I take some issue with this book, and it has to do with how much the author changed about actual Scottish history (I've read a fair bit of it) for the sake of her narrative. It is a powerful, and immersive read, no doubt, but don't take the story as anywhere close to historically accurate. I DNFed the second book.
I'll admit that I'm not familiar with the history at all, but thank you for the heads up! I don't read historical fiction that much, but I would assume that the author would probably change some things around. Thanks for watching! ☺
