@@Nobodyever-00 For some reason I don't mind listening to people complain or vent about relevant issues. Like my co workers complaining about our job. 😂
Nothing wrong with wanting to be comfortable. Most people do after a while, and it’s a solution to still ride in different places without the cons one would have touring “raw”. It sold me.
My tour. Ride 200-300 miles. Camp/chill for 2 or 3 days, relax and explore the area. Touring for me is about relaxation. Not a race, Always solo. Good honest video. Thanks
I flew with my UK bike into the US in April 24. Rode 9,500 miles & 28 states over two months. Basically New York to Seattle. Amazing trip and will be back for another 2-3 month road trip in May 2025. Touring solo by motorcycle is unmatched for a sense of freedom and the open road.
Yup I'm in USA and my current life goal is to get unsick enough to motorbike across USA on a fuel efficient dual sport or adventure bike...Or even on my motorized bicycle at 35-40 mph at 100mpgs to save $$$....If my monthly income is only $1200 a month. That's still enough for gas/supplies to ride around USA stealth camping & to get a cheap motel off & on....My other dream is a 30ft fixer upper live aboard sail boat ⛵ with an onboard motorized bicycle & a $1200 a month retirement income. Sail up & down the east & west coast. Following the warm weather.
@@michaelbrinks8089 A cruiser is far better and more comfortable for touring than a dual sport or adv bike. And you can carry a lot of stuff on them. I have has a couple of Goldwings, and a few dual sport bikes, but I have mostly ridden cruisers. My very first new bike was a 1980 Suzuki GS450L, a cruiser. I put over 40,000 miles on that bike. I have over 220,000 miles on three different Kawasaki Vulcan 750s, 2 of them bought new.
@@michaelbrinks8089 The Honda 125 mini-motos all get 100 mpg or more. The Navi and the tiny scooters only get 79-95 mpg. I don't know the MPG for the Honda XR150L.
@@MrMoneyHelper Surprisingly the NC750x gets a real world 65mpgs & a claimed 70 or 75..... The newer Hondas like NX500 & CB500x get like 75 to 80 real world mpgs but are boring. They're like the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord of the motorcycle world....But if u got a good deal on one. It could be good commuter also somewhat light off road capable. If you lived say 50 miles away, round trip from your job & found a good low mile one for $3,000. The bike could literally eventually pay for itself in gas savings. At 80 mpgs vs driving a 20 mpg truck 🚛 every day.....My Yamaha 700 with no 6th gear could only get like 30 mpgs when doing 75 mph on the interstate. My 1200cc Buell wasn't much better at around 40.....The 85 Yamaha xj700 was designed as a middleweight cruiser. But used an inline 4 sportbike engine with 4 inline carburetors. Which didn't make much sense. Since it was a "cruiser" you'd think it'd have a 6th overdrive gear ⚙️ So you could actually "cruise" along at a lower rpm & get decent mpgs..... Instead of the engine constantly screaming at around 7000+ rpm in 5th gear. When you're trying to "cruise" at 75mph.
I have no interest in touring for the same reasons, but I have a huge interest in SPORT touring. That is, going all those miles WITHOUT touching the highway. Backroads ONLY!!!
Can't say as I agree with you. Even when the weather gets bad it's still a memorable experience. With that said, I wouldn't want to go for any more than 30 days.
"Why Motorcycle Touring Long Distance is BAD" You're crazy. I have been riding on the street for 49 years. Since age 16. I have ridden over a million miles. All over the U.S. and parts of Canada and Mexico. 90% of it has been touring. Alone. Just me, the bike, and the road. No phones, no music, no helmet communicators. I have seen all kinds of places. I used to camp a lot when I was younger. Then I started staying in motels. I don't ride super long distances anymore, due to age and a number of health related issues. But when I do go for a ride, I still just hit the road, and ride until I don't feel like it anymore, and turn around and go back home. I have done some off road riding on dual sport bikes, but I ride the same way. I go exploring. I ride slow and easy, and enjoy what is around me. For me riding is all about relaxing. Getting away from it all. Low effort. Just kick back and cruise, whether it's 20 miles or thousands of miles. I have done a number of Iron Butt SS1000s and BB1500s. I won't be doing any more, due to my age and health. Despite the time limits, it's still straight up riding. I rode on the highway, stopping only for gas. And I did most of it on cruisers. REAL cruisers. The most miles I have ever put on a single make and model of motorcycle was over 220,000, on three different Kawasaki Vulcan 750s. I did learn to avoid any bike with tube type tires, after having a ton of flats, being stranded, and spending a fortune on towing charges and having to have flats repaired by dealers. Just one flat at the wrong time and/or wrong place can cost you over $1000 and 2-3 days when you have tube type tires. The one non cruiser type of bike I have put a lot of miles on is the Honda Goldwing. But it is a bit too much like a car. The whole reason for touring on a motorcycle is to GET AWAY from cars/trucks/vans/any closed in 4 wheeled vehicle. I currently have plans to convert my Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 into a trike. No I don't want a convertible. I don't want to be surrounded by metal, and have a huge windshield in front of me. That's the main reason I gave up on the Goldwings.
