Sawyer Sweetin's death is not a dark secret that the cast tried to hide. It happened years later and had nothing to do with the show. Get your facts straight.
I was thinking that too until the other brother said the shock of the show ending played a role. Then I can understand how even afterwards nobody affiliated with the show would want to talk about that.
He died 2015, as said, ten years after the show finished. No-one is blaming the show. But the twins, did have an unusual undefined role in the show. Which, he had trouble converting into other roles later. I think there were sexuality issues too, but not many kids seem to do well out showbiz, despite probably having more money in the bank than most 15 y.o's.

Agreed. I can watch the same episode 3 times in a row and still get a belly laugh out of it. Chris Elliot was a horrible addition. The guy that played Russell was very funny.

yes! my husband did work on the show and said that Ray also rallied for the cast with the big execs. Romano is a class act and overall great human being. the cast really did have a strong bond. and contrary to what many believe, Ray and Brad were really close, there was no rivalry
Funniest scene: All four in kitchen celebrating fact that Mom and Dad moving to retirement home. Brad Garret throws his wife on top of refrigerator and when Ramond tried to do the same he slamed his wife into the door. It was so perfectly coriagraphed and unexpected. I just fell off the couch laughing. Wonderful show but Mom passed away. So sad.

She pauses and says thoughtfully, "Y'know what I'm thinking?" and an exasperated Ray responds, "If I say yes, do I still have to hear it?" Complete misdirection in the dialogue, funny as hell, and plainly drawn from real life.

