  • This is the final part of my yearly service, as I had to wait for a gap in the rain this month. I did these two elements of the service together since getting access to the plugs means removing the air box. The final part the installation of is new spark plugs and air filter in my Versys 650. I have the 2014 mark 2 model but the process is much the same no matter which version you have. You should be able to do this with minimal skills its mostly a matter of removing the tank correctly so you don't damage cables.
    This service cost me £75 for the kit (NJK CR9EIA-9 spark plugs, Hi Flo oil filter, Hi Flo air filter, and Silkoline semi synthetic oil)compared to the dealer price of £200+.

    OK thanks for the demo, I can see why I've been putting it off. Looks pretty hard to do 🤯

      Its not too bad, I went slow and steady and found it ok. If you can use a screwdriver and assemble IKEA furniture you can do this job.

    Great video, always nice to check out before attempting on this bike for the first time. Every machine is slightly different.

      Funny that, I've sold the Versys as I don't commute any more and I use my Boxer R1100R for most fun days out. A real joy to work on that for most things.

    Nice looking bike. I wish I had the black swingarm on my 2011 650.

    Excelente video. Yo no se cómo sacas el conector del estanque de combustible con tanta facilidad, yo aún no lo he logrado.

    It’s to much work to change service items that has to be much easier

    I like that color, looking at an orange one with not that many km, it is a bit far away though. That grey might be more my color. Servicing looks easy and cheap, any flaws?

      Only flaw I’ve really noticed is a buzzing from the clocks at a certain rpm. It’s just the clocks rubbing against the housing. Other than that it is a solid all rounder.

    Japanese never give consideration to engineering easy maintenance.

    • @nogaragerequired
      @nogaragerequired  Рік тому

      You say that but I’ve recently bought an older BMW bike and the tank has to be removed to get to the battery. Seems they all have quirks.

      @@nogaragerequired I would say maintenance on pre electronic boxers was engineered for easy maintenance. At least my BMWs even came with an air pump in the frame and a complete toolset+box, and tire irons too. There wasn't anything I couldn't do in minutes by unscrewing just one or two (forks) things. The only thing that was a slight complexity was the alternator.