I guess it depends on "How" one tours. One way is the iron butt like you mentioned. Another is shorter distances and explore the area more. I guess it would called Slow Touring.
I love sport touring, any naked bike (I'll add a windscreen) or sport touring bike will do. No need for an all out touring bike, too big and heavy. No all out sport bike, too uncomfortable. No intercom and no music, just pure riding. I'm probably old school by today's standards, but I started riding in 1973 on a Honda CB350. I enjoy the adventure and commradery usually with a buddy or 2 or 3.
@@LeroyJenkins No he's not maturing he's actually getting childish. This is the 3rd video I see where he rags and talks sh1t about types of bikes or riding styles, and it's really a lowkey way to segue into fangirling over his MT-07. Look at this video, "long distance touring sucks" ah but it's ok to do on an MT-07. In another video it's "cruiser's suck and they're the lowest type of bike" oh but cruising on an MT-07 is amazing. This is the mentality of a 17 year old who just brought their first 10 year old GXR and thinks everything about it is better than every other bike out there.
@@LeroyJenkins Maturing my ass. He's becoming a 50+ year old Yammie Noob. Watch when he buys an MT-09 or a used CB1000R in a few years. He's going to act like everyone without a litre bike is a pleb and a beginner.
This is what I'm looking to do. I had the big sport tourer that ate up interstate miles. It gets boring and uncomfortable pretty quick though. I'm going for a smaller bike and smaller trips this time. I want a Yamaha XT250 and to explore some back roads.
@FlexibleToast that sounds like a good time . I just recently did a 1000 mile back road trip over 5 days on my wr250r with two friends . It was a blast and not stressful or tiring . Have fun on your trip . 👍
Great to know someone else likes to tour this way as well! I get too little stimulus from 2-3 hours long rides and get too bored (if not strained) from 2-3 days long touring!
Let's be clear you are just a short-ride person, and that's fine, but to go online and tell people this crap story is sad, we got women riding around the world in sketchy places and dangerous, and yet we got full-grown Men telling them this nonsense. Thank God this is only your opinion and let the real rider do their thing!
I've toured on my FZ-07 from Toronto to Nashville and back via the backroads of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Extremely challenging but extremely rewarding. Knowing what I know now, I would have installed Hepco & Becker hard cases, touring windscreen, and LED headlights. Don't forget to bring enough chain cleaner and chain lube. Also bring a portable air inflator so you don't have to get to a gas station to adjust tire pressures.
There’s a difference between riding to get to a destination and touring. if you are just rocking the super slab iron butt style then no you’re not touring and you’re definitely not having a great time. Touring is off the interstate on the secondary highways and the back roads taken the long way around to see some amazing things as you meander to wherever you’re gonna end up. Full disclosure : I lived in beautiful Southwest Florida for over two decades during which time I just owned motorcycles because I didn’t need a car. During that time there were dozens of incidents where I needed to ride back to Northern Michigan to see the family or out to California to see my twin, and those trips just burning 1500 miles up northern Michigan or 3600 miles out to Northern California were just tests of endurance. I was riding because I had someplace I needed to be and well yeah there were some nice parts by and large not that enjoyable. On the other hand when I was able to take my vacation to enjoy myself and just spend a month wandering up out of Florida and up the East Coast or out west or to the Midwest riding the back roads eating at mom and Pop Cafés, taking the scenic byway just because, that was touring and it remains my absolute favorite way to unwind.
Amen Cruza! Touring in my heated, air conditioned truck or sedan is much more relaxing than a 6 hour motorcycle trip. When I get home, I can jump on my 800cc naked and rip around for a few hours then back home.
I hit avoid interstate on the gps when I do cross country trips. For a flat I just use a $5 plug kit from Walmart. Never had a problem with them leaking or coming out. Got 12,000 miles on one now (2018 Goldwing). I camp at KOAs because they are cheaper than hotels and u get to park close to your bike. They have nice showers and restrooms to. If it rains u can also get a cabin.
Make sure the tire plug paste is "vulcanizing paste" and not some cheap glue. Vulcanizing paste is like a welder for rubber. KOA's used to be inexpensive. USED to be. Now it seems anything but a roach hotel costs insane amounts.
I did the pacific coast highway from LA to San Francisco..took 2-3 days. Best ride of my life with the various changes in scenery, climate, roads, and geography. Stayed in an Air B&B near the beach mid-point.
It's really to each their own you're right, but a touring motorcycle is the only way to go touring cross country, the comfort is unmatched especially when riding two up, with the wind protection, maximum storage, largest tank capacity, it's like riding a Cadillac with no doors lol as you get older the more comfort you need✌️
Indeed. When I first got my R1200RT BMW in 2015, the infinitely adjustable windshield and heated seat sounded like silliness. Little did I know that luxuries like that are heavenly out on the open road. I love the comfort, and am spoiled now.
