This thing is all you need off grid for a laptop and phone and lights and low watt cooking appliance like the one you showed. Use an inverter in the car to charge it too. Im sold
Hey! Amazing and thorough review. I came looking to see specifically what would happen if you had more wattage input via Solar than what was rated. Thank you for showing this result as a lot of other channels did not bother to test this feature.
Yes, you can use any panel, they will just have to have an XT60 connector on them. If you have standard solar-style connectors this is the adapter I use: amzn.to/3MBzvyl
Thanks for letting us know about the boiling pot option. Been doing vanlife, have never used propane. Since its summer I've been fine bathing with cold this gives me a winter warmed up water option.
Hey man I loved the review! I bought the Ecoflow 220w bifacial solar panel because it was a lightening deal on Amazon and was nearly half the price. I also bought a River 2 recently and I was told I could charge the River 2 with the 220W panel... Do you think it'll overload the unit? Was it only because you wired an additional panel? Thanks again for the review
You are the only youtube video i could find that does this. Thank you so much. I'm buying this for coffee on the go as well, thus it's driving me crazy not being able to find this little piece of information. Out of curiosity, what's your kettle rated at?
I really don’t want to use the app. Will everything work without it? This looks like a pretty good little unit. Thanks for your explanation of everything!
You know what I had bought this Chinese one and it said enginstar that thing took forever to charge but lasted forever it was 300 Watts way longer than the ego flow I'm thinking what am I doing I owned one of these things and I sold it and bought an eco .. I should have kept the other one off-brand lasted way longer but it took like 4 or 5 hours to charge😮
Pump the brakes on your expectations for the River 2. I’ve seen several of these videos that could make one think that this device could be the answer to their power supply needs. It will only run very low wattage devices. (I had it running a small pump at 75 watts. At 100%, it was drained in less than 2 hours.) While in storage, it loses power daily. The solar panel needs an absolutely clear day in the middle of the desert to charge as it claims. With that being said, it’ll run something that doesn’t require a lot of wattage for a short time and charges fully within an hour. (Hell of a lot easier to use something like a pocket rocket stove or a Jetboil if you want to make coffee while you’re out and about. My River 2 couldn’t handle my small one cup Keurig.) Hope this helps.
I drink a loooooot of tea, I have a kettle in the kitchen, the garage, and at work. I’m guessing you’re UK, your kettles work a lot faster than ours as you’re on 230v and ours is 120v, ours are still faster than a kettle on a stove though.
Good thing Ecoflow gave the River 2 a 5 year warranty which does reassure me that I bought a very reliable power station.
Thank you for showing real tests! I’ve watched over thirty videos on this river 2 and learnt more in your video than all the others put together

For a 256Wh power station that charges in an hour, this River 2 actually takes the cake in terms of speed.

This is best test for this model in youtube! i seen a lot...
Thanks for reviewing the River 2. I never knew that it charges so fast that it only needs an hour to get to a full charge.
Im using the 160W solar panels on mine and it pulls in 110W
Good day! Can i use other solar panels with river 2 or only ecoflow solar panels?
Yes, you can use any panel, they will just have to have an XT60 connector on them. If you have standard solar-style connectors this is the adapter I use: amzn.to/3MBzvyl
Thanks! That was also the question I was wondering.

You can boil 4 cups of water maximum 😂
@@TonyMiguel-ko7cz But I only need one cup to throw in to warm up the cold water. 😏.
Thank you helpful! I like the coffee press and water kettle. Good info for camping.
how much wattage does that kettle normally use, abot 6-700watts?
I do like that it only weighs in at 3.5 kilos which makes it easy for me to carry it around all day long.
Great informative video. Please can you tell me what make/model the kettle is please?
Picked one up on sale during the earth day stuff for $$14 refurbed on ebay. Im a happier camper
What kettle are you using?

You should test parallel the panels then it works 😊
I really don’t want to use the app. Will everything work without it? This looks like a pretty good little unit. Thanks for your explanation of everything!
The app is an extra and helps you monitor things, but you don't have to use the app. I really never use it.
If I understand correctly these charge stations already have an inverter included built in so I'm wondering if that causes the Android or problems.
Yes, they have a inverter that put out 110v AC current (wall current).
I can’t believe you didn’t show the backside of the units at least once so we can see the solar panel I/O ports 🙄

Where in the app does it say how many times you have discharged it? I have not seen that in the app.
I think I can really use this River 2 in my hiking trips since it weighs only 3.5 kilos and it ain't that big.
7 pound times 100 miles walking?
I hate to complain but one thing you omitted was showing a connection from the solar panel
They connect with a xt90 connector.
How did you broke it ? Would like to know Thanks.
Tripped over the cord and yanked out the socket….. I’m not exactly coordinated.
Fucking loved the review, even the same batteries I need to charge , and the tool leaders talking shit on your tools lmao 🤣
Can it charge a laptop througth the USB type C? Does it have enough juice?
Yes, it can. It’s got a 60a output on the usb c outlet.
Where did you get the one cup tea kettle? Could you add a link to find?
This is the one I have: amzn.to/3yzrVB1
It travels everywhere with us.
@@DoItYourselfDadjetboil so much better for coffee 😂
@@TonyMiguel-ko7cz keep living in fantasy land, hot water is hot water. Can't bring a jetboil and fuel on a plane....
My car has a 800 watt inverter can I charge the unit that way ..
Yes, you could. Be sure to check in the app that it’s set to pull under 800w while charging.

This mini version is meant for cell phones nothing big
Or usb devices. I use it for my usb fan, my usb lights, my shower head, my tap and a blanket
You lost me when you needed a coffee press.
You lost me when you had a problem with an inanimate object
If you ever made coffee with it, you would completely get it.
