Casa Wallace is actually a Co listing with one of Lake Chapala’s top agents the FABULOUS Trudie Nelson and is a stunning Mexican Contemporary house on a large corner lot. Legacy homes like this rarely come on the market!
We enter thru wrought iron gates to an expansive sunny patio garden. To the left there is a large pool with a lions head terraced fountain. Outdoor dining and grilling area and lounge chairs to relax poolside.
To our right is a cocktail terrace with its own bar to socialize with friends and family. Beyond this, up gentle stairs, is a raised terrace just above the 2 car garage. It has spectacular lake and mountain views. This terrace is large enough for a band and a dance floor under moonlit skies as your guest enjoy the view.
From the main entrance gate, straight ahead you see the contemporary façade of Casa Wallace with its palladian inspired fan window above tall French doors.
Entering the great room, we see oaring peaked and cathedral ceilings with oversized beams and timbers. Walls of glass and French doors. Straight ahead opposite that huge fan window is a baronial fireplace crowned with an oversized mirror to reflect your entry courtyard and southern skies. The dining area is scaled to easily seat 12 and has not only its own French door to the entry courtyard but French doors to the inner courtyard as well.
A gallery hall way with views of the front courtyard lead us to the homes guest room. The guest room has corner windows to the garden, soaring ceilings, a walk in closet, and a full bathroom with walls of mirror. This bath is actually a jack and jill and shares with what could be another guestroom but currently is a stunning office library.
The office has a 2 story gabled ceiling, two French doors to the gallery hallway and also leads back to the great room.
Back in the great room we can enter the grand master. It has its own Toilet bidet room and a spectacular master bath with back to back vanities separated by a mirrored wall and a flow thru closet with entry from either vanity space. What I truly love though is this hydrotherapy bath tub with its wall of glass to a private courtyard. Back in the bedroom there is a seating area and a slider that leads to the home’s solarium.
This solarium features a wood beamed ceiling that soars to a 1 and a half story height Perfect to fill with potted palms and plants. It is screened on 2 sides to the inner courtyard and also flows back to the great room thru French doors on either side of that Baronial fireplace .
Traveling back thru the dining room we enter the crisp light filled blue and white kitchen. Mexican cobalt blue might be one of my favorite tiles. Here it is laid in a basket weave pattern on the floor with contrasting white grout. The oversized island houses a Eurpopean Hauser stove and a wood surfaces dining island with 4 chairs. Its sink has a curved wall of glass to the center courtyard. Remember how I mentioned this was a corner lot? Well the side street has a door that leads directly to this kitchen perfect for your neighbors to stop by for coffee or you to slip out to nearby 6 corners with its mini plaza, ice cream parlor, fresh tortilla stores and weekend fresh fruits and vegetables. The kitchen has a huge walk-in pantry as well as a laundry room with an overflow refrigerator and a laundry sink that is ideal for arranging fresh cut flowers. Thru the laundry room you flow once more to the inner courtyard. There is even a solar drying space to hang your sheets and towels in our bright sunshine. I love sun dried sheets.
Off the kitchen is a family room with built in bookcase, fireplace and a slider door that connects you back to the pool. Remember that outdoor dining and grilling area. PERFECT FLOW
Do you dream of living in the quaint Mexican Village of Ajijic. Strolling to the lakeside Malecon to watch the sunrise or sunset. This bright and spacious home is Tranquil but perfectly located for that dream village life. Patio terraces for casual entertaining or large enough for truly spectacular events. Casa Wallace is competitively priced at $599,000 US Dollars and is that rarest of finds, a home that ticks every box. Village location with off street parking in the 2 car garage, light and bright indoor and outdoor spaces, wonderful architectural features, lots of storage, lake and mountain views and spaces to entertain OR live a quiet tranquil life!