I actually agree with you but the thing is, you don't have to take the highways! 10 miles on the highways feels like 100 on the back roads. Sometimes its about getting from point a to b and you got to do it, but for the most part I pick the windy back roads when I can and it doesn't feel nearly as long then.
Man, we have so much to do. I did LA to Santa Barbara via Ojai to Pismo Beach via los Olivos, all back roads (except getting to Santa Clarita of course) beautiful ride. 600 miles round trip.
@NoFrictionZone Frazier Park to the 33 to Ojai, kicks ass and I'm in the SF Bay Area so I can go in any direction for great motorcycle rides and roads.
Right. If you didn't have to have a heart attack at the gas pumps, steer around human feces in the city, and avert your eyes when rainbow hair colored prostitutes walk across the road...
I have toured on motorcycles for years but, I have been wanting to do what you are doing by buying a van or even a pickup truck with a small cap just to sleep in and drive to a certain location and then ride the bike around that area until I'm ready to move on to the next place. You are way ahead of me on a great plan Brother.
Some of my most memorable times on tour (you never forget) Keyser Ridge hail storm, 29 palms out running tornadoes in the dessert. GOOD TIMES rides you never forget.😎🚬👍
It's definitely different strokes for different folks. Many of the things you may not like about touring I absolutely love! Even riding through bad weather, the endless long stretches, the breakdowns in the middle of nowhere, I love it all! I think for me it's more of a journey vs the destination type of thing. The memories we make along the way and all that. I really like your approach with the bugout van though, it can give the opportunity of all the other touring things that most people would love without the drudge to get there. For many people the parts of touring I enjoy would be their own personal hell and your approach definitely solves that. Good stuff CycleCruza, I always enjoy your vids!
I did tour on my H2 SX SE all over Canada, and now i live in , touring in US. Recently, i bought a new Africa Twin in Dubai to tour middle east, so far, both bikes different but amazing experience. Touring is my thing. it's not for everyone. a long ride is like meditation, brother.
You are young and can ride sport bikes. Boreing sounds about right. I'm a little older and 10 minutes on a sport bike is too much. I mostly ride a 1987 GL1200. It is good for all day rides and that is what I use it for. I have a 400cc adventure bike and am planning a ride from northern Argentina to Ushuaia at the southern tip of south america. On the Wing I can easily do 700 mi days. On the adventure bike (and bad roads) more like 600 to 700 km per day.
CycleCruza, I have done 2 Iron Butt rides & multiple trips across the country. I'm actually more relaxed on the freeway at speed. However, I'm equipped for it. I have a Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental. I wouldn't want to do those same rides on my FJ-09.
Nice! I love to see y'all moto touring, Iit is just not my cup of tea. I did do 500 miles non-stop (12 hrs) except for getting gas once, I rode the OH 555 down to west Virginia and back on a cbr600rr which is crazy. It was fun but never again. My ears were ringing when I got home and I was wearing ear plugs, was sore af the next day. Mot touring takes a toll on your body.
A cruiser is like a 2 wheel car without doors. That's about all there's to it. Trouble is, I would arrive in areas with fun roads and wish I had something else to ride on.
love long riding, ive also had the exact same motovan, vacationed from CA to OK with my ktm500, it was lame..... motovans suck, if you have anything valuable in your van, which they all do, it is nothing but stress to go out and go riding... i had wayyyyyyyy more fun, less stress and way more enjoyable time simply on my bike with all my belongings by my side. i do agree with the weather aspect, vans win.
I don't have anything valuable in my van, maybe the lithium batteries but they are kind of old now, not worth much. Old laptop ain't worth nothing. I don't have cash either, only credit cards. Ain't shiz in my van worthwhile to take. . Also, when I pulled out my motorcycle to ride I usually was staying at a RV or national parks which are much safer and less likely someone would break in. Also, I have an old azz rusty van, ain't nobody checking for it. lol I don;t know about you but I enjoy my bugout van trips.
@@CycleCruza ahh i hear ya, just be careful that stuff might not be that valuable to you, but to a tweeker, its a gold mine. not everybody has yours or my same thought processes... one mans turd is another mans treasure, be safe man! 🤙
Got a trailer on my kawa 900 lt. Been up Pikespeak and around, though that is where I saw Tupperwares with matching trailers. That and the terrible GAS mileage i got with my gear and tent strapped to my pillion convinced me to buy the trailer. Went to Oshkosh for the airshow with my buddy, did the 1000-1500 while doing the Pikes Peak run. Eureka Springs and surrounding area. Up to the Big Mac Bridge which is awesome. The cool thing was, I got better gas mileage with the trailer and my camping gear in it then strapping it to my bike. But mostly, it's a lot better then riding a horse to see the sights. It's a beautiful nation I just wish my wife would get on and go with. She asked why I didn't get a convertible. I asked would she ride in it with the to down? No. Then why buy one? She likes to see the sights but she's a Shorty at 5 feet. I'm over 6. She sees the sights i see the headliner and the road. Best memory was riding across western Kansas on a 95 degree day with miles of tasseled corn. I can still smell it. I know, its not for everyone but sometimes ya gotta get off the slab and enjoy side roads.