Rip sawyer storm sweeten rip.. but I wanna thank all the cast for all the great laughs even if some of them taught they deserved more .. gotta memeber ur not the only one whom makes the comedy a hit .. miss the show and love u all god bless
1.8 million dollars!? An episode!? I've only seen a handful of episodes of this show, but no way is it or Ray Romano worth 1 million dollars. No actor should be paid that much an episode. Good job for the rest of the cast taking a stand, but I would have kept their pay the same, shaved off Romano's check and given some to the audience for sitting through hours of taping. I've been there. We deserve it.
Romano was more than just another castmate he was not only the star he was involved in the production. Jerry Seinfeld made more than Jerry Stiller, king of queens Kevin was a producer he made way more. in friends they were all equal partners, I am pretty sure that show everyone made the same.
We watch reruns over and over probably seen each episode..at least 120 times..but the writing was like no other..funny as all get out..when you want to laugh this is the show to put on in sydacate
Caleb Clidence I used to watch friends all the time growing up but now I can’t stand it, everybody loves Raymond is so much better and the Big Bang theory
Fred Willard is a guy that likes to "get a hand on things!" Or, "Take matters into his own hands!" Or, "Get a handle on things!" Or, "Get a grip!" I tell ya, that man gotta get ahold of himself!
The thing that made this sitcom work is, everyone in a Close family can identify to a certain amount of dysfunction. They just exaggerated it to make it funny, and it worked.
The only dark secret I recently found out, an I'm not sure if it was kept secret at the time is that the original actor for Amy's brother (peewee) was caught with a sex tape of an underage girl and other indecent images on his computer at his home.. So the show dropped him and hired a different actor to play Amy's brother.
Saying a suicide victim had Marijuana in their system is about as relevant as saying they were coffee drinkers or enjoyed a cigar after a fancy dinner. It holds no weight or influence over the issue.
One of the best episodes is when they go to Italy. And Robert falls in love with the Italian woman. Then later Roberts mom askes her to move to America.
Fav episode. Ray jumps up from kissing Debra and grabs a wreath and covers his privates.. Robert: we usually hang ours on the door..really funny show. MARIE all the way!
I just love the show, and really do feel like I’m watching people I know. There are things that bother me, just like in your own house, I guess. I know the point of the show, originally was the idea of Ray being special, Robert feeling bad. But there comes a time that it should have tapered off and Robert could understand that he was loved as much. Marie tried to sometimes, but as soon as she did Ray walked in, or Frank opened his mouth. Frank was the rudest thing. Another thing that bothers me is Debra’s appearance. Patricia Heaton is very beautiful, and her features only improved as the years went on. But in the beginning, she was dressed like the character would - jeans, sweater, T-shirt or the like. Her hair was perfect for a cute Mom who never sits down. By the end of the 4th or 5th season, I guess, she started too much makeup and her growing hair. It never did look as good as it did in the beginning. But as she changed, her clothes were just crazy. Those shirts she wore were painted on, and her makeup morphed into crazy! Not what I would have imagined her to have on all day, with kids, grocery, laundry, bank, etc. etc. Patricia Heaton is so perfect as Debra, but she just made a detour that I don’t understand.
It must be especially difficult when one twin passes away. Identical twin, to be exact. Especially due to suicide. Think about it. Shortly after the passing, anytime the living twin looks in the mirror... S/he will see their deceased twin. As does any family members or friends. Plus, while seeing the living twin age, you can't help but think of the deceased twin. This is what they would look if still living. It's gotta be extremely difficult for loved ones to lose a twin. and this is being posted by a person who lost 3 of the most important and Loved people in her life. *my boyfriend Justin unexpectedly passed away on Aug 29, 2016. I've been grieving ever since. Became sort of a recluse. My insomnia has become even worse. Stayed awake 8 days in a row after Justins death. Rarely sleep two nights in a row. On average, I'm up 4 days straight. The very few I let in were- my best friend Eric, age 31, who died about 8 months later April 22, 2017. Several months later, my Grandma, age 89, died a few weeks ago on Sept 8, 2017
Ray not only starred in the show but helped create it, write it and produce it. It's a no brainer he was paid more. But the rest of cast should definitely get those big checks from reruns just like the cast of friends and Seinfeld.
Its pretty sad knowing one of the twins killed themselves. I cant watch the episodes anymore knowing he is dead and Frank and Marie are dead. I have seen every episodes at least 10 times and it just keeps me up at night.
Miss the fact that Paul Rueben AKA Pee Wee Herman was originally cast as the character that would became Peter, Amy's brother, although Reuben's version was called Russell and was a lot darker. Reuben was fired after one appearance, due to his arrest in an adult theatre (must run in the family),and the character rewritten to be more of a goofball. The episode with Reuben in was also not re run in the US although was shown internationally. While at one point Romano had it pulled from Boeing's inflight circulation when it gained a following.
The PTA episode when Debra comes down in her sexy outfit. Frank's comment ....well, you should be dragging around a Persian rug😂😂😂😂😂and the statue, OMG, I'm a lesbian. Favorite 😂😂
furrywulfz. "dependency" isn't a symptom of smoking weed. you've got it backwards, "dependency is a personality/genetic trait that manifests itself in many ways, pot itself isn't addictive.
I didn't say dependency was a symptom of smoking weed. I meant you smoke weed as a coping mechanism. Same reasons people excessively drink past socialising. And Pot is addictive if you misuse it. Even prescription drugs are addictive if you take them in excessive amounts. Everyone I know who has smoked weed has done so because of peer pressure, as a way to cope with stress or as a way to cope with something else in their lives. Some of them got onto harder drugs because of smoking weed and it almost ruined their lives. Almost every one of these people tried to convince themselves and others that there wasn't anything bad that could come of smoking weed. If the person is strong enough to handle weed and stop there then more power to them. Every single person I've known to smoke it though, not a single one of them has stopped there. Thankfully, some of them wised up and are now clean of the shit.

The Fred Willard incident didn't bother me in the slightest. He is a very funny talented actor. What he does in his private life is his business.
Well Ray wrote the script on top of being the star of the show so it’s understandable he got paid a lot more

