villains, fun gadgets, great action, and even a secret underground lair! LTK feels like the perfect distillation of what Bond movies are.
What is interesting about this scene is that it is one of the most memorable chases in Bond history. Other chases had more rapid editing, or had faster vehicles or planes, but a TANKER chase of all things is quite a cool and unique thing. Anyone who has seen this film even once remembers it as the "Bond film with the tanker chase."
I completely agree! Probably the best action sequence in the whole series. Director John Glen had developed the tanker chase on storyboard for eight years, and he finally go the chance to realize it in his last Bond film. They shot it over a period of two weeks in the excruciating heat of the desert near Mexicali. A brilliant finish to a brilliant film.

Absolutely!!!!! Timothy Dalton would have been an absolutely fantastic James Bond in GoldenEye and it pretty much would have been his best, all major Bonds gave their best performance in their third film.....
I think Dalton is finally getting the credit he deserves now compared to when he actually played James Bond, there are still a number of fans I have read comments that don’t like Dalton and his films but plenty of fans who do myself included. I am a big James Bond fan and have been since i was 9 years old when Goldeneye came out in 1995. They were supposed to make a James Bond film in 1991 but to legal ligation starting in 1989 and lasted until 1994 that would have been Daltons third film. He was also considered for Bond going back to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1968 but at 22 he felt way too young and inexperienced to take on the role. Timothy Dalton was also considered in 1980s for Bond as a replacement for Moore had he stepped down as Moore was going to retire from Bond after Moonraker then he came back for For Your Eyes Only in 1981 and had planned to retire after that but chose to come back again for Octopussy and A View To a Kill in which Dalton was close to landing the movie but Moore decided one more to return. Moore regretted doing A View To A Kill and it would have fit better for Dalton. Moore retired officially from the role in 1986 before The Living Daylights began production and Dalton finally got the role. Property of A Lady was supposed Daltons 3rd film to be released in 1991. Dalton decided to leave the role in 1994 after 6 years of legal issues and delays he grew tired and frustrated with it all and wanted to move on to other projects.
Michael Lawrence I don’t know for sure who will play Bond after Craig after he releases his Fifth Bond film this year. I did read a list of names of actors who would be possible contenders and one was British star Henry Cavill who is 36 now and be about the right age for Bond if make another movie in 2-4 years. I saw Tom Hardy was considered or a rumor as a possibility but not sure about him though and think Tom Hiddelston was on the list to and he has the Daniel Craig type looks and is from England
Clear mistake: 1:28 The mountain that the truck crashed is not on the background, therefore the missile would explode on the road or roadside. Apart from that, the epicness of this scene is still flawless.
Timothy Dalton is not my most favoirite James Bond as he was not recognosed as an iconic James Bond. However, as I have watched two of his movies, he is abosolutely a fantastic Bond actor and he should be given two more movies before Pierce Brosnan was Bond.
Dalton only did two films and was offered a third film but the film couldn’t be greenlit to start production due to legal issues starting in 1989 and lasted until 1994 which stopped Bond films from being produced and released. They were planning a Bond film in 1991 and would have been Dalton’ s third but by 1994 when Dalton was offered to come back for Goldeneye which would have been his official third movie he was fed up with all the delays and legal problems. Dalton decided to retire from playing Bond and move on to other film and theater projects. Dalton turned in his resignation in 1994 and Brosnan took over in 1994 to begin filming Goldeneye. When they offered Dalton to return for Goldeneye producers had planned to give Dalton a contract to return for other Bond films after Goldeneye as well but Dalton by that point was done and didn’t want to commit to multi picture deal at age 48.
Legend has it that he did make a third but it was never completed due to the legal action the was to be called licence renewed, Dalton was also asked to play Bond on her majesty's secret service but he considered himself to young for the role. Fleming was a big fan of Dalton
729613 Timothy Dalton was also considered for Bond as Moore’s replacement in For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy and A View To A Kill but each time Moore decided to return to play Bond
i've always felt that the tanker scene in fast and furious 4 (aside from being just generally awful) was a call back to this scene in License to Kill, anyone else?

@@scottknode898 Hi yoir exactly right with your comments.Who do you think will play James bond next. After Daniel Graig, in your opinion.
Remy Julienne also drove the taxi in 'A View To A Kill' but is best known for the Mini chase in 'The Italian Job'.

That scene was filmed in “La Rumorosa” in Baja California Mexico.
When this movie came out in theaters Kenworth built a limited number of the W900 called the W900 007 Edition with the same paint job and striping.

1:11 Wait! Did they switch truck drivers?? The Mexican guy with the red hat is in the truck where Bond is supposed to be in.
My favorite one !
ua-cam.com/video/m06RAM8Qcx04/v-deo.html5
Clear mistake: 1:28 The mountain that the truck crashed is not on the background, therefore the missile would explode on the road or roadside.
Apart from that, the epicness of this scene is still flawless.

Why did you stop at the most exciting scene?
I also wanted to see the next scene.
Can find the next scene on UA-cam when Bond takes out Sanchez and rest of his men.

Kenworth did a special edition in this color scheme had a few come through our dealership I'd like to buy one and get the tanker to go with it and do some truck shows
When Bond drives towards the Jeep, you can't see the other wrecked tanker in the background, yet the man with the RPG clearly knows it's Bond's tanker coming towards him, and when the RPG misses Bond's tanker, it goes straight up the road and hits the other one.

For me is the Best, agressive, clever and we look at him in License to kill (the Best movie in the Franchise after FRWL) just surviving using his habilities and inteligence. And we know by Now 007 is not special just for the Cars and gadgets, License to kill proof that.

1:40 the truck driver with a worried face noticed that Bond would put the truck on 2 wheels and that his truck would be hit instead of being hit on Bond's truck: the driver of the truck is a prophet.