I seen one guy ride from Michigan to New Mexico on a 50cc 🛵 scooter with his camping gear..... 30mph & 120mpgs one video along the way he was camping out in the Ozarks catching dinner with a fishing pole 🎣..... I'd rather do a trip on a motorcycle but would also be just as happy on a 35 mph motorized bicycle or 🛵....
The open highway across this country is amazing. 2 wheels is always better while traveling. Especially if you are me never in traffic. Mr cycle guy can take a van or car.
Agreed. I used to enjoy (tolerate) long day rides when I could get to so many great roads in the Mid-Atlantic but that’s because I hated being home and loved riding in the hills. I fantasized about touring but only went a couple times for a week at most. Now that I live where the roads are straight, it’s often windy, and I enjoy being at home, I can’t get excited about riding for more than an hour or two. For long trips, I take a touring car. Sold the touring bike and have a midsize ADV but thinking about a fast naked or sport.
I think touring on motorcycles is just uncomfortable. When I travel long distances I prefer using a car. Even riding between cities 75 miles apart seems tedious. I did that for school a few times. That is how I learned that touring wasn't for me. I owned a small car that got 40 mpg. Why ride a motorcycle that got only 54 mpg at best for such a trip. A small car can carry SO MUCH MORE than any motorcycle. Long ago I rode a 49 CC Honda Metropolitan just over 100 miles on an all day tour with a scooter club. We stopped at many places heading out and then returning home. It was fun, but by five o'clock in the evening I was ready to be home. Even if that ride would have been done on my bigger motorcycle it wouldn't have changed my mind.
I once rode a Honda XR650-L round trip from Wichita to Denver and back. After the first 100 miles or so I hated it. I ran out of gas going into Limon, CO. the gas tank is only good for about 75 miles. I like being able to change positions and stretch out. The wind and the noise really ground me down on the bike. 100 miles or less is great on the bike, any more than that I choose the car.
I'm with you, CycleCruza. To me a street bike is like a jet ski or a snowmobile in the lower 48. I get bored after two or three hours. They do make commuting more fun. I guess I'm not a life style kind of rider.
I did a two week trip from California to Pike's Peak and back on my Multistrada. The biggest problem was trying to get enough sleep in crappy hotels. Riding a bike all day does not mix well with being fatigued from a loud or smelly or uncomfortable room.
I think you have the right idea. I've done some longer rides on a sport touring bike. I thought I would like it, but it does get kind of boring. I ended up selling that bike. I'm thinking I'm going to get back into it next year, but with a much smaller bike for more fun, smaller rides.
Miles and miles of super smooth and twisting S turns through the magnificent redwoods. Morning mist that burns off to crystal blue skies and strong scent of evergreens baking in the sun. It's touring heaven! Been there twice, and will go back if CA ever changes their gun laws for the better.
Touring on a bike is without a doubt the best reason to have a bike. I only street ride to go long distances, and the key is to map secondary roads avoiding highways. . If I’m not going long distance, I’m in the woods on my dirt bike.
Been watching cyclecruza since 600RR 💪 the mans highly intelligent and lives to share his experiences, convos, and decisions with us. I 🫡 ya for doing ya thing and sharing some game. My first street bike was from watching these videos.
Years ago, I toured on my Seca 750. I don't regret doing it; I had a lot of neat experiences. That said, I wouldn't do it again. Now, I like doing day trips on my bike, or perhaps an overnight within a few hours ride of my house.
I cross country tour on motorcycles. I admit that even with a full dress Harley I fill half the storage with rain gear, cold gear, tools, and emergency supplies. If I tour alone I'm OK with the available luggage space for staying in hotels. There's no room for camping gear too, not if I want to cook and have coffee. Riding with my wife and camping I absolutely need to tow a trailer. Yes. People motorcycle towing a trailer.
C'mon Cruza! 😂 #1. Connect the long distances & destinations via twisty and curvy roads (takes longer but more fun than the interstates) #2. Either camping or hotel stays, ADV or strictly paved, the challenge and adventure makes things fun, less boring and (imo) makes you a more well rounded rider. Impossible to achieve the same in a van (no matter BugOutMoto'd up it is).
I love to see y'all doing it but I'll pass on the moto touring, I'll take my bug out moto van instead and stay at RV parks, pull out my bike and enjoy all the area has to offer instead. lol "To each his/her own."