When the show first ran, I never watched it as I couldn't stand Ray. Now I watch the reruns - it is funny!
Les Smutz everyone always says how good Friends was but this show is so much better than Friends
Jemma Strachan I agree friends is overrated
Caleb Clidence I used to watch friends all the time growing up but now I can’t stand it, everybody loves Raymond is so much better and the Big Bang theory
Jemma Strachan another show from the 90s called “wings” is also better if you haven’t watched it you should give a try.
Is this show available anywhere??
Everybody Loves Raymond....Best Sitcom EVER!
Fallon's fake laugh is cringy
Jason Blake He's not funny.
He tries WAYYYYYYYYY too hard.
conan on the other hand i would recommend
That is how reptiles laugh.
Read a book bro.
His only best character, of a non-talant.
The first sitcom I ever watched. Helped introduce me to other great shows like Seinfeld.
3:55 its almost like something private is nobodies fucking business
Fred Willard is a guy that likes to "get a hand on things!" Or, "Take matters into his own hands!" Or, "Get a handle on things!" Or, "Get a grip!" I tell ya, that man gotta get ahold of himself!
Absolutely superb ! One of the best TV "Soaps" of all time .The best actress of all time ?....Patricia Heaton of course !!!
You really had to reach for these didn’t you? Not one had to do with the show
The thing that made this sitcom work is, everyone in a Close family can identify to a certain amount of dysfunction.
Patricia Heaton wasn't the matriarch, that role belongs to the oldest female in the family. The mum of Robert & Ray.
she was gorgeous and still is
Saying a suicide victim had Marijuana in their system is about as relevant as saying they were coffee drinkers or enjoyed a cigar after a fancy dinner. It holds no weight or influence over the issue.
this show is still relevant
Great post!
"Robert" was HILARIOUS on that show.
I love this show! I watch it everyday 💕💕💕💕💕
One of the best episodes is when they go to Italy. And Robert falls in love with the Italian woman. Then later Roberts mom askes her to move to America.
Stefania grew up in the Chicago suburbs.
To me the parents made show so funny love them.
Can someone tell me the names of the spin off?
Lol call out sick to get more money. But yeah you gotta renegotiate when your company gets rich or makes you do extra work for free
I still watch this show every night 🌙 before going to sleep 😴. I have too....❤ it.
Even though Ray Romano’s character name is in the title they still complain. Rich people problems
loved all of them they did their jobs right... Thanks guys...GOD Bless America! my home sweet home...
They all: Ray, Patricia, Brad, Peter and Doris should have been paid the same.
Loved the show👍✌
It must be especially difficult when one twin passes away. It's gotta be extremely difficult for loved ones to lose a twin. and this is being posted by a person who lost 3 of the most important and
Loved people in her life.
So sorry to hear of your loss and that you’re going through such a hard time. My sympathies towards you and hugs!
Oh, shut up, Lauren.
Yank ee Uhhhhhhh... Nope
Travis Rabble Hah. Let’s hang out
Wow, some of you are harsh.
Ray not only starred in the show but helped create it, write it and produce it. It's a no brainer he was paid more. But the rest of cast should definitely get those big checks from reruns just like the cast of friends and Seinfeld.
I see the problem right off the bat, everybody’s overpaid!
Its pretty sad knowing one of the twins killed themselves. I cant watch the episodes anymore knowing he is dead and Frank and Marie are dead. I have seen every episodes at least 10 times and it just keeps me up at night.
Damn I missed Frank...he reminds me of Red Foreman
Miss the fact that Paul Rueben AKA Pee Wee Herman was originally cast as the character that would became Peter, Amy's brother, although Reuben's version was called Russell and was a lot darker. Reuben was fired after one appearance, due to his arrest in an adult theatre (must run in the family),and the character rewritten to be more of a goofball. The episode with Reuben in was also not re run in the US although was shown internationally. While at one point Romano had it pulled from Boeing's inflight circulation when it gained a following.
But Reubens was arrested for that in 1991, way before this show ever existed.
His 2002 arrest.
Oh okay.
Interesting - did not know that.
I love the show Everybody Loves Raymond and I still watch the reruns
The PTA episode when Debra comes down in her sexy outfit. Frank's comment ....well, you should be dragging around a Persian rug😂😂😂😂😂and the statue, OMG, I'm a lesbian. Favorite 😂😂
what's smoking weed got to do with clinical depression? fail!
Dependency.
Imtherealthing - scientifically, you seem to be the one who is suffering. The facts related to cannabis and its medical properties are well studied and substantiated now. Obviously, you aren't. Come back when you have some understanding of the medical advantages of Cannabis and how it is saving lives as opposed to your opinion of 'potheads'.
John Mcdonnell - Sorry to hear that John. It helps me with my TN.