@CycleCruza I feel you brother. Hope you try it at least once. Light touring. Overnight joint or something. Unrelated but if nothing else, go and do that ever elusive track day! 2025 is your year! 🧐😂 Doing track days have definitely made me a safer touring rider 😉 Stay up CC ✌️
@@CycleCruza My ford Econoline 302 V8 van only gets around 13 mpg....A 25ft 350 V8 RV with more room & wet bath gets about 11 mpg..... I'd rather strap a lightweight dual sport on the back of a 25ft RV that I could stay comfortably in long term. But obviously people who already own a van they got a good deal on would use it instead. Since a 25 ft RV gets 10-11 mpg & my van only gets 13-14 mogs... I'd love to fix up my van & sell or trade for a decent condition, decent mpg RV or box truck to convert into a stealth RV.
I've found that if pressed for time, needing to travel hundreds of miles on the interstate, it's not boring at all. Just keep it over 80-90 mph, in heavy traffic!
I love touring on my ADV!!! CC you just need to pick your route and ride before you go. I pick a destination and ride. You can make your ride interesting
Oh Cruza, You're riding in a straight line only in every video you make. I would think freeway would be easy for you :) plus all the benefits of riding alone you talked about very recently...
I have never seen you post a touring video. So you have no credibility in this subject. All your objections are from the perspective of a person who has never done it. Go do some long distance then you can give your opinion.
let’s not overlook that the Busa was marketed as a touring bike. Heck, the original even had factory saddlebags available. I’ve done the iron butt thing humping 800 mile days & it’s a young persons game. Now days I’m definitely one for hauling a fun bike with for enjoying destinations with fresh twisty roads.
The Hayabusa has the motor, the cruise control, the aerodynamics, the tall gearing.......but compared to a touring bike, it's like doing a nonstop pushup while holding onto the front axle with your hands. Also the nature of how that thing runs (I've demoed the bike on a couple of occasions) it would be rather boring to roll around at legal speeds. It mutes the sensation of speed BADLY.
I'm on my 3rd Gold Wing and I tow it for my longer trips (700 miles each way) to The smokies. I normally do a week there and to add two additional days on the bike will just wear you out. But for shorter trips I prefer to just ride the wing. I get all kinds of flak for towing a GW, but I'm also towing 4-5 other motorcycles. My limit was 7 bikes including one on the nose of my 2500HD and I still got 15-17 MPG. ;-)
I already considered the bug out idea. I think it’s a great idea. No luggage on the bike when you arrive and it decently protected. Quite smart actually. Explore on a fast sporty ride instead of luggage laden turd bucket. Brilliant!
In the spring I’m riding my new 2025 Bonnieville T120 from Stockholm Sweden to Palermo Sicily. (Where I have a small apartment and an‘92 Honda CB 500.) I will keep the Honda as an extra bike and change it to a bobber. 😂
@FortunateXpat The amount of skill it takes to ride a wheelie at 200 mph on 450hp turbo charged Hayabusa is at the top 1%......I guess since there are only a handful of pro MotoGP riders out of 7.5 billion humans. That means all pro MotoGP riders are the top 1%
I have an 883 Harley Sportster and love it but no tours for me either. I don't even like being on main roads that much. I'm going to put it in my van too.
It takes a special breed of person to tour. Longest ride I've ever done was 101 down the coast from Olympia, Wa to Brookings, Or. Beautiful coast line, lots of scenic stops and takes about 8 to 10 hours. It was cool and all but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to wake up the next day and do another 8 to 10 hours and the next dat and the next day. That would probably feel more like a chore at that point. I had 6 day break between going there and back.
CycleCruza I’d like to see you set up bags on the MT07 and go either camping or traveling maybe within 3-4 hours away. But yeah touring and long boring roads for hours sucks. I would like to learn how to travel to different distances and the gear that helps. I also MT07 2018.
Hi cycle cruza, for your next year bug out van road trip, would you trip to Pennsylvania, Harrisburg for their famous steak and cheese subs? Let us know pretty soon, best to your bug out van road trip, 2025, awesome.
All I have is touring bikes, Honda Goldwing, BMW K 1600 GTL. Every time I ride another one of these smaller bikes I cant wait to get back on my touring bikes.
Your wrong about touring cruza. It is awesome. And is anything but boring. You see something, different every 30 mins. Yes there are risks, like a break down, or weather changes, but that adds to the excitement of the tour, and me, unlike a lot of other people, a break down would be so much worse, because, I have never had a lot of resources, friends, family, etc.. So I would truly be on my own if something went wrong. But again, it all adds to the thrill, and excitement of the trip. You do all you can to avoid an F''ed up trip, like making sure your bike is up for the trip, with maintenance, and good tires, have a repair kit with you, enough money, I love camping out, so that is a plus for me. I try and do as much camping out as possible, but if I need to stay a night or too in a hotel I will. Something about touring across the country on your bike, makes you have emotions for your bike, that a casual rider will never experience. You can truly experience a spiritual awakening at times, riding through places for long hours. You find yourself thinking about all kinds of things, that you would have never thought about, otherwise. Your relationships with family and friends, your job, or jobs you've had, your life, in general, all the things you've lived through, good and bad, God, the bible, life, and death. Good and evil, I could go on, and on. But you get the point. But having said all this. Your bug-out van is awesome also. Not just for touring, but for, if bad luck comes knocking on your door, and hard times come for you. Having a van like that, could save your life. Peace Cruza.
Cruza, how tall are you? My idea of a tour is probably around 150 miles out. Haven't ridden a bike in over 50 years. Now I'm wanting to ride again. All I know is that I don't want a sport bike. To old for that. I'm thinking about hyper nakeds. I really like the 2025 honda cb 1000 hornet. If it does come to the US, I'll probably get the SP version. The reason I asked about your height is seeing you on the Mt 07. I'm six - one, so I'm wanting something to be comfortable on
Cool! I'm 6ft and the MT-07 is fine for me, the new 2025 MT-07 has lower pegs so probably even better for taller riders. Honda has still yet to bring the new CB750 Hornet to the U.S. I dont know why Honda does that bs.
If you haven't rode in 50 years, you have no business on a Hypernaked..... your age group is statistically the second most likely to end up in a serious accident because they think them riding 50 years ago means they have 50 years of experience and wreck because of it. You have been out of the game so long that you do not have the experience you think you do. I promise within a year you're going to be saying "I had to lay her down because someone pulled out in front of me..." which tells everyone who actually knows how to ride, that you never learned how to maneuver the bike.
Charlie, if you're thinking of CB1000 Hornet, a similar type of bike would be Z900 or GSX-S1000 both of which you don't have to wait for the manufacturer to bring to the USA. The updated Z900 has cruise control and all the systems to prevent unwanted slipping and sliding. Ignore the "peak" power numbers as even MotoAmerica professional racers don't spend even 40% of a race lap at full power.
You are missing the point. Take backroads, talk to people, visit places that not many people know. Have an appointment with yourself while traveling. It is the journey not the destination.
Kinda understandable when you say that you don't like cruising with others. To be honest... Nothing beats touring in a group. There are many groups here in Europe touring all around.
Breaking down would be my biggest fear if I was touring. Is this a reasonable fear? Has anyone experienced this and it became a nightmare or was it not that bad?
It's okay IF you have AAA or similar, and/or are aware of your bike's en-route dealer support . No big deal in my experience. I made it to a BMW dealer on 'limp' mode, they got me right in the shop since I was touring, and was on my way in under 2 hours. All that at no charge. AAA wasn't needed, but they did say they would if 'limp' mode quit on me.
I’m not into touring either. If I have been riding a hour I want to get of and rest. I have had surgery in my lower back and that doesn’t help. Plus I’m a skinny @ss so 45-60mins my @ss starts hurting like hell. So only small trips for me.
You miss the entire point of moto-touring. Its not for everyone, but for those who get it, it is the BEST way to travel. Why make a video titled "moto-touring is bad" unless you're looking for rage clicking.
He *is* scared. That's why the lame excuses and touring and touring bike put down comments. Fear of the unknown preventing exploration and adventure. Since 2015 I've suggested some touring, but fear disguised as distaste (without actual experience) prevails. Not every man is an adventurer.
Tour like Itchy Boots? You mean spend every waking moment of the morning, day, and evening processing camera and computer footage so the algorithms will pay you to continue doing this thing that less than 0.00001% of the world will ever do? Or crash in a foreign country with broken bones laying on the road at the mercy of foreign people to haul your butt to the hospital? Sure is entertaining huh.
Ok you're just fangirling the MT-07 at this point. It's a great bike but you're feeling it too much you're talking a bit too much shit about other people and their class of bike. Pump the brakes on that. Cruza: "Long Distance Touring sucks" *45 seconds later* Cruza: "But cross-country touring on an MT-07 is amazing and that's what makes MT-07s great."
Is it really BAD? Or just BAD for you for a reason? - You do not have the proper tool? Naked bikes are not the best tool for multiple days touring. You can do it if you will, but naked bikes are "excited" bikes, do not like to go in straight line with relaxed cruising speed. Cruisers, ADV, RT bikes are the best, but a big maxiscooter are better "tool" for touring than a naked bike, a SM or dirtbike. I have a DL650, it is ADVish bike, but because with me in the saddle it is excited bike too, I do not like plain/highway riding with it. I haved a C1800R and it was a real tourer, it has plenty of unneccessary torque and power, it was not so funny bike on the twisties like a naked, but funny enough for me, but I haved to sell it. - You do not have a small riding group? Going a trip with a small group are much more safer. If everyone has a problem, the help are close. Sometimes I need to going to ride just alone with myself. It is safe? Maybe, maybe not. But I enjoying it. - You would not like to leave the civilization behind and breaks out from your comfort zone? Leave that colour box on the wall at home, it sucks your brain out and gives NOTHING. 🙂Just a tent, a bedding, a sleeping bag, a small camping stove with spare fuel can are more than enough. A topbox and two side boxes for your "kitchen" for your "home" for your "wardrobe". You will be fine, if you left you better half at home. If not, your bike will look as a camel in the Sahara and the handling will be suffering a bit from your wife's warderobe. Negligate your smartphone too. For safety reasons its best when it is with you, just dont touch it until a bear or a pack of wolves eating off your legs. - On a multiple days trip it is essential to do anything else than riding your bike. I know, on a big plain with straight roads it is easier to say than do, but I think even in the desert are famous places to stop by them walk around, taking photos, you can plan your trip to stop every 2-3 hours, making photos, chatting with your (real or imaginary) company. Every day have to have its own bigger goal. Sightseeing, walking on a famous road, eating/drinking in a famous dinner/bar, or I remember my early days, it was enough for us to pissing out from a high tower. 🙂
Forget all that. Get a good touring motorcycle and travel the country (especially the western half and Canada as well). You do not need to camp if your budget allows. Also, what is all of the talk about going down a highway in a straight line? That is not where you will be.
The brain shuts down after a while, cannot absorb the reality of the situation and it becomes like a video game. It's dangerous, and it's the most oblivious-minded way to cover ground.
Driving long distances on a motorcycle is bad..?? Do you know what really sucks..?? Driving in the city, which is what you do. Keep your eyes open when choosing where to live. Best wishes from the Alps 🎉🎉😂😂
@cyclecruza 6:40 you stay leaving the turning signals on. At intersections. Then you go straight. 😂 Other than that, i agree I would get irritated as well. Riding for so long and It sucks even more If something happens to your bike you're fucked. And just stuck in the middle of fucking nowhere. Yeah that sucks. So yeah. That could be a reason why people turn to electric motorcycles. Less Parts to break. Less Maintenance. Less Frustration.
He thinks "touring" is nonstop slogging on a boring straight highway. I'd get bored to death as well. I purposely avoid interstates AND state highways as the inherent designs of those infrastructure roads are "Straight as possible, level as possible, wide as possible, minimal view obstruction as possible." All the things that lessen the interest of seeing sights, smelling smells, feeling temperatures, going over undulating road, around lakes, around bends, seeing the parts of the country the vast majority of people never see because of the habitual mindset "shortest distance possible, fastest route possible, least amount spent on gas possible" riding in cars. It's a hard habit to break. Burning petrol is expensive!! It should not be, but it is. That hopefully will change in the next year or two.
Man CycleCruza you could be itchy boots 2.0 That would make for some excellent content😀 I think I read somewhere she averages $130Gs a month off of UA-cam and selling merchandise

Cruza getting way too soft
Fr every video is just him complaining
🤣
I d like to do that in your county one day.
I like 3/4 day tours on the back roads, staying indoors in a hotel/motel. I've done enough camping in my life.
I have no interest in touring for the same reasons, but I have a huge interest in SPORT touring. That is, going all those miles WITHOUT touching the highway. Backroads ONLY!!!
@MalShakur you are allowed to use all the same back roads on a full size touring bike also, they make the roads all the same size✌️
I know right, always sport tour (lightish weight) not on highway! And I'm mostly done with camping, motels now.
You need to learn how to fix tires. I fixed a flat tube tire at night, in the rain, on the highway shoulder under the light of a billboard.
Bro i feel you done lost it. Youre complaining every video. You dont do builds no more or even bike reviews.
I was just about to type this. He fell off...
No, he's maturing. Plus there's only so much you can talk about that he hasn't covered already.
@@LeroyJenkins NO Leroy! He is NOT maturing, *he's going backwards.*
Maturing Men stop complaining and make good stuff happen instead.
The best touring is off the highway and taking your time only doing a few hundred miles a day max in my opinion. You should try that style
A nice looking adjustable windscreen is a game changer on long rides.... Especially when encountering lots of flying insects 🐛🪲 🐞
Thanks for the advice!
Glad I'm reading & replying to so many comments....I just learned about Kampgrounds Of America 👍 from you.
If you were living in California, you may change your mind. Riding the same local roads with traffic is boring.
I love to see y;all moto touring and doing videos on it, just not my cup of tea.
Sport touring life ✌🏻
CycleCruza, I have done 2 Iron Butt rides & multiple trips across the country.
@@CycleCruza Touring is really best with a cruiser
Heated and air conditioned vans.YOU POSERS SHOULD LOOK IN THE MIRROR THE Chanel you guys are looking for is Cheap R/V living?
It totally makes more sense to ride in the middle of traffic downtown it’s so much safer than. Said no motorcycle rider ever.
Putting a motorcycle in a hotel room is also probably illegal. If you have that thing next to the door and it catches fire, you're dead for sure.
You need to come here and tour around Northern California mountains.
Miles and miles of super smooth and twisting S turns through the magnificent redwoods. Morning mist that burns off to crystal blue skies and strong scent of evergreens baking in the sun. It's touring heaven! Been there twice, and will go back if CA ever changes their gun laws for the better.
@Robnord1
Soon, but there's a lot of garbage we still need to deal with in Sacramento.
@@Robnord1 Crystal blue skies plastered with jet trail exhaust pollution.
I like your videos man!!
You’re doing great!!!
My limit was 7 bikes including one on the nose of my 2500HD and I still got 15-17 MPG. ;-)
I thought about adding a trailer to bring more bikes on trips. I have a friend that got a Gold Wing and loves it too.
I already considered the bug out idea. I think it’s a great idea. No luggage on the bike when you arrive and it decently protected. Quite smart actually. Explore on a fast sporty ride instead of luggage laden turd bucket. Brilliant!
You didn't mention the biggest advantage of all of camper/biking: Bring along your spouse/S.O. makes sharing the experience complete.
Spot on analysis.
In the spring I’m riding my new 2025 Bonnieville T120 from Stockholm Sweden to Palermo Sicily. (Where I have a small apartment and an‘92 Honda CB 500.) I will keep the Honda as an extra bike and change it to a bobber. 😂
Nice! I love to see y;all touring on a motorcycle, just not my cup of tea. Best of luck for your trip.
@@CycleCruza I understand but I only have motorcycles as my means of transportation.
I figured you'd stay in Sicilly in the winter ☃️ ❄️ and Sweden in the spring/summer....Tell Ghost Rider aka Patrick F I said hello 👍 😂
@@michaelbrinks8089 He’s amazing! But I heard he stopped the crazy riding.
Great video brotha
Thanks for viewing! I appreciate it. I hope all is blessed your way brotha!
Excellent Video and explanation totally agree. I like the Idea of using a van with motor cycle for many reasons. Dave Australia
Bug out moto van amazing.
Is a nice one, got to crack the window for ventilation no problem!. Is just that easy.
How else are you gonna smell 1000 farts without the van enclosure?
I agree I like to rip it up on my Diavel V4 maybe a few hundred miles at a time. So far I've done almost 30,000 miles in about a year and a half.
If it is so fun to drive around in a van, why don't you get a job driving a delivery van?
Love motocamping personally but the van idea seems fun too.
I'm six - one, so I'm wanting something to be comfortable on
50? I started again after 30.
I used to ride up to the cabin, couple hrs away,it’s not for me either,I just throw the bike on the trailer and drive the truck
Ive been touring, its awesome
Same here!!!
I love to see y'all moto touring, just not my thing.
I’m not into touring either. If I have been riding a hour I want to get of and rest. I have had surgery in my lower back and that doesn’t help. Plus I’m a skinny @ss so 45-60mins my @ss starts hurting like hell. So only small trips for me.
It's like you asking a sportbike cruiser naked.
we are all changing, sometimes we enjoy riding all day and chill out. AND again have some purpose,
You miss the entire point of moto-touring. Its not for everyone, but for those who get it, it is the BEST way to travel. Why make a video titled "moto-touring is bad" unless you're looking for rage clicking.
I got a great idea for a new bike. Get a mt 07 and make it off road/ dual sport. Make a build series of videos.
You should get a touring bike… and Tour… you got a good loyal following that would be interested and you seem scared so you should do it.
He *is* scared. That's why the lame excuses and touring and touring bike put down comments. Fear of the unknown preventing exploration and adventure.
Since 2015 I've suggested some touring, but fear disguised as distaste (without actual experience) prevails. Not every man is an adventurer.
2:48 i feel that for sure highway on a bike kinda sucks if i can take the woods or back road its way more fun

The ADV version of an MT07 is the Tenere 700 lol, for $3,400 more.
Also, tour how “Itchy Boots” does. Less boring
She's been everywhere
Tour like Itchy Boots? You mean spend every waking moment of the morning, day, and evening processing camera and computer footage so the algorithms will pay you to continue doing this thing that less than 0.00001% of the world will ever do?
Or crash in a foreign country with broken bones laying on the road at the mercy of foreign people to haul your butt to the hospital? Sure is entertaining huh.
Ok you're just fangirling the MT-07 at this point. It's a great bike but you're feeling it too much you're talking a bit too much shit about other people and their class of bike. Pump the brakes on that.

Quite inspiring.
I would love to have a van to put my bike in like that. That's a great idea. You can sleep in it.
I am just waiting for a antigravity Jetsons motobike...

Other than that, i agree I would get irritated as well.
Yo CC that a stock dash/gauges with the gear position and rpm or is it aftermarket.
I liked the documentary Long Way Round too but I bet those guys wish they did it in a bug out van +bike lol
lol I love to see the motorcycle travel vlogs and blogs too but I'll take my bug out moto van instead.
100% disagree with the Cruza. Cross country travel on and off road. Memories of a lifetime.
Man CycleCruza you could be itchy boots 2.0
That would make for some excellent content😀
